We report on a pilot study on identifying metal-poor stars pre-enriched by Pair-Instability Supernovae（PISNe）.Very massive,first generation（Population Ⅲ） stars（140 M⊙≤M≤260 M⊙）end their lives as PISNe,which have been predicted by theories,but no relics of PISNe have been observed *** the distinct characteristics of the yields of PISNe,as predicted by theoretical calculations,are a strong odd-even effect,and a strong overabundance of Ca with respect to iron and the solar *** use the latter characteristic to identify metal-poor stars in the Galactic halo that have been pre-enriched by PISNe,by comparing metallicites derived from strong, co-added Fe lines detected in low-resolution（i.e.,R=λ/△λ～2000）spectra of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey（SDSS）,with metallicities determined by the SDSS Stellar Parameters Pipeline（SSPP）.The latter are based on the strength of the CaⅡ K line and assumptions on the Ca/Fe abundance *** are selected as candidates if their metallicity derived from Fe lines is significantly lower than the SSPP *** a sample of 12 300 stars for which SDSS spectroscopy is available,we have identified 18 candidate *** resolution and signal-to-noise ratio spectra of these candidates are being obtained with the Very Large Telescope of the European Southern Observatory and the XSHOOTER spectrograph,to determine their abundance patterns,and to verify our selection *** plan to apply our method to the database of several million stellar spectra to be acquired with the Guo Shou Jing Telescope （LAMOST）in the next five years.

Biomass is of growing interest as a secondary energy source and can be converted to fuels with higher energy density especially by pyrolysis or gasification. Understanding the mechanism and the kinetics of biomass pyrolysis (thermal decomposition) and gasification (conversion of organic material to gases) could be the key to the design of industrial devices capable of processing vast amounts of biomass feedstock. In our work real product components obtained in pyrolysis were took into consideration as well as char and oil as lumped components, and the kinetic constants for a biomass model compound (cellulose) pyrolysis and gasification were identified based on a proposed simplified reaction mechanism within a compartment model structure. A laboratory scale reactor was used for the physical experiments containing consecutive fast pyrolysis and gasification stages using alkali metal (K) containing feedstock, which has a significant effect on the cellulose pyrolysis and gasification. The detailed model was implemented in MATLAB/Simulink environment, and the unknown kinetic parameters were identified based on experimental data. The model was validated based on measurement data, and a good agreement was found. Based on the validated first principle model the optimal parameters were determined as 0.15 mL/min steam flow rate, and 4% K content.

This paper proposes a data-driven hybrid model for forecasting the battery power voltage of transportation robots by combining a wavelet method and a bidirectional deep-learning *** the proposed model,the on-board battery power data is measured and transmitted.A WPD(wavelet packet decomposition)algorithm is employed to decompose the original collected non-stationary series into several relatively more stable *** each subseries,a deep learning–based predictor–bidirectional long short-term memory(BiLSTM)–is constructed to forecast the battery power voltage from one step to three steps *** experiments verify the effectiveness and generalization ability of the proposed hybrid forecasting model,which shows the highest forecasting *** obtained forecasting results can be used to decide whether the robot can complete the given task or needs to be recharged,providing effective support for the safe use of transportation robots.

The Eastern Desert of Egypt suffered a protracted period of deformation triggered by cratonization of the new juvenile crust known as the Arabian Nubian Shield(ANS),which has been proposed for potential gold discoveries associated with the corresponding tectonic *** Fatira area,on the border of Egypt’s Northern and Central Eastern Deserts,is covered with metavolcanic rocks twisted by a dextral relocation of the Fatira Shear Zone(FSZ)relative to the Barud magmatic *** recent study evaluated many deformed post-orogenic granitic intrusions and felsite dikes associated with promising mineralization localities,notably orogenic gold *** combination of various field observations and remote sensing data,followed by the analysis of aeromagnetic enhanced maps,allowed the differentiation of distinct lithologies,structural features,and hydrothermal alterations in the study ***,the integrated results obtained from the different interpretation techniques are utilized to identify and confirm the previously supposed mineralized localities in the Fatira and Abu Zawal areas and predict other matched *** final ASTER,Sentinel 2 hydrothermal alteration,and orientation entropy heat maps demonstrate the association between these mineralized regions and major structures related to the FSZ late stage of deformation rather than other structures studied throughout the area of interest.

