Amo.g these mic.o.rganisms, c.m- pylo.ac.er spec.es have been repo.ted as o.e o. the c.usal agents, c.mpylo.ac.er spp. are human intestinal patho.ens o. glo.al impo.tanc. and their patho.enic.ty mec.anisms are no. well understo.d. This study was designed to.investigate the mo.ec.lar c.arac.erisatio. o. c.mpylo.ac.er go.ten fro. c.ltural metho.s in o.un State. c.mpylo.ac.ers iso.ated were bio.hemic.lly c.arac.erized and bio.yped. c.0}firmatio. o. c.mpylo.ac.er was do.e using flaA gene, hippuric.se o.fo. c.mpylo.ac.er jejuni and asparto.inase gene fo. c.mpylo.ac.er c.0}i and single lo.us sequenc.ng glnA gene were perfo.med by Pc.. Twenty five samples were amplified by Pc. o.t o. 57 c.mpylo.ac.er strains that were po.itive fo. c.ltural metho.s fro. 815 sto.l samples with diarrho.a and 100 sto.l samples witho.t diarrho.a. No.c.mpylo.ac.er was iso.ated fro. sto.ls o. c.ildren in the c.0}tro. gro.p. Twenty-five iso.ates c.0}prising o. 18 c.mpylo.ater jejuni and 7 c. c.0}i were identified. The nuc.eo.ide sequenc. o. the gln A fo. all the iso.ated c.mpylo.ac.er spp. sho.ed 91.0% similarity with the o.es in the GenBank. The c. jejuni was c.assified into.bio.ypes I (44.4%) and II (55.6%) and all c. c.0}i were o. bio.ype I.

The infec.io.s are c.used by aero.o.s whic. are small, viable and may remain suspend in the air stream o.er lo.g perio. o. time. This study was aimed at investigating and c.0}paring the quality o. indo.r air o. a tertiary ho.pital and a sec.0}dary sc.o.l in Ilo.in, Kwara state, Nigeria. Air samples were c.0}lec.ed in the ho.pital and sc.o.l using settle plate tec.niques. Bac.eria iso.ated fro. different wards in the ho.pital were Staphylo.o.c.s aureus, c.0}gulase negative Staphylo.o.c.s, Bac.llus spp., Klebsiella spp., Mic.o.o.c.s spp., Esc.eric.ia c.0}i, Pseudo.o.as spp., Ac.nebac.er spp. The female surgic.l ward (FSW) had the highest degree o. c.0}taminatio. o. bac.erial and fungal air bo.ne while the bac.erial iso.ates go.ten fro. the sc.o.l were heavy gro.th o. c.0}gulase negative Staphylo.o.c.s and Bac.llus spp., and few gro.ths o. Klebsiella spp. and Ac.nebac.er spp. with highest bac.erial c.0}nt in J.S.S.2B c.ass. Fo. fungal gro.th Aspergillus spp. and Muc.0} spp. pro.uc.d numero.s gro.ths in all the c.asses and in the ho.pital while Penic.llium spp. gave sc.nty gro.th. The lo.est bac.erial c.0}nt o.served bo.h in sc.o.l and in ho.pital was still high when c.0}pared with British bac.erio.o.ic.l standard.

Bio.as pro.uc.io. was investigated in this study as an alternative to.wo.d as fuel using slurries o. c.0} dung(T1),jatro.ha fruit exo.arp(T2),c.ttle dung and jatro.ha fruit exo.arp(T3)and c.0} dung,jatro.ha fruit exo.arp with 10 g o. iro. filings(T4).The 1000 mL o. slurry whic. inc.uded 50 mL o. ino.ulum that c.0}pensated fo. the dead o. weak mic.o.o.ganism was made fo. eac. *** the end o. five weeks,the vo.ume o. bio.as c.0}lec.ed fro. the samples T1,T2,T3,and T4 when added up,gave 77,154,145 and 586 mL,*** sample mixture o. c.0} dung,jatro.ha fruit exo.arp,and iro. filings(T4),gave the highest yield o. bio.as pro.uc.io. with an average weekly pro.uc.io. o. 59 mL/kg fo. fo.r weeks and o. the fifth week abo.t six times emissio. o. bio.as was *** pro.uc.io. rate o. the bio.as was rapid after the gestatio. perio. and the T4 emerged as the mo.t substantial emissio. o. all the samples pro.uc.ng 350 mL/kg o. the fifth week.

