Objective:Anoikis is apoptosis that is induced when cells detach from the extracellular matrix and neighboring *** anoikis serves as a regulatory barrier,cancer cells often acquire resistance towards anoikis during tumorigenesis to become ***(miRNAs)are short strand RNA molecules that regulate genes post-transcriptionally by binding to mRNAs and reducing the expression of its target *** study aimed to elucidate the role of a novel miRNA,miR-6744-5 p,in regulating anoikis in breast cancer and identify its target ***:An anoikis resistant variant of the luminal A type breast cancer MCF-7 cell line(MCF-7-AR)was generated by selecting and amplifying surviving cells after repeated exposure to growth in *** RNA microarray analysis identified a list of dysregulated miRNAs from which miR-6744-5 p was chosen for overexpression and knockdown studies in ***,the miRNA was also overexpressed in a triple-negative breast cancer cell line,MDA-MB-231,to evaluate its ability to impair the metastatic potential of breast cancer ***:This study showed that overexpression and knockdown of miR-6744-5 p in MCF-7 increased and decreased anoikis sensitivity,***,overexpression of miR-6744-5 p in MDA-MB-231 increased anoikis and also decreased tumor cell invasion in vitro and in ***,NAT1 enzyme was identified and validated as the direct target of miR-6744-5 ***:This study has proven the ability of miR-6744-5 p to increase anoikis sensitivity in both luminal A and triple negative breast cancer cell lines,highlighting its therapeutic potential in treating breast cancer.

The role of macroautophagy （hereafter autophagy） in cancer biology and response to clinical intervention is complex. It is clear that autophagy is dysregulated in a wide variety of tumor settings, both during tumor initiation and progression, and in response to therapy. However, the pleiotropic mechanistic roles of autophagy in controlling cell behavior make it difficult to predict in a given tumor setting what the role of autophagy, and, by extension, the therapeutic outcome of targeting autophagy, might be. In this review we summarize the evidence in the literature supporting pro- and anti-tumorigenic and -therapeutic roles of autophagy in cancer. This overview encompasses roles of autophagy in nutrient management, cell death, cell senescence, regulation of proteotoxic stress and cellular homeostasis, regulation of tumor-host interactions and participation in changes in metabolism. We also try to understand, where possible, the mechanistic bases of these roles for autophagy. We specifically expand on the emerging role of genetically- engineered mouse models of cancer in shedding light on these issues in vivo. We also consider how any or all of the above functions of autophagy proteins might be targetable by extant or future classes of pharmacologic agents. We conclude by briefly exploring non-canonical roles for subsets of the key autophagy proteins in cellular processes, and how these might impact upon cancer.

This research is made to visualize the boundary layer flow by a curved stretching sheet embedded in porous medium. The geometry is bended(curved), therefore the curvilinear coordinates are used to model the present *** is electrically conducting with the presence of uniform magnetic field. The governing non-linear partial differential equation reduces to non-linear ordinary differential equations by using the dimensionless suitable transformations. The numerical solutions are obtained by using the method bvp4c from MATLAB. The effects of curvature parameter, nondimensional magnetic parameter, and porosity parameter on the velocity field and skin friction coefficient are *** skin friction profile enhances with enhancing the values of porosity and magnetic parameter. Comparison of the present results with the existing results in the literature for the flat surface is also given.

Despite many initiatives to help foster innovation over the last decade,Bahrain has yet to realise its full potential,indicated by low levels of published research,patent registrations,and entrepreneurial *** COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of sustainable innovation for economic *** study aimed to identify the critical factors needed to stimulate innovation,as well as any *** a case study approach,emerging findings from an online survey of participants from a range of private and government organizations were explored through in-depth interviews with selected"innovation influencers".It was found that the economic and cultural environments in Bahrain favor a conservative approach to innovation,with the opening of new market opportunities with existing products the most reported form *** need for a sustainable economic recovery post-pandemic has raised awareness of the importance of innovation in all its *** environmental factors influencing innovation are charted in an ecosystem model,with effective leadership and a national strategy identified as key *** Innovation Ecosystem derived from this case study of Bahrain has wider applicability as a benchmarking *** mapping the local context against framework elements,identified gaps can usefully inform a sustainable innovation strategy at both a national and organizational level.

