Effect of iridium loading on HZSM-5 for isomerization of n-heptane

The effect of iridium loading on the properties and catalytic isomerization of n-heptane over Ir-HZSM-5 is studied. Ir-HZSM-5 was prepared by impregnation method and subjected to isomerization process in the presence of flowing hydrogen gas. XRD and BET studies show that the presence of iridium stabilizes the crystalline structure of HZSM-5, leading to more ordered framework structure and larger surface area. TGA and FTIR results substantiate that iridium species interacts with OH group on the surface of HZSM-5. Pyridine FT-IR study verifies the interaction between iridium and surface OH group slightly increased the Bro¨nsted and Lewis acid sites without changing the lattice structure of HZSM-5. The presence of iridium and the increase of strong Lewis acid sites on HZSM-5 were found to bring an increase about 4.1%, 33.2% and 11.8% in conversion, selectivity and yield of n-heptane isomerization, respectively.

Negative effect of Ni on PtHY in n-pentane isomerization evidenced by IR and ESR studies

Ni/PtHY with different Ni loadings was prepared by impregnating HY with hexachloroplatinic acid solution and Ni2＋/N,N-dimethylformamide solution. An increase in the Ni loading decreased the crystallinity, specific surface area and meso-micropores of the catalysts. Ni interacted with hydroxyl groups to produce IR absorption bands at 3740-3500 cm-1, Increasing Ni loadings resulted in a decrease in the intensities of the broad bands at 3730-3500 cm-1 and the sharp band at 3740 cm-1 with simultaneous development of new absorbance band at 3700 cm-1 that was attributed to （-OH）Ni. The acidity of the samples did not significantly change with Ni loadings up to 1.0 wt%, which indicated that Ni mostly interacts with non-acidic silanol groups （terminal- and structural-defect OH groups）. The presence of Ni decreased the activity of PtHY toward the isomerization of n-pentane because of a decrease in the number of active protonic-acid sites that formed from molecular hydrogen. IR and ESR studies confirmed that Pt facilitated the formation of protonic-acid sites from molecular hydrogen, whereas Ni, even when combined with Pt, didn＇t exhibit such ability. The absence of protonic-acid sites from molecular hydrogen significantly decreased the yield of iso-pentane and markedly increased the cracking products.

Cervical cancer is a prevalent and deadly cancer that affects women all over the *** affects about 0.5 million women anually and results in over 0.3 million *** of this cancer was previously done manually,which could result in false positives or *** researchers are still contemplating how to detect cervical cancer automatically and how to evaluate Pap smear ***,this paper has reviewed several detection methods from the previous researches that has been done *** paper reviews pre-processing,detection method framework for nucleus detection,and analysis performance of the method *** are four methods based on a reviewed technique from previous studies that have been running through the experimental procedure using Matlab,and the dataset used is established Herlev *** results show that the highest performance assessment metric values obtain from Method 1:Thresholding and Trace region boundaries in a binary image with the values of precision 1.0,sensitivity 98.77%,speciﬁcity 98.76%,accuracy 98.77%and PSNR 25.74%for a single type of ***,the average values of precision were 0.99,sensitivity 90.71%,speciﬁcity 96.55%,accuracy 92.91%and PSNR 16.22%.The experimental results are then compared to the existing methods from previous *** show that the improvement method is able to detect the nucleus of the cell with higher performance assessment *** the other hand,the majority of current approaches can be used with either a single or a large number of cervical cancer smear *** study might persuade other researchers to recognize the value of some of the existing detection techniques and offer a strong approach for developing and implementing new solutions.

In Pakistan, particularly in Punjab Province, it is difficult for agrofarmers to combine their indigenous knowledge and modern scientific methods to evaluate existing traditional farming systems and forestry practices. This requires an evaluation of indigenous soil classification in simple terms along with knowledge of the local flora, especially trees. This study focuses on land suitability classification for trees in the Attock District of Punjab, Pakistan. A survey was conducted which included interviews of local agrofarmers as well as standard soil analyses including both chemical and physical determinations of local soil types. An evaluation of soil types for cultivation of various crops was carried out given its total extent, component soil series and their proportions, spotting characteristics of each soil series and their major limitations/hazards for trees/crops. These would lead to the identification of various tree species according to soil characteristics. Then, according to the soil types and species, a land suitability map was obtained for the choice of tree species by using geographic information system （GIS） software. Land suitability classification will help local agroforesters/agrofarmers in matching suitable agricultural trees/crops properly for different soils in the area.