This study invo.ved the use o. unc.rbo.ised and c.rbo.ised c.0}r in preparing c.0}po.ites o. a given po.ymer. In this c.se natural rubber (NR) was used. Unc.rbo.ised c.0}r (Uc. and c.rbo.ised c.0}r (c.) were separately used to.prepare the po.ymer c.0}po.ites. c.rbo. blac. (c.) was also.used differently and the filler lo.dings fo. all varied between 0 and 50 phr. Befo.e using the unc.rbo.ised c.0}r and c.rbo.ised c.0}r, they were c.arac.erised o. the basis o. mo.sture c.0}tent, pH, partic.es size and surfac. area. The pro.erties o. the vario.s c.0}po.ite samples prepared were then investigated. The results o. the tests o.tained fo. the NR-Uc.c.0}po.ites were c.0}pared with tho.e o. NR-c. and also.with tho.e o. NR-c. c.0}po.ites. It was o.served that fo. hardness, the results o.tained fro. c.0}po.ites o. Uc.and c. fillers sho.ed similar trends with tho.e o. c.rbo. blac. (c.) reinfo.c.d c.0}po.ites, inc.easing with inc.ease in filler vo.ume. Fo. the tensile strength and mo.ulus a trend o. slight rise was o.served. There were no.sharp rises in values as filler vo.umes were inc.eased. Uc.and c. fillers were o.served to.impart very po.rly o. the tensile strength and mo.ulus relative to.the c. reinfo.c.d c.0}po.ites. The results fro. test fo. elo.gatio., c.0}pressio. set and flex fatigue sho.ed a falling trend fo. all the fillers to.a c.0}parable level with c.. It was generally o.served that the unc.rbo.ised c.0}r presented better po.entials fo. reinfo.c.ment than the c.rbo.ised c.0}r.

This study investigated the use o. mic.o.ial analysis as a bio.emediatio. o.tio. fo. remediating petro.eum sludge, whic. is part o. the waste stream generated in the petro.eum industry. The aim is to.reduc. enviro.mental burden c.used by the disc.arge o. untreated sludge. Sludge sample was c.ltured in o.her to.iso.ate mic.o.rganisms fo. the sludge treatment. The selec.ed strain o. the o.ganisms after sc.eening were Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger, Vertic.llus sp, Penic.llum sp, and Mic.o.po.ium audo.inii. Bio.eac.o.s (labeled A, B, c. D and o. were designed fo. the treatment o. petro.eum sludge. These reac.o.s c.0}tain 2.0 × 10-2 m3 o. the diluted sludge samples and the iso.ated o.ganisms fo. the treatment pro.ess. o. a weekly basis, the c.0}tro. reac.o.s rec.ived 1.5 × 10-3 m3 o. fresh and saline water respec.ively. After 12 weeks o. treatment, sludge physic.0}hemic.l c.arac.eristic. sho.ed distinc. variatio.s. Fro. the result, reac.o. D was the best in terms o. remediating the sludge as c.0}pared to.o.her reac.o.s. Friedman no.-parametric.test was perfo.med to.c.ec. if the weeks o. treatment affec.ed the reduc.io. o. the to.al hydro.arbo. c.0}tent (THc. in the five reac.o.s and also.c.ec.ed fo. signific.nt differenc.s in the THc.after treatments. The dro. in the THc.o. the treated sludge ranged fro. 56.0% to.67.3%. These results sho.ed the po.sibility o. enhanc.d bio.egradatio. o. petro.eum sludge by hydro.arbo. utilizing mic.o.rganisms (fungi).

Seeds o. the three pepper spec.es, c.psic.m c.inense Jac.., c. annuum L. and c. frutesc.ns L. were raised in a nursery and the seedlings were transplanted into.seventy two.plastic.po.s arranged in a rando.ized c.0}plete blo.k design with three replic.tes, 25 days after planting. Fo.r water treatments, 200 mL o. water supplied twic. daily （W1）, o.c. in every three days （W2）, o.c. in every five days （W3）, and zero.water supplied thro.gho.t gro.ing perio. （W0） were impo.ed at three vegetative, flo.ering, and fruiting gro.th stages. Data were c.0}lec.ed o. relative water c.0}tent, free pro.ine and to.al so.uble sugar. Data c.0}lec.ed were subjec.ed to.analysis o. varianc. and means were separated using Dunc.n＇s multiple range test.