The present study investigates the axisymmetric stagnation point radiativeflow of a Cu-al2O3/water hybrid nanofluid over a radially stretched/shrunk *** this paper,a new mathematical model has been developed by taking into consideration the concept of different nanoparticles concentration in a hybrid nanofluid,which are Brownian motion and thermophor-esis of nanoparticles.A new model for entropy generation has also been provided in the present *** non-dimensional governing equations of the developed mathematical model are solved using newly developed and efficient overlapping grid spectral collocation *** stability and residual error test are provided here to show the accuracy of the numer-ical method in this mathematical *** outcomes offluidflow,temperature,and two different types of concentration profiles are depicted,and described in graphical and tabular *** the limiting instances,comparison shows excellent agreement among current and results established in the *** the strength of magneticfield is seen to increase the radial component offluid velocity as well as the entropy generated within the *** different nanofluid concentration profiles are increasing and decreasing with rising thermophor-esis and Brownian motion parameters,respectively,from a particular height above the disk because of the revised nanofluid boundary *** profile increases here with increasing Biot number,and increasing Brinkman number causes higher entropy generation number for both stretching and shrinking *** enhanced thermal characteristics of the hybrid nanofluid over the single particle nanofluid has been observed.

Objective:To evaluate the anti-inflammatory potential of peptide/polypeptide fraction of aloe vera through in vitro and in vivo ***:The peptide/polypeptide fraction from aloe vera was obtained through trichloroacetic acid *** anti-inflammatory property of the peptide/polypeptide fraction was tested by protein denaturation,membrane stabilization *** effect of the fraction on RAW 264.7 cell viability was examined by MTT *** nitric oxide level was determined through Griess ***-αand IL-6 levels were estimated using ELISA *** vivo studies were carried out in male Wistar rats through injection of Freund’s adjuvant in the hind *** edema was measured through the Vernier scale and levels of alanine aminotransferase,aspartate transaminase,TNF-α,IL-6,and secretory phospholipase A2 were estimated through their respective kits after fourteen days of *** Pad Prism6 was used for analyzing the ***:The peptide/polypeptide extract inhibited protein denaturation with an IC50 value of(218.9±15.6)μg/m L and stabilized the membrane of red blood cells with an IC50 value of(275.9±19.1)μg/m *** extract showed no changes in cell morphology or cytotoxicity up to the concentration of 20μg/mL in MTT *** peptide/polypeptide fraction markedly reduced the levels of proinflammatory markers and mediators in both in vitro and in vivo ***:The results indicate that the peptide/polypeptide fraction of aloe vera has antiinflammatory property through inhibition of inflammatory markers and mediators responsible for NF-κB and mitogen-activated protein kinase pathways.

Effect of Synthesis Technique and Carbonate Content on the Crystallinity and Morphology of Carbonated Hydroxyapatite

The syntheses of nanosized carbonated hydroxyapatite （CHA） were performed by comparing dropwise and direct pouring of acetone solution of Ca（NO3）2·4H2O into mixture of （NH4）2HPO4 and NH4HCO3 at room temperature controlled at pH 11. Direct pouring method was later applied to study the increment of carbonate content in syntheses. The as-synthesized powders were characterized by various characterization techniques. The crystallographic results of the produced powders were obtained from X-ray diffraction analysis, whilst the carbonate content in the produced powders was determined by the CHNS/O elemental analyzer. Fourier transform infrared analysis confirmed that the CHA powders formed were B-type. Field emission scanning electron microscopy revealed that the powders were highly agglomerated in nanosized range and hence energy filtered transmission electron microscopy was employed to show elongated particles which decreased with increasing carbonate content.