Synthesis, Spectral Characterization and Thermal Behavior of Newly Derived La(III), Co(III) and Mn(II) Complexes with Schiff Base Derived from Methionine and Salicylaldehyde

Many metal complexes of Schiff base derived from different amino acids are widely employed as biologically active materials, especially as antibacterial agents. Three new metal [Co(III), Mn(II) and La(III)] complexes with the Schiff base (L) derived from salicylaldehyde and amino acid (methionine) were synthesized and investigated by using various physico-chemical techniques such as elemental analysis, FTIR, UV-visible spectroscopy, magnetic measurement, thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) method. From spectral studies, it has been concluded that the synthesized ligand acts as a tetra-dentate molecule, coordinates metal through azomethine nitrogen, sulfur, phenolic oxygen and carboxylate oxygen. UV-visible spectrophotometry showed the characteristic absorption bands corresponding to a square planar geometry for La(III) and Mn(II) metal complexes and tetrahedral geometry for Co(III) complex. The XRD data demonstrated that the manganese and cobalt complexes were crystalline but the lanthanum complex was amorphous in nature. The empirical formula of the synthesized complexes based on analytical data were [Co(C12H13SNO3)]·(NO3), [La(C12H13SNO3)](Cl)(H2O) and [Mn (C12H13SNO3)].

Labroides dimidiatus has been proven to remove ectoparasites and monogeneans from client fishes and studies showed that they were not infected with the parasite. Due to this, there is a possibility that a defense mechanism against pathogen and parasitic invasion exist in the epidermal mucus which serves as a mechanical as well as biochemical barrier. The study was performed to identify the amino acid and fatty acid components using GC （gas chromatography） and HPLC （high performance liquid chromatography） in epidermal mucus ofL. dimidiatus. The present study revealed 16 components of amino acid and 22 types of fatty acid in epidermal mucus ofL. dimidiatzts. Linoleic acid （C18：2n6c） was the most prominent PUFA （polyunsaturated fatty acid） which contributed approximately 11.69% of total fatty acids. The other major fatty acids are palmitic acid （C 16：0）, oleic acid （C 18： l n9c）, linoledaidic acid （C18：2n6t）, arachidic acid （C20：0）, Gamma-Linoleic acid （C18：3n6） and gadoleic acid （C20：1） which contained reasonable amounts of 9.52%, 8.06%, 6.26%, 8.33%, 6.21% and 9.05% of total fatty acids, respectively. This present study also demonstrated the presence of various amino acids in skin extract. Glycine, glutamine, arginine, asparagin and alanine were found at high concentration of 8.09%, 6.95%, 5.73%, 4.74%, 4.58% respectively. The most abundance percentage of linoleic acid （C18：2n6c） was found to be the metabolic precursor of arachidonic acid （AA） which inducing platelet aggregation, facilitate the blood clotting process and adhesion in endothelial cells during wound healing and might be responsible for rapid tissue growth in L. dimidiatus. It can be concluded that the amino acid and fatty acid profile from the epidermal mucus ofL. dimidiatus contains most of the essential components required to play a possible role in its defense mechanism. Socio-Demographic and Behavioral Factors for Serious Injury among Adolescents in Malaysia

This study was to determine the prevalence and socio-demographic associated factors for serious injury among adolescents in Malaysia. The study used data from the Malaysian Global School-based Health Survey which was conducted in 2012. Logistic regression analysis was used to establish associations. Of the 25,507 respondents, 34.9% (42.1% males and 27.8% females) reported having been in a serious injury. Compared to participants who were not bullied, those who reported being bullied were more likely to have sustained serious injury (aOR = 2.2;95% CI [1.95 - 2.48]). Adolescents who were involved in physical fighting were 57.5% (aOR = 2.75;95% CI [2.53 - 2.99]) and more likely to have sustained serious injury compared to those who were not involved in the fighting. Meanwhile, adolescents who used substances were 52.3% (aOR = 1.68 [1.52 - 1.85]) and more likely to have sustained serious injury compared to those who did not use substances. Serious injury is frequent among adolescents in Malaysia. Based on studies by Harel, suggestion where reduction of substance use and bullying may be assessed if they have an impact in reducing serious injury among adolescents. Furthermore, educational programmes that focus on the underlying causes and determinants of injury provide an effective and efficient method of injury prevention.

Objective:To isolate and characterize RNA aptamers that are specific to human CD36 protein using systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment(SELEX)technology to identify candidates for adjunct therapy to reverse the binding of Plasmodiuminfected ***:RNA aptamers were isolated using nitrocellulose membrane-based SELEX and binding analysis was screened using an electrophoretic mobility shift assay and enzyme-linked oligonucleotide ***:Thirteen cycles of nitrocellulose membrane-based SELEX yielded three aptamers(RC60,RC25,RC04)exhibiting high binding against CD36 protein as shown on electrophoretic mobility shift *** sequence analysis revealed a G-quadruplex sequence within all the isolated aptamers that might contribute to aptamer binding and thermodynamic *** specificity assay further showed that RC60 and RC25 were highly specific to *** competitive inhibition assay demonstrated that RC60 and RC25 shared a similar binding epitope recognized by m ab FA6-152,a specific monoclonal antibody against ***:RC60 and RC25 are promising candidates as anticytoadherence for severe malaria adjunct therapy.
