The study of ea.th ma.ses requires numerica. methods tha. provide the qua.tifica.ion of the sa.ety fa.tor without requiring detrimenta. a.sumptions. For tha., equilibrium a.a.ysis ca. perform fa.t computa.ions but require a.sumptions tha. limit its potentia.ity. Limit a.a.ysis does not require detrimenta. a.sumptions but a.e numerica.ly dema.ding. This work provides a.new a.proa.h tha. combines the a.va.ta.e of both the equilibrium method a.d the limit a.a.ysis. The defined hybrid model a.lows proba.ilistic a.a.ysis a.d optimiza.ion a.proa.hes without the a.sumption of interslice forces. It is compa.ed with a.published ca.e a.d used to perform proba.ilistic studies in both a.homogeneous a.d a.la.ered founda.ion. a.a.yses show tha. the sha.e of the density proba.ility functions is highly releva.t when computing the proba.ility of fa.lure, a.d soil ela.ticity ha.dly a.fects the sa.ety of fa.tor of the ea.th ma.s.

a.M To determine the impa.t of upwa.ds titra.ion of proton pump inhibition(PPI) on a.id reflux, symptom scores a.d histology, compa.ed to clinica.ly successful *** Two cohorts of long-segment Ba.rett's esopha.us(BE) pa.ients were studied. In group 1(n = 24), increa.ing doses of PPI were a.ministered in 8-wk interva.s until a.id reflux norma.iza.ion. a. ea.h a.sessment, a.bula.ory 24 h p H recording, endoscopy with biopsies a.d symptom scoring(by a.ga.troesopha.ea. reflux disea.e hea.th rela.ed qua.ity of life questionna.re, GERD/HRLQ) were performed. Group 2(n = 30) consisted of pa.ients with a.previous fundoplica.ion. RESULTS In group 1, a.id reflux norma.ized in 23 of 24 pa.ients, resulting in improved GERD/HRQL scores(P = 0.001), which were most pronounced a.ter the sta.ting dose of PPI(P a.ment rea.hed the sa.e level of GERD/HRQL scores a. a.ter a.clinica.ly successful fundoplica.ion(P = 0.5). Norma.iza.ion of a.id reflux in both groups wa. a.socia.ed with reduction in pa.illa.y length, ba.a. cell la.er thickness, intercellula. spa.e dila.a.ion, a.d a.ute a.d chronic infla.ma.ion of squa.ous epithelium. CONCLUSION This study shows tha. a.id reflux a.d symptom scores co-va.y throughout PPI increments in long-segment BE pa.ients, especia.ly a.ter the first dose of PPI, rea.hing the sa.e level a. a.ter a.successful fundoplica.ion. Minor cha.ges were found a.ong GERD ma.kers a. the morphologica. level.

Considering the complexity of the networks a.d the need for telecommunica.ion opera.ors （Telco） to present innova.ions to their clients, the quickest possible, one of the solutions for this complexity could be to centra.ize its configura.ion. Thus the SDN （softwa.e-defmed networking） concept ma. be a. importa.t solution. This pa.er suggests the implementa.ion of a.tool to support the development a.d testing of networks a.d services before they a.e put into production. The use of a.tool tha. simplifies the configura.ion of a.network service ma.es the networks a.d services to be less susceptible to errors a.d fa.lures by those who set them up, thus a.lowing telecom opera.ors, a.ong others, to be a.le to crea.e new services, improve the monitoriza.ion of their huma. resources a.d, a.ove a.l, improve their fma.cia. results. In the end, success will be a.hieved beca.se with a.simple intera.tion a.d ba.ic knowledge we a.e a.le to ma.a.e network services.

The influence of hydrophobic a.ents on the performa.ce of both types of fa.a.es in terms of surfa.e condition a.d wa.er penetra.ion wa. a.sessed by visua. inspections, Ka.sten test a.d ca.illa.y tests. a.ditiona.ly, a.hesion tests a.d subsequent eva.ua.ion of porosity were a.so ca.ried out for premixed one-coa. morta.s. The results obta.ned ha.e shown tha. a.eing of the rendering solutions, especia.ly a.ter 5 or 6 yea.s in-service, results from the loss of resista.ce to liquid wa.er penetra.ion, especia.ly a. the surfa.e. Yet, a.ditiona. mecha.isms such a. lea.hing of hydrophobic a.ents a.d photochemica. degra.a.ion a.e thought to be involved, too. Moreover, the results obta.ned using the Ka.sten test proved to be the most relia.le method to determine the loss of wa.er penetra.ion resista.ce a.d predict the a.eing of fa.a.e solutions.
