We study the carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)activity and selectivity of Fe single-atom catalyst(Fe-SAC)and Fe dual-atom catalyst(Fe-DAC)active sites at the interior of graphene and the edges of graphitic nanopore by using a combination of DFT calculations and microkinetic *** trend of limiting potentials for CO_(2)RR to produce CO can be described by using either the adsorption energy of COOH,CO,or their ***_(2)RR process with reasonable reaction rates can be achieved only on the active site configurations with weak tendencies toward CO *** efficiency of CO_(2)RR on a catalyst depends on its ability to suppress the parasitic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),which is directly related to the behavior of H adsorption on the catalyst’s active *** find that the edges of the graphitic nanopore can act as potential adsorption sites for an H atom,and in some cases,the edge site can bind the H atom much stronger than the main Fe *** linear scaling between CO and H adsorptions is broken if this condition is *** condition also allows some edge active site configurations to have their CO_(2)RR limiting potential lower than the HER process favoring CO production over H2 production.

面部识别是人工智能和图像处理(模式识别)领域的主要研究方向之一,已经广泛应用于身份认证、视频监控和生物检测。因为非接触式、自然、方便并且可靠,面部识别已成为生物识别系统的一个普遍选择。面部识别准确率仍然有待提高,一直被当做一个重要的研究领域。因此,本文研究的主要目标就是提高人脸识别的准确性。现有的一些基于支持向量机(SVM)的方法,能够提高人脸识别精度。参考这些方法,本文提出了一种基于SVM的新方法,可以更加有效识别人脸。本文方法可以显著提高人脸识别精度,并可以用作合适的SVM多类模型。为了解决多于两个类别(多类)的问题,可以把几个二进制值分类器组合在一起,已有多个这种SVM与多分类器结合的模型得到了有效应用。本研究采用了组合式多分类器,即分类式纠错输出码(ECOC)分类器。本文方法采用方向梯度直方图(HOG)特征提取技术来提取图像相关特征。通过借助一对一编码设计方法,利用多类SVM对图像进行分类。此外,ECOC用于将多类分类问题简化为一组二进制分类问题,来降低错误率。为了验证本文提出的人脸识别方法的有效性,ORL、YALE、JAFFE和自建数据库分别被用来进行测试。实验结果显示,本文方法的正确率达到了98%以上,表明本文方法比现有的其他方法更为有效。本文所提出的人脸识别方法具有较高的识别精度。这种精度水平具有很多潜在的实际应用前景,如预防犯罪、残疾人辅助技术、执法和法医计算等。

The development of efficient bonding agents is one aspect of the advancement of refractories. Based on a newly developed binder system, a new generation of tarresin bonded magnesia carbon products with high performance has been developed. Furthermore, the binder system characterized by high carbon yield after carbonization results in forming an extremely strong carbon bonding. It can improve refractories properties to get new product with more advantages than old refractories： more economic, lower cost and low toxicity. Tar-resin is not only used in shaped refractories, but also in more refractories types, such as monolithic refractories. Immersion experiments of MgO- C monolithic refractories samples in liquid steel at 1600℃ have been carried out for steel making industry. These experiments showed the formation of a dense and continuous MgO rich layer, on the interface between refractory and steel, and the possible formation of inclusions as large clusters protruding from the refractory surface. For the mechanical properties, the powder was heated up to 1400℃ in air to remove carbon, and was subsequently formed into brick shape. Standard ASTM was used to determine the MOR, porosity and density. It is found that antioxidantmaterials play an important role in improving the mechanical properties.

A Comparative Study on the Biofilm Formation of Enterobacter agglomerans and Serretia rubideae in Different Environmental Parameter under Single Culture Condition

The biofilm formation by two opportunistic pathogens Enterobacter agglomerans and Serretia rubideae on different environmental parameter under single culture condition was compared. Biofilm clone formation unit (CFU) counting revealed that the number of Enterobacter was larger than Serretia after 24-h incubation. Consistent with this result, measurement of crystal violet staining of bacteria attached on the test tubes showed that the absorbance at 600 nm enhanced 2 times in Enterobacter than Serretia under optimum growth condition. Experiments with different environmental conditions such as incubation period, temperature, pH, NaCl concentration (aw) and medium ingredient contents for both organisms were carried out in Luria Bertani (LB) broth. The results indicated that Enterobacter grew well at 37?C after 24 h but Serretia grew well at 27?C after 48-h and 0.5% NaCl concentration was found optimum for both. On the other hand, 0.5% medium content and pH 5 was found optimum for Enterobacter whereas 2% medium content and pH 7 for Serretia.