The production of higher terminal alcohols through CO hydrogenation according to the Fischer–Tropsch(F–T) process has been a topic of interest since the Institut Fran?ais du Pétrole(IFP) demonstrated shortchain C_1–C_6mixed alcohols production over cobalt–copper based catalysts. A number of catalyst formulations were screened for their suitability at that time. In particular, the addition of Cr, Zn, Al, Mn and V to Co Cu was investigated. In a number of patents, it was shown that catalyst preparation is crucial in these catalyst formulations and that high alcohols selectivity can only be achieved by carefully respecting the procedures and recipes. This short critical review highlights recent developments in Co Cu-based catalysts for higher terminal alcohols synthesis via F–T synthesis. Special attention will be given to catalyst preparation which according to developments in our group is based on oxalate precipitation. This way we show that the close association of Co and Cu on the one hand and promoter/dispersant on the other are of utmost importance to ensure high performance of the catalysts. We shall concentrate on 'Co Cu Mn','Co Cu Mo' and 'Co Cu Nb' catalyst formulations, all prepared via oxalate precipitation and combined with'entrainment techniques' if necessary, and show high total alcohols selectivity can be obtained with tunable Anderson-Schulz-Flory chain-lengthening probability. Either long-chain C_8–C_(14)terminal alcohols as feedstock for plasticizers, lubricants and detergents, or short-chain C_2–C_5alcohols as 'alkanol' fuels or fuel additives can be formed this way.

Hematopoeitic stem cell transplantation(HSCT)using a haploidentical family donor(HAPLO)was long thought to be non-feasible,essentially because of HLA incompatibility leading to graft rejection,severe acute(aGVH)and chronic(cGVH)graft versus host disease(GVH),severe infections and unacceptable nonrelapse mortality(NRM).The group in Perugia in the last decade of the past century[1],was the first to be successful by initiating a positive selection of CD34+cells from peripheral blood stem cell(PBSC)collections,providing T cell depleted grafts with very high doses of CD34+cells to be *** combined with intensive conditioning regimen and profound immunosuppression,the Perugia group obtained the first demonstration of feasibility and *** later improved their results in acute myeloid leukemia(AML)by showing that a mismatch for natural killer(NK)cells in the killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptor(KIR)-human leukocyte-antigen class I(HLA1)donor to recipient direction[2]decreased considerably the relapse incidence(RI).Unfortunately this approach was associated with severe infections,a high NRM and in addition was cumbersome and difficult to reproduce in other non-expert centers.

The paper explores the possibilities of using carbonyl iron in the form of a powder for the manufacture of radar-absorbing paints-reducing the radar signature of the objects that they *** attenuation values in the range of 4-18 GHz for various coating thicknesses,ranging from 0.5 to 2.00 mm with 0.5 mm increment,and for different absorber content-75%and 80%,as well as the use of two different binders in the form of epoxy resins with hardeners,were *** the frequency of 18 GHz and a 1.5 mm thick coating with a 75%absorber content,Epidian 112 resin and Saduramid 10/50 hardener used as a binder,and the maximum attenuation level obtained equalled 20.2 d B at 16 ***,the absorber particle size ranging from 3 to 4μm and its higher mass content resulted in achieving the reflection loss above-12 d B in the entire 8-12.5 GHz range for layers between 1-and 1.5 mm *** qualitative assessment of the tested samples in the context of camouflage in the radar range was also performed,using statistical analysis.

The present work investigates the influences of microalloying with rare earths on the mechanical properties of magnesium *** amount of each rare earth element is controlled below 0.4 wt.%in order not to increase the cost of alloy *** synergic effects from the multi-microalloying with rare earths on the mechanical properties are *** obtained results show that the as-cast magnesium alloys multi-microalloying with rare earths possesses a quite high ductility with a tensile strain up to 25-30%at room ***,these alloys exhibit much better corrosion resistance than AZ31 *** preliminary in situ neutron diffractions on the deformation of these alloys indicate that the multi-microalloying with rare earths seems to be beneficial for the activation of more slip *** deformation becomes more homogeneous and the resultant textures after deformation are weakened.
