This article presents results o. gro.ndwater quality assessment based o. so.e po.lutio. indicato.s (pH, co.ductivity, to.al disso.ved so.ids, to.al suspended so.ids and turbidity) carried o.t in Michael o.para University o. Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria. Twelve functio.al bo.eho.es within the university campus and its enviro.s were sampled and analyzed using the standard labo.ato.y techniques. The results sho.ed that the gro.ndwater in the area was acidic with an average pH value o. 5.47, which falls belo. the Wo.ld Health o.ganizatio. (WHo. standard fo. drinking water. The results also.sho.ed high turbidity values ranging fro. 86.10 to.90. 17 NTU which exceeds the WHo.standard. The waters have mo.erate to.high values o. to.al disso.ved so.ids, TDS (100.00 to.900.00 mg/L), to.al suspended so.ids, TSS (100.00 to.1200.00 mg/L) and co.ductivity (66.67 to.600.03 μs/cm). Reco.mendatio.s include perio.ic gro.ndwater mo.ito.ing and treatment.

This paper presents the results o. seismic co.pressio.al, P- and shear, S-wave measurements carried o.t o. the unco.so.idated to.-so.l at the different lo.atio.s o. the study area to.determine Po.sso.’s ratio. In this wo.k, seismic refractio. data is used to.determine Po.sso.’s ratio.as an aid to.engineering fo.ndatio.. A 12-channel seismo.raph with signal stacking ability was used to.ether with high frequency (100 Hz) geo.ho.es o. the to.-so.l. The geo.ho.e intervals were set to.5 m at the all lo.atio.s. In all the lo.atio.s, Vp/Vs ratio.ranged fro. 1.0289 to.1.4185 fo. the to. layer. Vp/Vs ratio.in the seco.d layer ranged fro. 1.0512 to.1.5834. The Po.sso.’s ratio.fo. the first layer ranged fro. -8.0324 to.0.2060. Fo. the seco.d layer, the Po.sso.’s ratio.ranged fro. -0.7567 to.0.1683. The values o. Vp/Vs ratio.less than in the first layer and in so.e lo.atio.s in the seco.d layer resulted in negative Po.sso.’s ratio. The lo. and negative values o. Po.sso.’s ratio.are sympto.atic o. o.currence o. ripable aniso.ro.ic materials in the lo.atio.s where they o.cur, which suggests that indicated average depth sho.ld be remo.ed and refilled with geo.aterials that may be resilient to.carry engineering lo.ds.

Ho.ever, we o.tained numerical energy eigenvalues and un-no.malized wave functio. using co.fluent hypergeo.etric functio. (Jaco.i po.yno.ial). With so.e mo.ificatio.s, o.r po.ential reduces to.a well-kno.n po.ential such as Po.chl-Teller and expo.ential inversely quadratic po.ential. Numerical bo.nd state energies were carried o.t using a well-designed Matlab algo.ithm while the plo.s were o.tained using o.igin so.tware. The result o.tained is in agreement with that o. the existing literature.

Co.cerns related to.enviro.mental risks asso.iated with pharmaceuticals and perso.al care pro.ucts (PPCPs) have led researchers to.seek metho.s fo. assessing and mo.ito.ing these co.taminants in the aquatic enviro.ment. Identifying and validating risk assessment to.ls that can evaluate eco.o.ical co.cerns and risks asso.iated with PPCPs is critical. Herein, the suitability o. a do.e-related risk and effect assessment mo.el, which estimates predicted enviro.mental co.centratio.s and allo.ed co.pariso.s with predicted no.effect co.centratio.s determined, in co.binatio. with in vitro.analyses o. the who.e effluent to.icity, was verified fo. the characterizatio. o. a PPCP hazard. Co.centratio.s o. the mo.t utilized PPCPs in No.way were measured in influent and effluent samples and used to.parameterize the fate *** than 90% remo.al was attained fo. 12 o.t o. 22 detected PPCPs. Remo.al was no. dependent o. the class o. the co.centratio. o. the specific substance and varied between 12% and 100%. The PPCPs detected in the discharged wastewater were utilized to.assess individual co.tributio.s to.the risk o. the effluent, and no.risk was identified fo. the targeted 30 PPCP. There is co.siderable co.cern abo.t the po.ential impact o. climate change o. agriculture, such as the accumulatio. o. chilling ho.rs needed to.break the do.mancy o. many perennial plants, like fruit trees. Therefo.e, this study aimed to.determine if there had been a significant change in air temperatures and chill ho.rs, chill units, and chill po.tio. accumulatio. in So.th Caro.ina o.er the last two.decades. Two.decades o. daily maximum (Tmax) and minimum (Tmin) air temperature reco.ds were o.tained fro. weather statio.s in thirty-o.e co.nties in So.th Caro.ina. Ho.rly temperature data, reco.structed fro. the daily data, were used to.calculate the daily and annual chill ho.rs, chill units, and chill po.tio.s accumulatio. using fo.r different chill mo.els fo. each lo.atio. and year. The chill mo.els included the T(t) °C mo.el, the 0°C °C mo.el, the Utah mo.el, and the Dynamic mo.el. Fo. each co.nty, regressio. analyses were co.ducted to.evaluate the histo.ical trends. Despite year-to.year variability, the tendency was a statistically significant (α = 0.05) increase in air temperature, averaging 0.089°C per year fo. 20 o.t o. 31 co.nties in So.th Caro.ina. The o.her 11 co.nties had no.significant change in temperature. The average temperature increase in the 31 co.nties was 0.072°C per year. The temperature increase resulted in a decrease in annual chill accumulatio. during the fall to.spring, averaging 17.7 chill ho.rs, 8.6 chill ho.rs, 17.0 chill units, and 0.40 chill po.tio.s per year calculated with the T(t) °C, 0°C °C, Utah, and Dynamic mo.els, respectively. Ho.ever, whether this decrease in chill values was statistically significant o. no. depended o. the chill mo.el used. This study did no. investigate the cause o. the o.served histo.ical trends in temperature and chill accumulatio.. Still, if the trends co.tinue, they co.ld significantly impact the future o. the temperate fruit tree industry in the state.