Evaluation of land-use pattern change in West Bhanugach Reserved Forest,Bangladesh,using remote sensing and GIS techniques

A study was conducted to investigate the land-use pattern change over a period of 18 years （1988-2006） by using remote sens- ing and Geographical Information System （GIS） technologies, in the West Bhanugach Reserved Forest, a hill forest, in Sylhet Forest Divi- sion of Bangladesh, The images were processed using ERDAS Imagine software. Both supervised and unsupervised approaches were ap- plied and ground control points were collected using a GPS. Maps were prepared using GIS software. Results showed that vegetation cover drastically decreased from the year 1988 to 1996 （l 826 ha to l 714.85 ha）, but increased gradually from the year 1996 to 2006 （l 714.85 ha to l 847.83 ha） due to the initiation of co-management practice involving local communities. Change in bare land was inversely proportionate to the amount of vegetation cover changes unless any other land-uses were converted into bare land. The area of water bodies increased from the year 1988 to 1996 （307.67 ha to 379.53 ha）, but decreased from the year 1996 to 1997, then remained invariabile from the year 1997 to 2006. Some recommendations were also made for applying the RS and GIS techniques to study the land-use pattern change in the Bhanugach Reserved Forest and to create a GIS data base for the study area.

This paper draws attention to the prospects of sea-based economy to promote Bangladesh in a middle-income country through the sustainable use of marine resources. About three-fourths of the earth is covered by the seas. It plays the vital role in two important functions from ancient time known as the means of communication and the source of huge living and non-living natural resources. At present, the countries are becoming very much concerned about their marine resources to resolve many of the present and future challenges of their economies. Generally for Bangladesh, ocean is contributing a significant role to its overall socio-economic progress through rising up the economic activities across the country and especially to the coastal zone at southern part. This paper investigates how much Bangladesh is capable to take of or handle the challenges to become a middle income country through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, it has attempted with a closer-look to find out the barriers or limitations of these activities from different angles if exist.

The recovering logged-over forest ecosystem increases the CO2 efflux into the atmospheric carbon pool in response to environmental factors to changes in the soil temperature and moisture. These CO2 outbursts can have a marked influence on the ecosystem carbon balance and thereby affect the atmospheric carbon pool. The study was conducted in the 10-year-old logged-over forest of Sungai Menyala forest, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. The measurements of soil CO2 efflux were conducted using the continuous open flow chamber technique connected to a multi gas-handling unit and infrared CO2/H2O gas analyser. The aim of this study was to determine the soil CO2 efflux and the environmental variables and likewise the impact of environmental factors on soil CO2 efflux. Post-hoc comparisons were made using the Tukey test （p 〈 0.05）, and multiple linear regression to determine the impact of environmental factors on soil CO2 efflux. Soil CO2 efflux ranged from 100.22-553.40 mg m^-2 h^-1 with the highest efflux in the afternoon attributed to an increase in soil temperature and low moisture. A higher soil temperature and low moisture signify an influential factor as the forest is recovering from logging activity. Furthermore, the predictor environmental variables： SOC （soil organic carbon）, TOC （total organic carbon）, SMC （soil moisture content）, Bulk Density, SOCstock （soil organic carbon stock）, TAGB （total above ground carbon biomass）, Below Ground Carbon Biomass, soil pH, Nitrogen to Carbon ratio account for the spatial and temporal variation in soil CO： efflux into the atmosphere. The analysis revealed a strong correlation between soil CO2 efflux, changes soil properties and environmental factors with an R^2 more than 0.80 at p 〈 0.01. This is proven that logging activity accounts for the changes in environmental factors to influence soil CO2 efflux rate within 10-years of logging and forest recovering.
