Vertical variations in planar lamination of marine shale: Elucidating hydrodynamic changes during the Ordovician-Silurian transition on the Upper Yangtze Block

The hydrodynamics and their evolution on the Upper Yangtze Block during the Ordovician-Silurian transition period remain unclear. The present study is an assessment of how regional and global events may have influenced the hydrodynamic evolution based on a planar lamination investigation of the shales from the Upper Yangtze Block. Analyses of large thin sections and argon-ion polished thin sections using field emission-scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM) showed that there are four types of planar lamination, namely, silty graded planar lamination(SGPL), silt-clay graded planar lamination(SCGPL), silt-clay interlaminated planar lamination(SCIPL), and paper-like planar lamination(PPL). SGPL is formed by turbidity current with a flow speed less than 15 cm/s. SCGPL is formed by turbidity currents with a flow speed less than 15 cm/s for normal grading type and 15-25 cm/s for alternating grading type. SCIPL has a continuum of sparsely spaced type, closely spaced type, and alternating type, which is formed by bottom current with an increasing flow speed from 15 to 25 cm/s to above 25 cm/s. PPL can be divided into normal grading and composite grading types. The former is formed by vertical settling, while the latter is formed by bottom current with a flow speed of 5-15 cm/s. Vertically, types of planar lamination varied from SGPL to PPL and then SCIPL manifesting the waxing and waning of flow speed with a positive excursion at graptolite biozone Metabolograptus extraordinarius(WF4) and a negative excursion at graptolite biozone Persculptograptus persculptus(LM1). The sudden decrease in flow speed across Linxiang and graptolite biozone Paraorthograptus pacificus(WF3) and the subsequent progressive increase from graptolite biozone Akidograptus ascensus(LM2)to graptolite biozone Demirastrites triangulatus(LM6) and to graptolite biozone Stimulograptus sedgwickii(LM8) during deposition of the Ordovician-Silurian transition succession on the Upper Yangtze Block were linked to th

The promotion of quantum network applications demands the scalable connection of quantum resources. It is preferable to set up multiple logical networks coexisting on a single physical network infrastructure to accommodate a larger number of *** we present a quantum virtual network architecture that offers this level of scalability, without being constrained to a fixed physical-layer network relying solely on passive multiplexing components. The architecture can be understood as arising from the superposition of a fully connected entanglement distribution network and port-based virtual local area network, which group multiusers by access ports. In terms of hardware, we leverage a semiconductor chip with a high figure-of-merit modal overlap to directly generate high-quality polarization entanglement, and a streamlined polarization analysis module, which requires only one single-photon detector for each end user. We experimentally perform the BBM92 QKD protocol on the five-user quantum virtual network and demonstrate voice and image encryption on a campus area network. Our results may provide insights into the realization of large-scale quantum networks with integrated and cost-efficient photonic architecture.

伴随着国家石油天然气管网集团成立,“全国一张网”初步形成,全国储气能力建设工作加快推进,持续推动全国油气管网设施公平开放,天然气干线管输“硬瓶颈”基本消除,气源及基础设施供应能力均能充分保障,油气管网设施运营效率稳步提升。目前国内运营9座液化天然气接收站,是运营规模最大的主体之一。作为接收站气化外输的最后一个环节,计量的准确性和公平性对贸易交接的顺利进行尤为关键。为此,本文参考国内已投产接收站的计量撬座系统,结合国内外天然气计量标准及计量设备的计量检定规程以及计量撬座系统设计规范,介绍了典型的接收站外输计量系统的主要设备组成、投产控制要点、清管作业流程优化及控制要点,为以后投产的接收站计量人员提供参考。

A new micromechanical approach of micropolar continuum modeling for 2-D periodic cellular material

In this paper, we present a new united approach to formulate the equivalent micropolar constitutive relation of two-dimensional（2-D） periodic cellular material to capture its non-local properties and to explain the size effects in its structural analysis. The new united approach takes both the displacement compatibility and the equilibrium of forces and moments into consideration, where Taylor series expansion of the displacement and rotation fields and the extended averaging procedure with an explicit enforcement of equilibrium are adopted in the micromechanical analysis of a unit *** numerical examples, the effective micropolar constants obtained in this paper and others derived in the literature are used for the equivalent micropolar continuum simulation of cellular solids. The solutions from the equivalent analysis are compared with the discrete simulation solutions of the cellular solids. It is found that the micropolar constants developed in this paper give satisfying results of equivalent analysis for the periodic cellular material.

Suspension Polymerization of Methyl Methacrylate Stabilized Solely by Palygorskite Nano Fibers

A kind of fibrous clay, palygorskite （PAL）, was used as the sole stabilizer in suspension polymerization without the using of any other stabilizer usually used, especially polymeric stabilizers. In order to improve the compatibility with the organic monomer, PAL nano fibers were organically modified with silane coupling agent methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane （MPS）. Transmission electron microscopy （TEM） and Fourier-transform infrared （FTIR） spectroscopy results show that the hydrolyzed MPS was attached onto PAL surface through Si--O--Si bonds formation without morphology change of PAL. At a loading amount of PAL to monomer as low as 0.36 wt%, effective stabilization could be achieved. After suspension polymerization, spherical poly（methyl methacrylate）（PMMA） particles were obtained. Scanning electron microscopy （SEM） analysis on both the outer surface and the inner cracked surface of the spherical PMMA particles indicates that the PAL particles reside on the surface of the PMMA spheres. The densely stacked PAL together with attached silane coupling agent stabilized the droplets throughout the suspension polymerization.

Effect of net carriers at the interconnection layer in tandem organic solar cells

Tandem cell with structure of indium tin oxide(ITO)/molybdenum oxide(MoO_(3))/fullerene(C60)/copper phthalocyanine(CuPc)/C60/tris-8-hydroxy-quinolinato aluminum(Alq_(3))/Al was fabricated to study the effect of net carriers at the interconnection layer. The open circuit voltage and short circuit current were found to be 1.15 V and 0.56 mA/cm^(2),respectively. Almost the same performance(1.05 V, 0.58 mA/cm^(2)) of tandem cell with additional recombination layer(ITO/MoO_(3)/C60/Alq_(3)/Al/Ag/MoO_(3)/CuPc/C60/Alq_(3)/Al) demonstrates that the carrier balance is more crucial than carrier recombination. The net holes at the interconnection layer caused by more carrier generation from the back cell on one hand would enhance the recombination with electrons from the front cell and on the other hand would quench the excitons produced in CuPc of the back cell.

Networked-guarantee loans may cause systemic risk related concern for the government and banks in *** prediction of the default of enterprise loans is a typical machine learning based classification problem, and the networked guarantee makes this problem very difficult to solve. As we know, a complex network is usually stored and represented by an adjacency matrix. It is a high-dimensional and sparse matrix, whereas machine-learning methods usually need lowdimensional dense feature representations. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a binary higher-order network embedding method to learn the low-dimensional representations of a guarantee network. We first set vertices of this heterogeneous economic network by binary roles (guarantor and guarantee), and then define high-order adjacent measures based on their roles and economic domain knowledge. Afterwards, we design a penalty parameter in the objective function to balance the importance of network structure and adjacency. We optimize it by negative sampling based gradient descent algorithms,which solve the limitation of stochastic gradient descent on weighted edges without compromising efficiency. Finally, we test our proposed method on three real-world network datasets. The result shows that this method outperforms other start-of-the-art algorithms for both classification accuracy and robustness, especially in a guarantee network.
