Hierarchical structures hydrogel evaporator and superhydrophilic water collect device for efficient solar steam evaporation

Efficient light absorption and trapping are of vital importance for the solar water evaporation by hydrogel-based photothermal conversion *** strategies are focused on the development of the composition and structure of the hydrogers internal *** our point of view,the importance of the surface structure of hydrogel has usually been underestimated or *** inspired by the excellent absorbance and water transportation ability of biological surface structure,the hierarchical structured hydrogel evaporators(HSEs)increased the light absorption,trapping,water transportation and water-air interface,which is the beneficial photothermal conversion and water *** HSEs showed a rapid evaporation rate of 1.77 kg·m^(-2)·h^(-1)at about 92%energy efficiency under one sun(1 kW·m^(-2)).Furthermore,the superhydrophilic window device was used in this work to collect the condensed water,which avoids the light-blocking caused by the water mist formed by the small droplets and the problem of the droplets stick on the device dropping back to the bulk *** with the excellent photothermal conversion hydrogel and superhydrophilic window equipment,this work provides efficient evaporation and desalination of hydrogel-based solar evaporators in practical large-scale applications.

No reports have described experiments designed to determine the strength characteristics of spinal nerve roots and rami radiculares for the purpose of explaining the complexity of symptoms of medullary cone lesions and cauda equina syndrome. In this study, to explain the pathogenesis of cauda equina syndrome, monoaxial tensile tests were performed to determine the strength characteristics of spinal nerve roots and rami radiculares, and analysis was conducted to evaluate the stress-strain relationship and strength characteristics. Using the same tensile test device, the nerve root and ramus radiculares isolated from the spinal cords of pigs were subjected to the tensile test and stress relaxation test at load strain rates of 0.1, 1, 10, and 100 s-1 under identical settings. The tensile strength of the nerve root was not rate dependent, while the ramus radiculares tensile strength tended to decrease as the strain rate increased. These findings provide important insights into cauda equina symptoms, radiculopathy, and clinical symptoms of the medullary cone.

We present three cases of autoimmune pancreatitis(AIP) complicated by gastric *** 1:A 57-yearold man was diagnosed with AIP complicated by gastric varices and splenic vein *** was not detected at the time of the *** AIP improved using steroid therapy,the splenic vein was reperfused,and the gastric varices disappeared;case 2:A 55-year-old man was diagnosed with AIP complicated by gastric varices,splenic vein obstruction,and *** the AIP improved using steroid therapy,the gastric varices and splenic vein obstruction did not resolve;case 3:A 68-year-old man was diagnosed with AIP complicated by gastric varices,splenic vein obstruction,and *** gastric varices,splenic vein obstruction,and AIP did not improve using steroid *** three cases suggest that gastric varices or splenic vein obstruction without splenomegaly may be an indication for steroid therapy in patients with AIP because the complications will likely become irreversible over time.

Characteristics of gas evolution profiles during coal pyrolysis and its relation with the variation of functional groups

Strict relation between the substituents or functional groups attached to the coal macromolecules and the generation of the volatile products, e.g., CH4 H2O, CO, CO2, etc., during the coal pyrolysis is an important but confusing subject. In this paper, quadrupole mass spectronletry, gas chromatography, and ^l3C nuclear magnetic resonance are applied to real-time monitoring the formations of volatile products, off-line quantitative determination of the total products from the pyrolysis of a sub-bituminous coal (SC), and the changes of diverse substitents in the SC along with coke foamation, respectively. These measurements are also performed for the pyrolysis of a caking coal to contrast SC. The qualitative and quantitative data reveal that, during coal pyrolysis, the functional groups related with the formation of CO, i.e., ether, carbonyl, and anhydride, can directly gen erate CO via bond breaking, or take a detour of the formation of other intermediates via condensation and recombination firstly. Moreover, the formations of CO2 and CH4 are related to the direct removal of -COO- and -CH3,respectively.

