Non-improvement of atrophic gastritis in cases of gastric cancer after successful Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy

BACKGRoUND Helicobacter pylori(***)infection is closely related to the development of gastric cancer(GC).However,GC can develop even after *** ***,it would be extremely useful if GC could be predicted after *** Kyoto classification score for gastritis(GA)is closely related to cancer ***,how the score for GC changes after eradication before onset is not well *** To investigate the characteristics of the progression of Kyoto classification scores for GC after *** *** Eradication of *** was confirmed in all patients using either the urea breath test or the stool antigen *** Kyoto classification score of GC patients was evaluated by endoscopy at the time of event onset and three years *** ad-dition,the modified atrophy score was evaluated and compared between the GC group and the control GA *** In total,30 cases of early GC and 30 cases of chronic GA were *** pathology of the cancer cases was differentiated adenocarcinoma,except for one case of undifferentiated *** total score of the Kyoto classifi-cation was significantly higher in the GC group both at the time of cancer onset and three years earlier(4.97 vs 3.73,P=0.0034;4.2 vs 3.1,P=0.0035,respectively).The modified atrophy score was significantly higher in the GC group both at the time of cancer onset and three years earlier and was significantly improved only in the GA group(5.3 vs 5.3,P=0.5;3.73 vs 3.1,P=0.0475,respectively).CoNCLUSIoN The course of the modified atrophy score is useful for predicting the onset of GC after *** with severe atrophy after *** eradication require careful monitoring.

Cluster structures in light unstable nuclei are discussed. The structures of neutron-rich Be isotopes are theoretically investigated and the molecular orbital bond structure and its role in the vanishing of the neutron magic number N = 8 are discussed. The two-body cluster resonances in highly excited states of neutron-rich Li, Be and B isotopes are predicted theoretically.

Superficial foveal avascular zone area changes before and after idiopathic epiretinal membrane surgery

To investigate the foveal morphological changes and foveal avascular zone（FAZ）area before and after epiretinal membrane（ERM）***-two eyes with treatmentnaive ERM were included in this retrospective *** central foveal thickness（CFT）and FAZ area were measured via swept-source optical coherence tomography（SS-oCT）and oCT angiography pre-and *** unaffected fellow eyes were used as *** preoperative superficial FAZ area was significantly smaller in patients（0.08±0.04 mm^2）than in controls（0.33±0.09 mm^2;P〈0.001）.The postoperative superficial FAZ（0.12±0.06 mm^2）area was significantly greater than the preoperative area（P〈0.001）.The preoperative superficial FAZ area was strongly negatively correlated with CFT（P〈0.001,rho=-0.763）.ERM induced significant foveal morphological changes and reduction of the superficial FAZ *** thickness was restored and FAZ area increased ***,the process is rather slow and the recovery is incomplete.

Effects of electrochemical synthetic conditions on surface property and photocatalytic performance of copper and iron-mixed p-type oxide electrodes

Earth-abundant copper and iron-mixed oxide（Cuo/CuFeo_2; CFo） film electrodes are synthesized using an electrochemical deposition（ED） technique at two different ED potentials（-0.36 and-0.66 V vs saturated calomel electrode（SCE）; denoted as ED-1 and ED-2, respectively）. Then, their surface morphologies are compared, and the photo（electro）catalytic activities for the reduction of Cr（VI） are examined in aqueous solutions at pH 7 under simulated sunlight（AM 1.5 G; 100 mW cm（-2））. The degree of the electrical potential applied to the ED process significantly affects the thickness of the synthesized electrode film and the intensity ratio of the diffraction peaks of Cuo（111） and CuFeo_2（012）. A 200 μm thick ED-2 sample with a distinct stacking of Cuo on CuFeo_2 exhibits a larger broadband absorption spectrum than the 50-μm thick ED-1 with less separate stacking. Furthermore, the ED-2 sample has a higher intensity ratio of the diffraction peaks of Cuo（111） and CuFe02（012） than ED-1. As-synthesized ED-2 samples produce larger photocurrents, leading to faster Cr（VI） reduction on the surface under given potential bias（-0.5 V vs SCE）or bias-free conditions. The energy levels（i.e., flatband potential） for the two samples are almost the same（only 10 mV difference）, presumably supposing that the enhanced photoactivity of the ED-2 sample for Cr（VI） reduction is due to the facilitated charge transfer. The time-resolved photoluminescence emission spectra analysis reveal that the lifetime（r） of the charge carriers in the ED-1 sample is 0.103 ns, which decreases to 0.0876 ns in the ED-2. The ED-2 sample synthesized at a high negative potential is expected to contribute greatly to the application of other solar-to-fuel energy conversion fields as a highly efficient electrode material.

Altered pharmacokinetics of zalcitabine by concurrent use of NSAIDs in rats

Development of highly active coated monolith SCR catalyst with strong abrasion resistance for low-temperature application

Monolith SCR catalysts coated with V2os- Wo3/Tio2 were prepared by varying binder and coating thickness. Comparing with a monolith extruded with 100% V2o5-Wo3/Tio2 powder, a coated monolith with a catalyst-coating layer of 260 μm in thickness exhibited the similar initial Nox reduction activity at 250℃. After 4 h abrasion （attrition） in an air stream containing 300 g. m^-3 fine sands （50-100μm） at a superficial gas velocity of 10m·s^-1, the catalyst still has the activity as a 100% molded monolith does in a 24-h activity test and it retains about 92% of its initial activity at 250℃. Estimation of the equivalent durable hours at a fly ash concentration of 1.0 g.m^-3 in flue gas and a gas velocity of 5 m.s^-1 demonstrated that this coated monolith catalyst is capable of resisting abrasion for 13 months without losing more than 8% of its initial activity. The result suggests the great potential of the coated monolith for application to de-Nox of flue gases with low fly ash concentrations from, such as glass and ceramics manufacturing processes.