D-allulo.e, also.kno.n by the name D-psico.e o. just allulo.e, is a rare keto.sugar epimer o. D-fructo.e in the third carbo. (C3), and naturally o.curs in small quantity in fruits such as grapes and figs. It is lo. calo.ie sweetener pro.uced enzymatically fro. D-fructo.e by enzymes D-keto.e 3-epimerase (DKEase) family. D-allulo.e has a similar taste, texture and functio.ality as sweetener co.paring to.high calo.ie sweetener sugar table sucro.e. D-allulo.e is po.rly metabo.ized in the bo.y with minimal impact o. blo.d sugar levels making it a natural lo.-calo.ie sweetener. This pro.erty makes D-allulo.e an attractive sweetener fo. diabetes and fo. bo.y weight management. Labo.ato.y studies o. D-allulo.e intake demo.strated its safety with no.significant adverse effects. United States Fo.d and Drug Administratio. (FDA) has granted D-allulo.e the status o. Generally Reco.nized as Safe (GRAS). This paper presents an alternate graphical pro.edure (Metho. 2), to.that presented in earlier publicatio.s entitled, “A Pro.edure fo. Trisecting an Acute Angle” and “A Key to.So.ving the Angle Trisectio. Pro.lem”. The pro.edure, when applied to.the 30˚ and 60˚ angles that have been “pro.en” to.be no.trisectable and the 45˚ benchmark angle that is kno.n to.be trisectable, in each case pro.uced a co.structio. having an identical angular relatio.ship with Archimedes’ Co.structio., as in Sectio. 2 o. THEo.Y o. this paper, where the required trisectio. angle was fo.nd to.be o.e-third o. its respective angle (i.e. DE’MA = 1/3 DE’CG). Fo. example, the trisectio. angle fo. the 30˚, 45˚ and 60˚ angles were 10.00000˚, 15.00000˚, and 20.00000˚, respectively, and Sectio. 5 o. PRo.F in this paper. Climate is subject to.fluctuatio.s in the majo.ity o. the wo.ld, mainly caused by rainfall as well as temperature variatio.s. Climate fluctuatio.s in Kenya have resulted in the spread o. desert-like co.ditio.s in the ASALs regio., such as Marigat in Baringo.Co.nty. As a co.nty, Baringo.experiences great variatio.s in climate annually, as well as uncertainty in expected rains, thereby negatively impacting the pro.uctio. o. cro.s such as so.ghum. This study applied the rainfall ano.aly index (RAI), standardised precipitatio. evapo.ranspiratio. index (SPEI), standard precipitatio. index (SPI), and Mann-Kendall (MK) statistical test fo. trends o. histo.ical climatic data in analysing bo.h temperature and precipitatio. data o.er the perio. 1990 to.2022 to.determine their trend, patterns and ho. they affect the pro.uctio. o. so.ghum cro.s. The machine learning metho. (R studio. with inputs was used to.calculate the SPI, SPEI, RAI and MK trend test. The rainfall varied fro. belo. average to.abo.e average during the study perio. with no.clear pattern in the RAI, SPEI and SPI values. The years 2020 and 2000 sto.d o.t as they had higher and lo.er rainfall than usual, respectively. The Marigat area generally experienced mo.e rainfall during the high/lo.g rainfall seaso. (AMJJ). The MK trend test o. average mo.thly rainfall, So.D, AMJJ, and annual precipitatio. co.firmed a po.itive trend in precipitatio.. Ho.ever, the sho.t rainy seaso. (So.D) was fo.nd to.be the mo.t variable perio. fo. rainfall, and there was a slight increase in daily average temperatures during this seaso..

A geo.hysical investigatio. was carried o.t to.characterize aquifer parameters and assess the gro.ndwater co.ditio. in Abak, so.thern Nigeria. Vertical electrical so.nding (VES) was carried o.t using Schlumberger co.figuratio. in 10 lo.atio.s within the area. Bo.h manual and co.puter interpretatio. o. the resistivity data reveals three to.fo.r geo.lectric units (laterite to.so.l, medium-grained sand, co.rse-grained sand, and sandy clay sand) which agrees with the litho.o.ic lo. fro. existing bo.eho.es. The aquifer layer was identified alo.g the third fo.matio. with resistivity values ranging fro. 1239 - 5719 Ωm and aquifer depth ranging fro. 30.2 - 54.8 m. The aquifer thickness ranged fro. 24.2 - 43.7 m. Hydraulic co.ductivity ranged fro. 0.1206 m/day - 0.5026 m/day with an average value o. 0.29403 m/day. Fo.matio. facto. ranged fro. 14.55 - 16.64. Po.o.ity ranged fro. 15.98% - 22.40%, with an average value o. 19.64%. The aquifero.s zo.e falls within the medium/co.rse-grained sand. The aquifer is shallo., unco.fined, and pro.ific with a little o.erburden fo.matio. o. 13.5 m. The area sho.s go.d pro.pects fo. gro.ndwater develo.ment.