AIM:To analyze the association between the emergence of tyrosine-methionine-asparatate-asparatate(YMDD) mutants(reverse transcription;rtM204I/V) and deterioration of liver function during long-term lamivudine treatment of Japanese patients with chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV) ***:The data of 61 consecutive Japanese patients with chronic hepatitis B who underwent continuous lamivudine treatment for more than 24 mo and had a virological response were *** of YMDD mutants was done by real-time polymerase chain reaction with LightCycler probe hybridization assay for up to 90 mo(mean,50.8 mo;range,24-90 mo).RESULTS:A mixed mutant-type(YMDD + tyrosine-isoleucine-asparatate-asparatate:YIDD or tyrosine-valineasparatate-asparatate:YVDD) or a mutant-type(YIDD or YVDD) were found in 57.4% of 61 patients at 1 year,78.7% of 61 patients at 2 years,79.6% of 49 patients at 3 years,70.5% of 34 patients at 4 years,68.4% of 19 patients at 5 years,57.1% of 14 patients at 6 years,and 33.3% of 6 patients at 7 *** the 61 patients,56(92%) had mixed mutant-or a *** 5(8%) had no mutants at each observation *** breakthrough was found in 26(46.4%) of 56 patients with YMDD mutants,20 of whom had a hepatitis flare-up:the remaining 30(53.6%) had neither a virological breakthrough nor a *** 20 patients who developed a hepatitis flare-up had a biochemical and virological response after adefovir was added to the lamivudine ***:Our results suggest that it is possible to continue lamivudine treatment,even after the emergence of YMDD mutants,up to the time that the patients develop a hepatitis flare-up.

AIM To investigate the possible involvement of transient receptor potential vanilloid 1(TRPV1) in maturation of enteric glial cells(EGCs).METHODS Immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical techniques were used to analyze EGC markers in myenteric plexus(MP) as well as cultured MP cells and EGCs using TRPV1 knockout(KO) *** We detected TRPV1-immunoreactive signals in EGC in the MP of wild-type(WT) but not KO mice. Expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP) immunoreactive signals was lower at postnatal day(PD) 6 in KO mice, though the difference was not clear at PD 13 and PD 21. When MP cells were isolated and cultured from isolated longitudinal muscle-MP preparation from WT and KO mice, the yield of KO EGC was lower than that of WT EGC, while the yield of KO and WT smooth muscle cells showed no difference. Addition of BCTC, a TRPV1 antagonist, to enriched EGC culture resulted in a decrease in the protein ratio of GFAP to S100 B, another EGC/astrocyte-specific marker. CONCLUSION These results address the possibility that TRPV1 may be involved in the maturation of EGC, though further studies are necessary to validate this possibility.

A practical method for evaluating the three-dimensional（3D） position and velocity of a moving object used in the parabolic flight experiment is developed by using the binocular stereo vision measurement theory. The camera calibration mathematic model without considering the lens distortion is *** direct linear transformation（DLT） algorithm is improved to accomplish the camera *** camera calibration result and optimization algorithm are used to calculate the object＇s world coordinate from image *** 3D position and the velocity of the moving object are *** standard uncertainty in estimating the velocity is 0.0024 m/s,which corresponds to 1%level of the velocity of the object in the *** results show that this method is very useful for the parabolic flight experiments.

A Comparison of Paraconsistent Description Logics

Description logics (DLs) are a family of logic-based knowledge representation formalisms with a number of computer science applications. DLs are especially well-known to be valuable for obtaining logical foundations of web ontology languages (e.g., W3C’s ontology language OWL). Paraconsistent (or inconsistency-tolerant) description logics (PDLs) have been studied to cope with inconsistencies which may frequently occur in an open world. In this paper, a comparison and survey of PDLs is presented. It is shown that four existing paraconsistent semantics (i.e., four-valued semantics, quasi-classical semantics, single-interpretation semantics and dual-interpretation semantics) for PDLs are essentially the same semantics. To show this, two generalized and extended new semantics are introduced, and an equivalence between them is proved.

To date, various signal transducers, cytokines, growth factors, and hormones have been reported to play an important role in homeostasis of various organs. Various cells and organs are involved in the hepatic regeneration process, which proceeds as a result of the coordination of many factors. While these factors are well known to be involved in the liver regeneration after the liver injury, however, as the details of such mechanisms have not been sufficiently elucidated, the practical applicability of hepatic regeneration based on the action of these and cytokines growth factors is still unclear. In terms of the involvement of the autonomic nervous system in hepatic regeneration, cell proliferation resulting from direct signal transduction to the liver has also been reported and recent studies focusing on the inter-organ communication via neural network opened a novel aspect of this field for therapeutic applicability. Therefore, the appropriate understanding of the relationship between autonomic neural network and liver regeneration through various organs including brain, afferent nerve, efferent nerve, etc. is essential. This mini-review explains the principle of neural system involved in the inter-organ communication and its contribution on the liver regeneration upon the liver injury reviewing recent progress in this field.
