The motion of laser-driven electrons quivers with an average energy termed pondermotive *** explore electron dynamics driven by bright squeezed vacuum(BSV),finding that BSV induces width oscillations,akin to electron quivering in laser light,with an equivalent ponderomotive *** identify closed and open trajectories of the electronic width that are associated with high harmonic generation and above-threshold ionization,respectively,similarly to trajectories of the electron position when its motion is driven by coherent *** the case of bound electrons,the width oscillations may lead to ionization with noisy sub-cycle *** results are foundational for strong-field and free-electron quantum optics,as they shed light on ionization,high harmonic generation,and nonlinear Compton scattering in BSV.

针对结合星地观测与模型定量模拟消光性气溶胶光学特性及黑碳质量空间分布这一热点问题,利用TROPOMI卫星紫外波段观测数据与AERONET地基观测数据,基于“核-壳”假设下的米散射模型提出了一种准确量化黑碳气溶胶质量空间分布的模拟方法,并对北京、中国香港、首尔三个站点的模拟结果进行分析与验证。多源数据约束后米散射模型模拟得到的结果显示:北京的吸收系数在0.04~0.13之间,中国香港的吸收系数整体小于0.08,首尔的吸收系数介于0.02~0.06之间。计算得到的黑碳气溶胶柱内质量空间分布结果显示:北京站黑碳气溶胶柱内质量在200~600 kg/grid之间,中国香港站黑碳气溶胶柱内质量在180~650 kg/grid之间,首尔站黑碳气溶胶柱内质量在300 kg/grid以下。结合卡尔曼滤波排放清单与一阶箱模型对黑碳气溶胶柱内质量结果进行间接验证,计算得到的黑碳气溶胶生命周期为1~4 d不等,符合其在大气中的真实状态,说明结果具有一定可靠性。通过对比加入TROPOMI紫外波段卫星观测数据前后对模型进行约束得到的粒径分布及吸收系数结果的差异发现:加入紫外波段观测数据对模拟结果具有一定增强作用。所提方法模拟结果良好,方案具有一定应用潜力。

Fetal Head Compression: Its Possible Role in Neurologic Injury

It is widely assumed that fetal ischemic brain injury during labor derives almost exclusively from severe, systemic hypoxemia with marked neonatal depression and acidemia. Severe asphyxia, however, is one of several causes of perinatal neurological injury and may not be the most common;most neonates diagnosed with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy do not have evidence of severe asphyxia. Sepsis, direct brain trauma, and drug or toxin exposure account for some cases, while mechanical forces of labor and delivery that increase fetal intracranial pressure sufficiently to impair brain perfusion may also contribute. Because of bony compliance and mobile suture lines, the fetal skull changes shape and redistributes cerebrospinal fluid during labor according to constraints imposed by contractions, and bony and soft tissue elements of the birth canal as the head descends. These accommodations, including the increase in intracranial pressure, are adaptive and necessary for efficient descent of the head while safeguarding cerebral blood flow. Autonomic reflexes mediated through central receptors normally provide ample protection of the brain from the considerable pressure exerted on the skull. On occasion, those forces, which are transmitted intracranially, may overcome the various adaptive anatomical, cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurological mechanisms that maintain cerebral perfusion and oxygen availability, resulting in ischemic brain injury. Accepting the notion of a potentially adverse impact of fetal head compression suggests that avoidance of excessive uterine activity and of relentless pushing without steady progress in descent may offer protection for the fetal brain during parturition. Excessive head compression should be considered in the differential diagnosis of ischemic encephalopathy.

Background:Physical activity(PA)is important for cancer *** of remotely delivered interventions are needed to assist in reaching under-served non-metropolitan cancer *** objective of this study was to ascertain whether wearable technology,coupled with health coaching was effective in increasing PA in breast and colorectal cancer survivors living in regional and remote areas in ***:Cancer survivors from 5 states were randomized to intervention and control *** participants were given a Fitbit Charge 2TMand received up to 6 telephone health coaching *** participants received PA print *** assessments at baseline and 12 weeks measured moderate-to-vigorous PA(MVPA),light PA,and sedentary ***:Eighty-seven participants were recruited(age=63±11 years;74(85%)female).There was a significant net improvement in MVPA of 49.8 min/week,favoring the intervention group(95%confidence interval(95%CI):13.6-86.1,p=0.007).There was also a net increase in MVPA bouts of 39.5 min/week(95%CI:11.9-67.1,p=0.005),favoring the intervention *** groups improved light PA and sedentary behavior,but there were no between-group ***:This’s the first study to demonstrate that,when compared to standard practice(i.e.,PA education),a wearable technology intervention coupled with distance-based health coaching,improves MVPA in non-metropolitan cancer *** results display promise for the use of scalable interventions using smart wearable technology in conjunction with phone-based health coaching to foster increased PA in geographically disadvantaged cancer survivors.

