Hyperuricemia is an alarming issue that contributes to cardiovascular *** acid(UA)level was proven to be related to pulse wave velocity,a marker of arterial stiffness.A hyperuricemia prediction method utilizing photoplethysmogram(PPG)and arteriograph by using machine learning(ML)is *** the literature search,there is no available papers found that relates PPG with UA level even though PPG is highly associated with vessel *** five phases in this research are data collection,signal preprocessing including denoising and signal quality indexes,features extraction for PPG and SDPPG waveform,statistical analysis for feature selection and classification of UA levels using *** PPG to the current arteriograph able to reduce cost and increase the prediction *** and arteriograph data were measured from 113 subjects,and 226 sets of data were collected from the left and right hands of the *** performance of four types of ML,namely,artificial neural network(ANN),linear discriminant analysis(LDA),k-nearest neighbor(kNN),and support vector machine(SVM)in predicting hyperuricemia was *** the total of 98 features extracted,16 features of which showed statistical significance for hyper and *** gives the best performance compared to the other three ML techniques with 91.67%,95.45%,and 94.12%for sensitivity,specificity,and accuracy,*** from PPG and arteriograph able to be used to predict hyperuricemia accurately and *** study is the first to find the relationship of PPG with *** shows a significant relation between PPG signals and arteriograph data toward the UA *** proposed method of UA prediction shows its potential for noninvasive preliminary assessment.

A study on the distribution of Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Trichoptera and Odonata in relation of environmental interruptions was done at three different rivers tributaries of Bukit Merah Reservoir, Perak namely Sungai Jelai, Sungai Ara, and Sungai Kurau from October 2013 to January 2014. A total of 1 942 individuals were collected during the 4month of the study. The number of Ephemeroptera was highest, which was found at Sungai Jelai and Sungai Kurau and dominated by Baetis from family Baetidae while at Sungai Kurau dominated by Trichoptera, Hydropsyche from family Hydropsychidae. Ecological and biological indices have been used to evaluate the diversity of Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Trichoptera and Odonata at each river. The highest Simpson's diversity index(D=0.893) and Pielou's evenness index(E=0.803) were recorded at Sungai Jelai while Sungai Ara had the highest value of Margalef's richness index(MgR I=5.698). The variance for the assemblages of Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Trichoptera and Odonata influenced by9 chemical and physical variables was really a satisfactory with total variance explained of 57.2%. The results of canonical correspondence analysis(CCA) model showed that two groups of insects taxa characterized by water *** first group from the CCA analysis clustered the Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Trichoptera and Odonata genera showed that deterioration in dissolved oxygen concentration, pH and nitrate while the second group showed dependence on total dissolved solids(TDS), conductivity, total suspended solid(TSS) and velocity. The study showed that the distribution of Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Trichoptera and Odonata taxa was affected by the environmental interruptions such as human residential area, agricultural plantation and river embankment.

Molecular dynamics simulations have been extensively used to study phonons and gain insight,but direct comparisons to experimental data are often difficult,due to a lack of accurate empirical interatomic potentials for different *** a result,this issue has become a major barrier to realizing the promise associated with advanced atomistic-level modeling ***,we present a general method for specifically optimizing empirical interatomic potentials from ab initio inputs for the study of phonon transport properties,thereby resulting in phonon optimized *** method uses a genetic algorithm to directly fit the empirical parameters of the potential to the key properties that determine whether or not the atomic level dynamics and most notably the phonon transport are described properly.

