Excessive rainfall is one of the triggers for the flooding phenomenon,especially in the tropics with flat or concave *** critical points in the South Tangerang region,which are currently one of the most rapidly developing cities,cannot be ignored from the flooding *** cause disturbing human activities,loss of life and property,and in turn affect the economic stretch in an *** paper aimed to predict rainfall by exploring the application of artificial intelligence techniques such as ANFIS(Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System).The proposed technique combines neural network learning abilities with transparent linguistic representations of fuzzy *** ANFIS model with various input structures and membership functions was built,trained,and tested to evaluate the capability of a *** of six-year rainfall data on a monthly basis in South Tangerang City,Banten found that rainfall prediction based on ANFIS time series is promising where 80%of data testing is well predicted.

The seasonal characteristics and formation mechanism of the thermohaline structure of mesoscale eddy in the South China Sea are investigated using the latest eddy dataset and ARMOR3D data. Eddy-centric composites reveal that the horizontal distribution of temperature anomaly associated with eddy in winter is more of a dipole pattern in upper 50 m and tends to be centrosymmetric below 50 m, while in summer the distribution pattern is centrosymmetric in the entire water column. The horizontal distribution of eddy-induced salinity anomaly exhibits similar seasonal characteristics, except that the asymmetry of the salinity anomaly is weaker. The vertical distribution of temperature anomaly associated with eddy shows a monolayer structure, while the salinity anomaly demonstrates a triple-layer structure. Further analysis indicates that the vertical distribution of the anomalies is related to the vertical structure of background temperature and salinity fields, and the asymmetry of the anomalies in upper 50 m is mainly caused by the horizontal advection of background temperature and salinity.

Cells have evolved DNA damage response （DDR） to repair DNA lesions and thus preserving genomic stability and impeding carcinogenesis. DNA damage induction is accompanied by transient transcription repression. Here, we describe a previously unrecognized role of chromodomain Y-like （CDYL1） protein in fortifying double-strand break （DSB）-induced transcription repression and repair. We showed that CDYL1 is rapidly recruited to damaged euchromatic regions in a poly （ADP-ribose） polymerase 1 （PARP1）-dependent, but ataxia telangiectasia mutated （ATM）-independent, manner. While the C-terminal region, containing the enoyl-CoA hydratase like （ECH） domain, of CDYL1 binds to poly （ADP-ribose）（PAR） moieties and mediates CDYL1 accumulation at DNA damage sites, the chromodomain and histone H3 trimethylated on lysine 9 （H3K9me3） mark are dispensable for its recruitment. Furthermore, CDYL1 promotes the recruitment of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 （EZH2）, stimulates local increase of the repressive methyl mark H3K27me3, and promotes transcription silencing at DSB sites. In addition, following DNA damage induction, CDYL1 depletion causes persistent G2/M arrest and alters H2AX and replication protein A （RPA2） phosphorylation. Remarkably, the ‘traffic-light reporter’ system revealed that CDYL1 mainly promotes homology-directed repair （HDR） of DSBs in vivo. Consequently, CDYL1-knockout cells display synthetic lethality with the chemotherapeutic agent, cisplatin. Altogether, our findings identify CDYL1 as a new component of the DDR and suggest that the HDR-defective ‘BRCAness’ phenotype of CDYL1-deficient cells could be exploited for eradicating cancer cells harboring CDYL1 mutations.

This paper attempts to establish a method for analysing the relationship between the polar and equatorial climate of the Northern Hemisphere. The Arctic Oscillation （AO） is known to have no direct relationship with the monsoon over the Maritime Continent （MC）. Thus, an index called the Siberian High（SH^Maritime Continent（MC） Index （SHMCI） is developed to represent the mean sea level pressure difference between the SH and the warm pool over the MC. This index indicates a strong link with the monsoon circulation. A positive （strong） value of the SHMCI is associated with strong meridional winds and intense and frequent cold surge events over the South China Sea. The correlation between the AO index and the SHMCI is -0.39, which is medium but statistically significant; however, it is not sufficiently conclusive to infer direct correlation. Nevertheless, the SHMCI can be used as a tool to relate the AO with the monsoon over the MC because of the influence demonstrated by the AO towards the SH. Further analysis on the convergence and divergence anomalies over the MC reveals an impact discernible only from the SHMCI. This implies that the SHMCI manifests clearly the relationship between the Arctic and equatorial climate.

Elder abuse is an emerging issue of serious concern with life-threatening consequences. This study aimed to develop and assess the validity and reliability of a new scale to assess elder abuse. A cross-sectional multistage sampling technique was used to obtain a nationally representative sample of older Malaysians. The iterative development process resulted in a 16-item, four-dimension scale. Exploratory factor analysis yielded a 10-item scale with three factors. The value of Cronbach’s alpha for total scale and its subscales indicated sufficient internal consistency. Multitrait scaling analysis also showed good convergent and discriminant validity. Furthermore, predictive validity of the proposed scale was established by demonstrating a statistically significant association between elder abuse and depression through multiple logistic regression analysis. The findings from this study demonstrate an acceptable level of validity and reliability for new scale. This scale can be used by health and social care workers to identify elder abuse cases.
