Blood Count Abnormalities Associated with Death in Patients Infected with SARS-COV-2 at the Ziguinchor EpidemicTreatment Center (ETC)

Introduction: SARS-COV-2 infection is a real public health challenge for the World Health Organization and for our country. It is responsible for numerous hematological abnormalities in infected patients. Objectives: To describe the haemogram abnormalities in patients infected with SARS-COV-2 and to determine which ones are associated with death. Material and Method: We conducted a retrospective, descriptive, analytical, cross-sectional study from March 2020 to September 2021. The study included all patients hospitalized with RT-PCR-confirmed COVID-19 who performed a blood count. We evaluated the blood count profile, the pathologies found and the associated blood count abnormalities. Results: A total of 263 patients were included. The mean age of the patients was 63.77 years (range 12 - 90 years). The male sex represented 54.75% (n = 144) while the female sex was 45.25% (n = 119) (sex ratio = 1.21). The most common pathologies were: diabetes: 30.03% (n = 79), high blood pressure: 41.04% (n = 108), and Chronic kidney disease: 7.98 (n = 21). The abnormalities of the haemogram found were essential: anaemia 28.13% (n = 121), hyperleukocytosis with neutrophilic predominance: 29.3% (126), lymphopenia: 34.41% (n = 148), thrombocytopenia: 8.16% (n = 35). The search for hematological factors associated with death in patients showed a significant difference between hyperleukocytosis (p = 0.000) and lymphopenia (p = 0.0001). Conclusion: SARS-COV-2 disease was a mortality factor when associated with lymphopenia and hyperleukocytosis in our series.

A quantum cascade laser infrared spectrometer for CO_2 stable isotope analysis：Field implementation at a hydrocarbon contaminated site under bio-remediation

Real-time methods to monitor stable isotope ratios of CO_2 are needed to identify biogeochemical origins of CO_2 emissions from the soil–air interface. An isotope ratio infra-red spectrometer（IRIS） has been developed to measure CO_2 mixing ratio with δ~13C isotopic signature, in addition to mixing ratios of other greenhouse gases（CH_4, N2_O）. The original aspects of the instrument as well as its precision and accuracy for the determination of the isotopic signature δ~13C of CO_2 are discussed. A first application to biodegradation of hydrocarbons is presented, tested on a hydrocarbon contaminated site under aerobic bio-treatment. CO_2 flux measurements using closed chamber method is combined with the determination of the isotopic signature δ~13C of the CO_2 emission to propose a non-intrusive method to monitor in situ biodegradation of hydrocarbons. In the contaminated area, high CO_2 emissions have been measured with an isotopic signature δ~13C suggesting that CO_2 comes from petroleum hydrocarbon *** first field implementation shows that rapid and accurate measurement of isotopic signature of CO_2 emissions is particularly useful in assessing the contribution of contaminant degradation to the measured CO_2 efflux and is promising as a monitoring tool for aerobic bio-treatment.

Prediction of protein and amino acid composition and digestibility in individual feedstuffs and mixed diets for pigs using near-infrared spectroscopy

Knowledge of the amounts and digestibility of amino acids in pig feedstuffs is essential for calculating the appropriate inclusion level in a complete *** chemical analysis and in vivo digestibility trials are time-consuming and costly and cannot be used for routine ***-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS)offers a rapid,cost effective and environmentally friendly method for evaluating *** models were developed using NIRS to predict the content of crude protein and 18 amino acids from a wide range of feedstuffs used in pig production(n=607).The samples ranged from single feed ingredients(containing amino acids from 0.3 to 129.8 g/kg of dry matter)to feed mixtures(containing amino acids from 1.2 to 53.2 g/kg of dry matter).The predictive ability of the calibrations was tested with an independent dataset(n=150)and with ***,we compare these calibrations with calibrations developed on more narrowly defined groups of samples and with predictions from regression analysis of crude *** models were able to predict the concentrations of crude protein and 18 amino acids with good levels of precision and high coefficients of determination for calibration(RSQ^(CAL))from 0.91 to 0.99 and validation(RSQ^(VAL))from 0.87 to *** models were able to predict all amino acids except tryptophan and valine with greater accuracy than those from protein *** also developed calibration models to predict the apparent ileal and total tract digestibility of protein and amino *** the exception of tryptophan,RSQ values(>0.7)and standard error of cross validation(SECV)values(<5%)were obtained for the digestibility of most of the amino *** conclusion,NIRS can be used to predict crude protein and amino acid concentrations from a wide range of single ingredients and feed mixtures used for pig diets without separate models for each *** digestibility of protein and amino acids can be predicted with an

The Mechanisms of SAA/TLR4 Inducing Angiogenesis in Rheumatoid Arthritis through NETs Formation

