BACKGROUND nutritional support for patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit(ICU)is an important part of clinical treatment and care,but there are significant implementation difficulties.AIM To introduce a modified nutritional support management system for ICU patients based on closed-loop information management and psychological counseling.METHODS The division of functions,personnel training,system construction,development of an intelligent decision-making software system,quality control,and improvement of the whole process were carried out to systematically manage nutritional support for ICU patients.RESULTS Following the implementation of the whole process management system,the scores of ICU medical staff’s knowledge,attitudes/beliefs,and practices regarding nutritional support were comprehensively enhanced.The proportion of hospital bed-days of total enteral nutrition(EN)in ICU patients increased from 5.58%to 11.46%,and the proportion of EN plus parenteral nutrition increased from 42.71%to 47.07%.The rate of EN initiation within 48 h of ICU admission increased from 37.50%to 48.28%,and the EN compliance rate within 72 h elevated from 20.59%to 31.72%.After the implementation of the project,the Self-rating Anxiety Scale score decreased from 61.07±9.91 points to 52.03±9.02 points,the Self-rating Depression Scale score reduced from 62.47±10.50 points to 56.34±9.83 points,and the ICU stay decreased from 5.76±2.77 d to 5.10±2.12 d.CONCLUSION The nutritional support management system based on closed-loop information management and psychological counseling achieved remarkable results in clinical applications in ICU patients.

Physical signals provided by the extracellular matrix(ECM)are key microenvironmental parameters for the fate decision of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells(HSPC)in bone marrow.Insights into cell-ECM interactions are critical for advancing HSC-based tissue engineering.Herein,we employed collagen hydrogels and collagen-alginate hydrogels of defined stiffness to study the behaviors of hematopoietic progenitor cells(HPCs).Three-dimensional(3D)collagen hydrogels with a stiffness of 45 Pa were found to promote HPC maintenance and colony formation of monocyte/macrophage progenitors.Using single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq),we also characterized the comprehensive transcriptional profiles of cells randomly selected from two-dimensional(2D)and 3D hydrogels.A distinct maturation trajectory from HPCs into macrophages within the 3D microenvironment was revealed by these results.3D-derived macrophages expressed high levels of various cytokines and chemokines,such as Saa3,Cxcl2,Socs3 and Tnf.Furthermore,enhanced communication between 3D-macrophages and other hematopoietic clusters based on ligand-repair interactions was demonstrated through bioinformatic analyses.Our research underlines the regulatory role of matrix-dimensionality in HPC differentiation and therefore probably be applied to the generation of specialized macrophages.

As a newly discovered type of RNA, circular RNAs(circRNAs) are widespread throughout the eukaryotic genome. The expression of circRNAs is regulated by both cis-elements and trans-factors, and the expression pattern of circRNAs is cell type-and diseasespecific. Similar to other types of non-coding RNAs, functions of circRNAs are also versatile. CircRNAs have been reported previously to function as microRNA(miRNA) sponges, protein sponges, coding RNAs or scaffolds for protein complexes.Recently, several circRNAs have been reported to play important roles in human malignancies, including glioma. Here, we reviewed several reports related to circRNAs and glioma, as well as the potential diagnostic and therapeutic applications of circRNAs in brain cancer. In general, some circRNAs, such as circSMARCA5 and circCFH, are found to be expressed in a gliomaspecific pattern, these circRNAs may be used as tumor biomarkers. In addition, some circRNAs have been found to play oncogenic roles in glioma(e.g., circNFIX and circNT5E), whereas others have been reported to function as tumor suppressors(e.g.,circFBXW7 and circSHPRH). Furthermore, circRNA is a good tool for protein expression because of its higher stability compared to linear RNAs. Thus, circRNAs may also be an ideal choice for gene/protein delivery in future brain cancer therapies. There are some challenges in circRNA research in glioma and other diseases. Research related to circRNAs in glioma is comparatively new and many mysteries remain to be solved.

为了评估舱室内爆多载荷耦合作用下舰船结构的损伤范围,设计了大尺度舱段模型,并开展了舱室内爆毁伤试验,试验后测量了舱室结构的破坏范围及破坏模式,分析了舱室内爆多载荷耦合作用下舰船结构的损伤机理,据此建立了舱室内爆下舰船结构损伤的计算方法。结果表明:(1)舱室内爆下形成的强冲击波载荷和准静态压力载荷可对舰船结构造成大范围的损伤,形成多种破坏模式;(2)舱室内爆下准静态压力载荷是舱室结构损伤破坏的主要毁伤元;(3)建立的舱室内爆载荷下结构损伤变形计算方法可同时考虑强冲击载荷和准静态压力载荷对结构的损伤破坏,理论计算结果与试验结果吻合较好。