Pile g eo m etry an d cone p e n e tra tio nte s t （CPT） resu lts w ere used as in p u t variables for pred ictio n o f pile bearin g capacity. The d ata u se d w erecollected from th e existing litera tu re an d consisted o f 50 case records. The application o f LSSVM w ascarried o u t by dividing th e d ata into th re e se ts： a train in g se t for learning th e pro b lem an d obtain in g arelationship b e tw e e n in p u t variables an d pile bearin g capacity, and testin g an d validation sets forevaluation o f th e predictive an d g en eralization ability o f th e o b tain ed relationship. The predictions o f pilebearing capacity by LSSVM w ere evaluated by com paring w ith ex p erim en tal d ata an d w ith th o se bytrad itio n al CPT-based m eth o d s and th e gene ex pression pro g ram m in g （GEP） m odel. It w as found th a t th eLSSVM perform s w ell w ith coefficient o f d eterm in atio n , m ean, an d sta n d ard dev iatio n equivalent to 0.99,1.03, an d 0.08, respectively, for th e testin g set, an d 1, 1.04, an d 0.11, respectively, for th e v alidation set. Thelow values o f th e calculated m ean squared e rro r an d m ean ab so lu te e rro r indicated th a t th e LSSVM w asaccurate in p redicting th e pile bearing capacity. Globalization push container terminal grown rapidly in decade. To fulfill the future traffic requirement, this study highlights marginal expansion planning of infrastructure in a container terminal. By using marginal approach, the expansion plan can be determine correctly and economically stage by stage. A mathematical model has generated to calculate the expansion size, expansion time, interval of expansion, expansion cost, and significant of expansion for each infrastructure respectively. It recommended determining the expansion plan for each infrastructure respectively. This is because one of the infrastructures needs to be expanding but the other may not. The generated model was verified with others model and validated with case study to investigate the practicability of the model. The model serves as expansion decision making tools to assist port expansion planners.

This paper is a result of a collaborative project with INFORMM1 to study the costs associated with harm reduction. Harm reduction is a way of dealing with behavior that damages the health of the persons involved and their community. Many individuals acquire these damaging behaviours（for example,smoking, drinking too much alcohol, practicing un-safe sex and drug abuse） well aware of the adverse consequential effects on their health.. Needle Syringe Exchange Programme（NSEP） is one such harm reduction programme recommended by the WHO to the Ministry of Health in Malaysia in 2005 and has produced encouraging *** the concept of of Total Quality Management(TQMinvolved in harm reduction programmes. The main principle of TQM with its emphasis on the cost of prevention is highly relevant in harm reduction programmes, with their similar emphasis on ‘prevention is better than cure’. Hence, this management accounting model which the team term the 4Cs（currently in the process of being trademarked） is highly relevant and applicable in any harm reduction programme.

Indigofera heterantha commonly called indigo bush is a member of leguminoseae family found in the Himalayan region of Kashmir. A lectin has been isolated from the seeds of Indigofera heterantha by the purification procedure involving anion exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose followed by gel filtration chromatography on Sephadex G 100. Molecular characterization of the lectin was done by gel filtration and SDS-PAGE. Activity of the lectin was checked by hemagglutination assay and the sugar specificity by sugar inhibition tests. The antimicrobial activity of the purified lectin was carried out by Agar disc diffusion using appropriate standards. On the ion exchange column, the bound protein when eluted with 0-0.5 M NaCl gradient emerged as three peaks—peak I, peak II and peak III out of which only peak II showed the hemagglutinating activity. The lectin further resolved into two peaks G1 and G2 on gel filtration, with the lectin activity residing in G1, corresponding to a molecular weight of 70 KDa. The purified lectin named as Indigofera heterantha Lectin (IHL) produced a single band on SDS PAGE (18 KDa), revealing the tetrameric nature of the lectin. It agglutinated human erythrocytes (A, B, ab, and O). Hemagglutination was inhibited by D-galactose, Dmannose and D-arabinose. The lectin is reasonably thermostable showing full activity within a temperature range of 30°C to 90°C. pH stability of the lectin falls in the range of 2-9. IHL demonstrated a remarkable antibacterial activity against the pathogenic bacteria Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Bacillus subtilis. IHL also inhibited the growth of phytopathogenic fungi Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus oryzae and Fusarium oxysporum.