Objective: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease in which angiogenesis represents a critical early event of synovial inflammation. The present study aimed to reveal the potential molecular mechanisms of SAA/TLR4 induction of angiogenesis through NETs in RA. Materials and methods: Firstly, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence were used to determinate TLR4 and NETs expression in synovial tissue, respectively. ELISA was used to detect the content of SAA, MPO and NE in serum and synovial fluid of patients. DNA quantification was done by fluorescence. DNA fluorescence staining was used to compare NETs formation in RA and HC sera, and to investigate the mechanism of NETs formation induced by SAA stimulation. PicoGreen DNA testing was used to characterize the DNA in the supernatants. Also, DNA fluorescence staining to explore whether NETs formation induced by SAA was dependent or independent on NADPH oxidase pathway. MTT assay, Wound healing assay, Tube formation assay were performed to analyze human veins umbilical cells (HUVECs) proliferation, migration, and tube vessels formation, respectively under NETs or NETs + DNase stimulants. Results: Firstly, we demonstrated that TLR4 was predominantly and widely expressed in synovial tissues with elevated serum levels of SAA, compared to osteoarthritis (OA) patients, and the similar results were observed for NETs formation. Afterwards, in a series of in vitro experiments, we reported an increased MPO and NE levels, and a relatively decreased DNA level in the sera of RA patients. Set apart, the levels of MPO and NE in RA were correlated to the disease activity. Moreover, an increased spontaneous NETs formation was observed in RA patients, enhanced under SAA stimulation and regulated by TLR4 activation. And the total DNA expressed in RA patients was partly composed of NET-DNA. Also, SAA induced NETs formation dependent on NADPH pathway. 长江中下游成矿带作为中国东部重要的成矿带之一,成矿地质条件、成矿规律和成矿模式的相关研究已经十分深入,形成了一系列公认的理论研究成果,本文重点论述了成矿带成矿地质条件和成矿规律方面研究的新进展,并在此基础上构筑了成矿带的成矿模式。本文主要开展了以下总结工作:(1)将成矿带的构造要素突破以往按构造单元分解的做法,确立跨构造单元的"复合构造系统",结合成矿带成岩成矿作用特点,重新确定了长江中下游成矿带的范围,并对成矿亚带进行了重新划分;(2)收集汇总了长江中下游成矿带近年来国内外学者最新的成岩成矿年龄数据,总结了矿床时空分布规律;(3)从地质,地球物理和地球化学等方面,总结归纳了沿基底结合带复活的网状断裂系统,阐明了成矿带的控矿构造格架,分析了长江中下游成矿带的成因规律;(4)补充和完善了断隆区和断凹区的成矿模式,并初步构筑了长江中下游成矿带综合成矿模式。提出长江中下游成矿带内主体成岩成矿作用总体上分为走滑挤压阶段(146~135Ma)、走滑引张阶段(135~126Ma)和拉张伸展阶段(126~123Ma)等三个阶段,古太平洋板块作用导致的壳幔过程,引发含元古代弧岩浆岩源区活化和中生代的构造活化("双活化")是长江中下游成矿带形成的主要机制。

Genesis of Mafic Microgranular Enclaves in the Shaocunwu Granodiorite,Southern China,and their Implications:Evidence from Zircon and Whole-rock Geochemistry

Magmatic microgranular enclaves(MMEs)are widely developed in the Shaocunwu granodiorite at the northeast margin of the eastern Jiangnan orogenic *** geology showed that the MMEs occur as irregular ellipsoids near the edge of the intrusion,and consist of diorite,dominantly composed of amphibole,biotite,and plagioclase grains,with minor acicular *** U-Pb dating showed the ages of the host granodiorites and MMEs are 145.9±1.1 Ma and 145.6±2.5 Ma,respectively,indicating both originated during coeval late Jurassic ***-rock geochemical results show that the host granodiorite and MMEs have similar rare earth and trace element partition curves in spider grams,and similar 87Sr/86Sr,and 147Nd/144Nd isotope ratios,and their zircon 177Hf/176Hf isotopic ratios are *** studies indicate that both the host granodiorite and MMEs formed by mixing of coeval *** Ti thermometers and oxygen fugacity of the host granodiorite and the MMEs show high oxygen fugacity,similar to that of W-Cu(Mo)mineralized granitoids in the eastern Jiangnan orogenic belt.A similar magma mixing process was probably one of the mechanisms that generated the W-Cu(Mo)fertile melts.

Implementation of a targeted HPV educational program in a population with HIV

Patients living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLWH) are at higher risk of developing human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated *** prospective,longitudinal study evaluated the baseline knowledge of PLWH regarding HPV infection and its association with head neck cancer,and it aimed to determine whether a focused educational session could promote both short-and long-term knowledge acquisition in this *** subjects participated in an interactive educational session and completed pre-test and immediate and delayed (4-month) post-test *** compared to their pre-test answers,subjects demonstrated significant improvements in all 28 questions immediately following *** preservation was demonstrated 4 months after initial evaluation,with subjects performing significantly better than their pre-test scores in 24 of the original 28 *** results suggest that short,focused,educational programs for PLWH may promote a better understanding of HPV's association with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and HPV risk factors,methods of transmission,and prevention.

Parental social support, perceived competence and enjoyment in school physical activity

Background:Beginning in the elementary school years,there are differences among children on how they perceive their competence in physical activity(PA).Children's competence perceptions may influence their affective reactions to PA.A crucial question is how to motivate children who hold low competence perceptions to enhance their enjoyment and PA *** parents play critical roles in children's development and socialization,social support from parents can be an important factor to complement teachers'effort to enhance children's enjoyment and PA *** this research we identified the associations among children's beliefs about parental social support,perceived competence,and enjoyment in school ***:Three hundred and twenty children(9-11 years old)participated in a two-wave *** the first wave,children completed questionnaires measuring their beliefs about parental social support,perceived competence,and enjoyment in school PA;they reported their enjoyment again 8 months later at the second ***:Both concurrent and longitudinal analyses revealed that beliefs about parental social support were important factors associated with children's enjoyment in school PA,especially among girls with low competence ***:Family socialization factors should be taken into *** efficacy of individual and community-level strategies should be included and evaluated when designing effective intervention strategies that enhance children's PA in school.
