CPFinder: Finding an unknown caller's profession from anonymized mobile phone data

Identifying an unfamiliar caller's profession is important to protect citizens' personal safety and property. Owing to the limited data protection of various popular online services in some countries, such as taxi hailing and ordering takeouts, many users presently encounter an increasing number of phone calls from strangers. The situation may be aggravated when criminals pretend to be such service delivery staff, threatening the user individuals as well as the society. In addition, numerous people experience excessive digital marketing and fraudulent phone calls because of personal information leakage. However, previous works on malicious call detection only focused on binary classification, which does not work for the identification of multiple professions. We observed that web service requests issued from users' mobile phones might exhibit their application preferences, spatial and temporal patterns, and other profession-related information. This offers researchers and engineers a hint to identify unfamiliar callers. In fact, some previous works already leveraged raw data from mobile phones (which includes sensitive information) for personality studies. However, accessing users' mobile phone raw data may violate the more and more strict private data protection policies and regulations (e.g., General Data Protection Regulation). We observe that appropriate statistical methods can offer an effective means to eliminate private information and preserve personal characteristics, thus enabling the identification of the types of mobile phone callers without privacy concerns. In this paper, we develop CPFinder —- a system that exploits privacy-preserving mobile data to automatically identify callers who are divided into four categories of users: taxi drivers, delivery and takeouts staffs, telemarketers and fraudsters, and normal users (other professions). Analytical computation of magnetic field in coil-dominated superconducting quadrupole magnets based on racetrack coils

Currently,three types of superconducting quadrupole magnets are used in particle accelerators:cos 2θ,CCT,and ***,all three coil configurations have complex spatial geometries,which make magnet manufacturing and strain-sensitive superconductor applications *** with the three existing quadrupole coils,the racetrack quadrupole coil has a simple shape and manufacturing process,but there have been few theoretical *** this paper,the two-dimensional and three-dimensional analytical expressions for the magnetic field in coil-dominated racetrack superconducting quadrupole magnets are *** analytical expressions of the field harmonics and gradient are fully resolved and depend only on the geometric parameters of the coil and current ***,a genetic algorithm is applied to obtain a solution for the coil geometry parameters with field harmonics on the order of 10^(-4).Finally,considering the practical engineering needs of the accelerator interaction region,electromagnetic design examples of racetrack quadrupole magnets with high gradients,large apertures,and small apertures are described,and the application prospects of racetrack quadrupole coils are analyzed.

Crystallization and heat transfer of CaO-SiO2-based slag for high-Mn-high-Al steel

The crystallization and heat transfer of CaO-SiO2-based slag for high-Mn-high-Al steel have been investigated by coupling composition evolution with heat transfer and non-isothermal *** was found that the concentrations of Al2O3 and MnO in the slag were determined by the relative contents of Al and Mn in molten *** temperature of the slag rose with the increase in Al2O3 content first and then fell due to the coupled effects of basicity and Al2O3,and a small amount of MnO cannot change this *** viscosity of slags led to less obvious characterizations of *** crystalline phase analysis suggested that MnO accumulation suppressed the formation of fluorite *** the Al2O3 content increased,the precipitation of cuspidine was replaced by the blocky gehlenite crystals,while the number and the size of nepheline and fluorite crystals both *** to the thickness and the crystallization structure of slags,the heat flux in the slag film first decreased and then increased with higher Al2O3 ***,a new type of CaO-SiO2-based mold slag with high basicity was applied in plant trial,and the change in composition and properties of mold slag was studied.

Exploring advanced platinum (Pt)-based electrocatalysts is vital for the widespread implementation of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). Morphology control represents an effective strategy to optimize the behavior of Pt catalysts. In this work, an attempt is made to comprehensively review the effect of morphology control on the catalytic behavior of catalysts in the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). First, the fundamental physicochemical changes behind morphology control, including exposing more active sites, generating appropriate lattice strains, and forming different crystalline surfaces, are highlighted. Then, recently developed strategies for tuning the morphologies of electrocatalysts, including core-shell structures, hollow structures, nanocages, nanowires, and nanosheets, are comprehensively summarized. Finally, an outlook on the future development of morphology control of Pt catalysts is presented, including rational design strategies, advanced in situ characterization techniques, novel artificial intelligence, and mechanical learning. This work is intended to provide valuable insights into designing the morphology and technological innovation of efficient redox electrocatalysts in fuel cells.

Selection and modification of ground motion records using Newmark-Hall spectrum as target spectrum for long-period structures

Input ground motions have significant impacts on the uncertainty of structural responses in time-history *** this study,records were selected and scaled for the evaluation of mean structural responses according to the target *** Newmark-Hall spectrum is closely related to seismic response of short,medium and long-period structures,so it was taken as the target spectrum *** nonlinear time-history analyses of 9-story and 20-story steel moment-resisting frame structures were carried out as *** represent medium and long-period buildings,*** target spectra with risk of 50%,10%and 2%probabilities for exceedance in 50 years were calculated by the average Newmark-Hall spectrum method for three ground motion sets developed in the SAC Steel *** predicted structural mean responses of these Newmark-Hall spectra were compared with those calculated by the average spectral acceleration method for the same record *** is found that both methods have similar accuracy for estimating the structural mean ***,the method proposed herein is more effective in reducing the variability of the structural ***,the proposed method is more advantageous for the time-history analysis of long-period structures or structures with more severe nonlinear responses under strong seismic excitations.

Model-based automated testing of JavaScript Web applications via longer test sequences

JavaScript has become one of the most widely used languages for Web *** dynamic and event-driven features make it challenging to ensure the correctness of Web applications written in JavaScript.A variety of dynamic analysis techniques have been proposed which are,however,limited in either coverage or *** this paper,we propose a simple,yet effective,model-based automated testing approach to achieve a high code-coverage within the time budget via testing with longer event *** implement our approach as an open-source tool LJS,and perform extensive experiments on 21 publicly available *** average,LJS is able to achieve 86.5%line coverage in 10 *** with JSDEP,a state-of-the-art breadth-first search based automated testing tool enriched with partial order reduction,the coverage of LJS is 11%-19%higher than that of JSDEP on real-world large Web *** empirical findings support that proper longer test sequences can achieve a higher code coverage in JavaScript Web application testing.

In this paper,a distributed stochastic approximation algorithm is proposed to track the dynamic root of a sum of time-varying regression functions over a *** agent updates its estimate by using the local observation,the dynamic information of the global root,and information received from its *** with similar works in optimization area,we allow the observation to be noise-corrupted,and the noise condition is much ***,instead of the upper bound of the estimate error,we present the asymptotic convergence result of the *** consensus and convergence of the estimates are ***,the algorithm is applied to a distributed target tracking problem and the numerical example is presented to demonstrate the performance of the algorithm.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti-Cu amorphous coating synthesized on pure Cu substrate by mechanical alloying method

Mechanical alloying method was applied to fabricate coating with amorphous structure on pure Cu *** microstructure,the phase composition and the mechanical properties including microhardness and wear resistance of the coating were,respectively,characterized and *** results show that the coating is rough but *** has favorable adhesion to the *** coating is made up of an inner composite layer and an outer amorphous *** microhardness and the wear resistance of the pure Cu substrate are improved because of the bilayer *** formation mechanism of the coating was *** as-synthesized coating is considered to be effective to strengthen the surface of pure Cu substrate.