RNA in situ hybridization （ISH）, including chromogenic ISH （CISH） and fluorescent ISH （FISH）, has become a powerful tool for revealing the spatial distribution ofgene transcripts in model organisms. Previously, we developed a robust protocol for wholemount RNA CISH in the pea aphid Acyrthosiphon pisum, an emerging insect genomicmodel. In order to improve the resolving capacity of gene detection, we comprehensively surveyed current protocols of whole-mount RNA-FISH and developed protocols that allow,using confocal microscopy, clearer visualization of target messenger RNAs （mRNAs） - including those subcellularly localized and those with spatially overlapping expression. Wefind that Fast dye-based substrate fluorescence （SF）, tyramide signal amplification （TSA）, and TSA Plus all enable identifying gene expression thanks to multiplex amplificationof fluorescent signals. By contrast, methods of direct fluorescence （DF） do not allow visualizing signals. Detection of a single gene target was achieved with SF and TSA Plusfor most mRNAs, whereas TSA only allowed visualization of abundant transcripts such as Apvasl andAppiwi2 in the germ cells. For detection of multiple gene targets using doubleFISH, we recommend：（i） TSA/TSA, rather than TSA Plus/TSA Plus for colocalized mRNAs abundantly expressed in germ ceils, as proteinase K treatment can be omitted;and （ii） SF/TSA Plus for other gene targets such as Apenl and Apen2 as inactivation of enzyme conjugates is not required. SF/SF is not ideal for double FISH experiments due tosignal blurring. Based on these new conditions for RNA-FISH, we have obtained a better understanding of germline specification and embryonic segmentation in the pea *** anticipate that the RNA-FISH protocols for the pea aphid may also be used for other aphids and possibly other insect species, thus expanding the range of species from whichuseful insights into development and evolution may be obtained.

Direct catalytic conversion of methane to benzene at non-oxidative condition is considered as one of key reac-tions for constitution of sustainable carbon-cycling processes,since either biomethane or Co_(2)-based synthetic methane can serve as its feed *** this concern may motivate many researchers over the world to make their continuous effort to gain deep insight into the catalytic mechanism of this catalysis system and the essential cause of the catalyst deactivation,successful development of a catalyst with high performance,enhanced coking resistance and long-term operating stability will be the key to its industrial *** in this review pa-per,we demonstrate the high catalytic activity and stability of our two shaped Mo/HZSM-5 catalysts developed respectively for fixed-bed and fluidized-bed operations at severe reaction ***,a pos-sibly high aromatization temperature is required to attain a desired high benzene formation rate,but adopting such a temperature will certainly accelerate coke formation and catalyst ***,the focus of the catalyst development was laid on finding various effective ways of suppressing coke accumulation and catalyst deactivation at practically required severe reaction conditions,and much effort was made to attain the *** a result,a highly active and selective pelleted Mo/HZSM-5 catalyst has been successfully developed and was stably run in a fixed-bed reactor under cyclic regeneration operation mode over 1000 *** parallel a binder-free,fluidizable Mo/HZSM-5 catalyst with certain mechanical strength has also been developed and successfully tested in a dual circulating fluidized-bed reactor system to provide a stable benzene yield of about 12%at 1073 K and 3000 ml/g/h space velocity.

Temporally Consistent Depth Map Estimation for 3D Video Generation and Coding

In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for temporally consistent depth map estimation to generate three-dimensional video. The proposed algorithm adaptively computes the matching cost using a temporal weighting function, which is obtained by block-based moving object detection and motion estimation with variable block sizes. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm improves the temporal consistency of the depth video and reduces by about 38% both the flickering artefact in the synthesized view and the number of coding bits for depth video coding.

BACKGRoUND Primary hyperparathyroidism(PHPT)is the most common cause of pregnancyrelated *** can cause maternal and fetal complications in pregnant *** anesthesia for non-obstetric surgery in pregnant women is associated with maternal hazards and concerns regarding long-term neonatal neurocognitive *** removal of the lesion in mid-pregnancy is currently the primary treatment option for pregnant patients with ***,the blood calcium concentration at which surgery should be considered remains under discussion due to the risk of *** SUMMARY A 31-year-old nulliparous woman at 11 wk of gestation was admitted to our hospital for *** patient had a history of intrauterine fetal death with unknown etiology at 16 wk of gestation 1 year *** blood test results showed that the serum calcium level was elevated to 12.9 mg/dL,and the parathyroid hormone level was elevated to 157 pg/*** a neck ultrasound,it revealed a 0.8 cm×1.5 cm sized oval,hypoechoic mass in the upper posterior of the left thyroid gland,which was compatible with parathyroid *** cervical plexus block(SCPB)for parathyroidectomy was *** surgery,the obstetrician checked the status of the fetus,and there were no abnormal *** then her calcium level returned to normal values after one week of surgery and a healthy male neonate of 2910 g was delivered vaginally at 38 wk of *** our case suggests that SCPB can be an anesthetic option for parathyroidectomy during the first trimester of pregnancy.
