Massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems combined with beamforming antenna array technologies are expected to play a key role in next-generation wireless communication systems(5G), which will be deployed in 2020 and beyond. The main objective of this review paper is to discuss the state-of-the-art research on the most favourable types of beamforming techniques that can be deployed in massive MIMO systems and to clarify the importance of beamforming techniques in massive MIMO systems for eliminating and resolving the many technical hitches that massive MIMO system implementation faces. Classifications of optimal beamforming techniques that are used in wireless communication systems are reviewed in detail to determine which techniques are more suitable for deployment in massive MIMO systems to improve system throughput and reduce intra-and inter-cell interference. To overcome the limitations in the literature, we have suggested an optimal beamforming technique that can provide the highest performance in massive MIMO systems, satisfying the requirements of next-generation wireless communication systems.

Effect of Primary and Eutectic Mg_2Si Crystal Modifications on the Mechanical Properties and Sliding Wear Behaviour of an Al–20Mg_2Si–2Cu–xBi Composite

This work investigated the microstructure evolution, tensile, impact, hardness, and sliding wear properties of an Al–20Mg2Si–2Cu in situ composite treated with different Bi contents. The desired modification of primary Mg2 Si particles was achieved with the addition of 0.4 wt% Bi. Increasing Bi beyond 0.4 wt%resulted in a loss of modification, possibly due to the formation of Al8 MgB iS i4 compound before the precipitation of the primary Mg2 Si. Additionally, the structure of the pseudo-eutectic Mg2 Si was transformed from plate to fibrous, which was consistent with decrease of growth temperature extracted from the cooling curve thermal analysis. Addition of Bi had an effect on the morphology of Al5 Fe Si（β）, Al2Cu（θ） and Al5Cu2Mg8Si6（Q） intermetallic compounds. The tensile strength, elongation percentage, impact toughness, and hardness increased by 6%, 13%, 75%, and 23%, respectively, due to modification of both the primary and eutectic Mg2 Si crystals. The tensile and impact fracture surfaces showed fewer decohered particles in the Bi-treated composite. The enhancement in wear resistance of the Bi-treated composite could be attributed to solid lubricant function of insoluble soft Bi phase and modification effects on Mg2 Si particles.

Three-dimensional impact kinetics with foot-strike manipulations during running

Background: Lack of an observable vertical impact peak in fore/mid-foot running has been suggested as a means of reducing lower extremity impact forces, although it is unclear if impact characteristics exist in other axes. The purpose of the investigation was to compare three-dimensional(3 D) impact kinetics among foot-strike conditions in over-ground running using instantaneous loading rate–time ***: Impact characteristics were assessed by identifying peak loading rates in each direction(medial–lateral(ML), anterior–posterior(AP),vertical, and 3 D resultant) following foot-strike instructions(fore-foot, mid-foot, subtle heel, and obvious heel strike). Kinematic and kinetic data were analyzed among 9 male participants in each foot-strike ***: Loading rate peaks were observed in each direction and foot-strike condition, differing in magnitude by direction(3 D resultant and vertical > AP > ML, p ≤ 0.031) and foot-strike: ML(fore-foot and mid-foot strike > obvious heel strike, p ≤ 0.032), AP(fore-foot and mid-foot strikes > subtle-heel and obvious heel strikes, p ≤ 0.023). In each direction, the first loading rate peak occurred later during heel strike running relative to fore-foot(p ≤ 0.019), with vertical and 3 D resultant impact durations exceeding shear(ML and AP, p ≤ 0.007) in each ***: Loading rate–time assessment identified contrasting impact characteristics in each direction and the 3 D resultant following foot-strike manipulations, with potential implications for lower extremity structures in running.

Formulation and evaluation of semisolid jelly produced by Musa acuminata Colla(AAA Group) peels

Objective:To study the jelly formulation produced by Musa acuminata Colla(AAA Group) peels and evaluate its antioxidant properties which are related to the product ***:The formulations of peel jelly were established under two-level full factorial designs within two blocks and one center *** response optimizer,the amount of sugar and citric acid was obtained;hence,the peel jellies were *** evaluation of antioxidant properties was conducted by using total phenolic content(TPC)assay and 1,1 diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) free radical ***:The TPC of peel powder varied from 91.8 to 602.26 mg gallic acid equivalents/100 g dry weight,and 5%-7% peel jellies had phenolic content ranging from 29.38 to 48.31 mg gallic acid equivalents/100 g dry *** results of DPPH test indicated that at 10 mg/mL,the peel powder showed 89% DPPH inhibition,while 7% peel jelly prominently exhibited 84% DPPH *** correlation between DPPH IC50 value and TPC of peel powder as well as peel jelly was quite reasonably high with correlation coefficient ranging from 0.843 7 to ***:TPC can be used as an indicator in assessing the antioxidant activity of fruits and *** present investigation reveals that TPC is mainly responsible for DPPH free radical scavenging capacity.