BACKGROUND Pyogenic ventriculitis caused by extensively drug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii(A.baumannii)is one of the most severe complications associated with craniotomy.However,limited therapeutic options exist for the treatment of A.baumannii ventriculitis due to the poor penetration rate of most antibiotics through the blood-brain barrier.CASE SUMMARY A 68-year-old male patient with severe traumatic brain injury developed pyogenic ventriculitis on postoperative day 24 caused by extensively drug-resistant A.baumannii susceptible to tigecycline only.Successful treatment was accomplished through multi-route administration of tigecycline,including intravenous combined with continuous ventricular irrigation plus intraventricular administration.The pus was cleared on the 3rd day post-irrigation,and cerebrospinal fluid cultures were negative after 12 d.CONCLUSION Our findings suggest that multi-route administration of tigecycline can be a therapeutic option against pyogenic ventriculitis caused by extensively drugresistant A.baumannii.

High-entropy alloys(HEAs),which were introduced as a pioneering concept in 2004,have captured the keen interest of nu-merous researchers.Entropy,in this context,can be perceived as representing disorder and randomness.By contrast,elemental composi-tions within alloy systems occupy specific structural sites in space,a concept referred to as structure.In accordance with Shannon entropy,structure is analogous to information.Generally,the arrangement of atoms within a material,termed its structure,plays a pivotal role in dictating its properties.In addition to expanding the array of options for alloy composites,HEAs afford ample opportunities for diverse structural designs.The profound influence of distinct structural features on the exceptional behaviors of alloys is underscored by numer-ous examples.These features include remarkably high fracture strength with excellent ductility,antiballistic capability,exceptional radi-ation resistance,and corrosion resistance.In this paper,we delve into various unique material structures and properties while elucidating the intricate relationship between structure and performance.

Background Traffic accidents,anti-terrorism,gas and chemical dangerous goods explosions,earthquake shock wave damage,and falling impacts in daily life and other events involving impact loads cause great harm to human organs and tissues,and even life-threatening.Such injuries are called impact damage.Although during the previous wars,the treatment of impact injuries has been greatly improved,and its treatment has been widely used in clinical practice.However,under the current development of society,the impact damage incident has not only been limited to the battlefield.Extreme organizations,frequent industrial production accidents,aircraft trains and other accidents have extended the impact damage incidents into daily society,seriously jeopardizing the health of civilians.Therefore,in order to better treat the injured organs under the impact load,such as the reconstruction and recovery of organ tissues,it is necessary to establish a corresponding system of clinical treatment methods for impact damage.In vitro models of traumatic injury are helping elucidate the pathobiological mechanisms responsible for dysfunction and delayed cell functional variation after mechanical stimulation of the single waveform pressure.It is likely that injury outcome is related to the biomechanical parameters of the traumatic event such as amplitudes and durations.However,the influence of impulsive pressure on endothelial function has not yet been fully studied in vitro.In this study,we developed a pressure loading device that produced positive by modifying an in vitro fluid percussion model and examined the effects of the pressures on macrophages’basic functions.Methods To model variations in the biomechanical injury parameters and simplify the experiment,single-use syringe was chosen to be the cell container and a drop hammer driven fluid percussion injury system(FPI)was designed and built to generate a single waveform with adjustable peak pressure and durations.Mice macrophage cells(Raw 264.7)were subjected to three types of the sing

为评估水体生态健康,量化和确定供水输入的浮游藻类群落对受水水体浮游藻类生长的影响程度具有重要意义。该研究在不同季节的调水期测定了供、受水水体的理化因子,同时利用藻类生长潜力试验比较和分析了不同比例的供、受水水体混合处理后浮游藻类细胞密度和群落结构变化。结果显示,调水期间受水水库的氮磷营养盐浓度没有显著变化(P>0.05)。不同季节的藻类生长潜力试验显示,夏、冬季处理组的浮游藻类细胞密度峰值时间比对照组提前了4 d,且密度峰值随着混合比例的提高而增大;但夏季培养末期(20 d)处理组的浮游藻类密度均低于对照组,同时夏、秋和冬季处理组的实际藻类密度峰值均低于理论估算值,分别低10%、17%~24%和31%。处理组的群落结构变化表现为夏季受水水库的绝对优势种转变为输入的优势种,秋、冬季绝对优势种的相对丰度随调水比例的提高而增加,明显受到供水优势种生长的影响。供、受水水体的营养盐浓度差异是影响藻类生长的主要因素,持续调水显著影响受水水体浮游藻类的群落结构,但在一定程度上降低了发生藻类水华的风险。