Soft In Way Inc. performed the aerodynamic design of a 4 stages high pressure radial blower with vaneless diffusers and deswirlers for DMW Corporation in 2021. The nominal pressure ratio of the machine is near *** a pressure ratio often characterizes what would typically be called a compressor, especially if the compression work is performed in one stage. For the subject machine of the present study, the compression work is split into 4 *** paper describes the design procedure for this blower, initially focusing in depth on the tradeoffs between work split,rotor diameter, and rotor vane back-sweep angle. The paper then presents a further design and optimization work of different variants of diffuser and deswirler based on aerodynamic performance for this 4 stages radial blower. The number of deswirler blades in the return channel was reduced from 19 to 10 in consideration of manufacturing requirements. To minimize losses in performance due to reduced blade number, several candidates of varied geometry shape deswirler blades were obtained from an automatic design and optimization workflow combining with 3D CFD calculation. All candidates of deswirler were implemented to the entire 4 stages radial blower to analyze machine performance by 3D CFD calculation and the best 10-blade deswirler geometry was determined. 3D CFD analysis shows that 10 blades of deswirler is unable to provide the same pressure rise and efficiency as the original design with 19 blades when all other parts of the design, such as rotor and diffuser are maintained the same. To further improve the blower performance, the similar automatic workflow was applied to study vaned diffuser influence to the blower performance based on the new blower configuration. The number and geometry of best diffuser blades was obtained from the automatic workflow and entire blower performance with vaned diffuser was analyzed and validated by 3D CFD calculation. Background:SARS-CoV-2 clinical presentation is associated with the patients’age ***,young indi-viduals present higher proportions of asymptomatic or mild COVID-19 infection,compared to *** on secondary COVID-19 transmission in households,according to the cases’age group,are ***:We performed a follow-up cohort study including all COVID-19 real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)-confirmed cases(adolescent students and school staff)diagnosed in an epidemiological investigation of a large high school *** compared the adolescent and adult groups regarding clinical symptoms,time to negative COVID-19 RT-PCR tests,and infection transmission in ***:The study population included 817 *** confirmed COVID-19 RT-PCR outbreak cases(n=178)were followed(students aged 12-19 years,median age 14 years,n=153,school staffaged 24-67 years,median age 39 years,n=25)and the cases’household close contacts(n=639)were *** adolescents had lower symptomatic infection rates,shorter time to negative COVID-19 RT-PCR tests,and lower transmission rates to household members,compared to the *** general transmission rate among household contacts was 13.5%,(86/639)ranging from 8.6%in asymptomatic students’contacts to 27.3%in symptomatic ***-19 transmission rates were significantly higher in contacts of symptomatic cases compared to asymptomatic cases(odds ratio:2.06,95%CI 1.26-3.4)and higher in adults compared to adolescents(odds ratio:2.69,95%CI 1.43-4.89).Conclusions:Adolescents and adults diagnosed in an outbreak investigation differ as to COVID-19 clinical presen-tation and *** adolescents may show mild or no symptoms,COVID-19 prevention in school settings is *** nonpharmaceutical measures and promoting vaccination programs in eligible staffand students should be considered.

The relationship between electron–phonon(e-ph)interactions and charge-density-wave(CDW)order in the bismuthate family of high-temperature superconductors remains *** address this question using nonperturbative hybrid Monte Carlo calculations for the parent compound BaBiO_(3).Our model includes the Bi 6s and O 2pσorbitals and coupling to the Bi-O bond-stretching branch of optical phonons via modulations of the Bi-O hopping *** simulate three-dimensional clusters of up to 4000 orbitals,with input model parameters taken from ab initio electronic structure calculations and a phonon energyℏΩ0=60 *** results demonstrate that the coupling to the bond-stretching modes is sufficient to reproduce the CDW transition in this system,despite a relatively small dimensionless *** also find that the transition deviates from the weak-coupling Peierls’*** work demonstrates that off-diagonal e-ph interactions in orbital space are vital in establishing the bismuthate phase diagram.