Object detection has made a significant leap forward in recent ***,the detection of small objects continues to be a great difficulty for various reasons,such as they have a very small size and they are susceptible to missed detection due to background ***,small object information is affected due to the downsampling *** learning-based detection methods have been utilized to address the challenge posed by small *** this work,we propose a novel method,the Multi-Convolutional Block Attention Network(MCBAN),to increase the detection accuracy of minute objects aiming to overcome the challenge of information loss during the downsampling *** multi-convolutional attention block(MCAB);channel attention and spatial attention module(SAM)that make up MCAB,have been crafted to accomplish small object detection with higher *** have carried out the experiments on the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Toyota Technological Institute(KITTI)and Pattern Analysis,Statical Modeling and Computational Learning(PASCAL)Visual Object Classes(VOC)datasets and have followed a step-wise process to analyze the *** experiment results demonstrate that significant gains in performance are achieved,such as 97.75%for KITTI and 88.97%for PASCAL *** findings of this study assert quite unequivocally the fact that MCBAN is much more efficient in the small object detection domain as compared to other existing approaches.

The surgical management of frontal branch of the facial nerve injuries

Aim:The frontal branch of the facial nerve is particularly vulnerable to traumatic injury or during *** the larger branches of the facial nerve,such as the buccal branch,are more easily identifiable and amenable to repair,the repair of the frontal branch is not common due to its complex branching pattern and smaller *** description of the surgical approach to repair the frontal branch of the facial nerve is limited in the *** this study,we aim to explore the outcomes of patients who underwent frontal branch facial nerve repair in our ***:In a retrospective case review at a single,tertiary Plastic Surgery centre,we performed frontal branch repair for eight patients(n=8)who sustained complete or partial division of the frontal branch of the facial *** patients were followed up postoperatively and assessed with the Sunnybrook Facial Grading ***:Using super microsurgical techniques,primary nerve coaptations,fascicular nerve flaps,and direct neurotisations were *** eight patients(100%)demonstrated improvements in terms of resting brow *** was a significant improvement in brow and frontalis function following surgical repair of the frontal branch,with 87.5%(seven patients)demonstrating improvement in forehead ***:In this case series,we demonstrated that the repair of the frontal branch of the facial nerve is relevant,with reasonably good functional *** of the frontal branch of the facial nerve should ideally be done as early as possible following the ***,delayed repair may still be beneficial within 18 months after the injury.

Identification of commonly regulated protein targets and molecular pathways in PC-3 and DU145 androgen-independent human prostate cancer cells treated with the curcumin analogue 1,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,4-pentadiene-3-one

Objective: To identify mutually regulated proteins in PC-3 and DU145 androgen-independent prostate cancer cell lines treated with 1,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,4-pentadiene-3-one(MS17), and to study the molecular pathways that contributed to the anticancer activity of ***: PC-3 and DU145 cells were treated with 3 × EC_(50)(15 μM) concentration of MS17 for 24 h and were subjected to protein expression profiling using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and protein identification by mass *** differentially expressed proteins with significant P-value of P<0.05 and fold change over 1.5-folds were filtered through and ontologically *** regulated proteins were ranked by fold change and identified as common protein targets of ***: Profiling data revealed that, the mutually down-regulated proteins included ACTB and ACTG associated with structural molecule activity, ACTN1 with cell cycle, ACTN4 with cell migration, HNRPK with apoptosis, PLST with morphogenesis and TERA with ***, the expressions of CH60 and HS71 A respectively associated with response to unfolded protein demonstrated opposing regulation in PC-3 and DU145 *** analysis of the differentially expressed proteins in PC-3 cells demonstrated the modulation of top pathways associated with cell-cell adhesion and cytoskeletal organization while in DU145 cells the pathways were associated with proteosomal degradation, regulation of electrolytes and water, regulation control of germ cells and organization of filament assembly/***: The findings of the present study provide an understanding on the anti-tumorigenic activity of MS17 at the proteome level and warrant further research for its potential application for the management and treatment of androgen-independent prostate cancer.
