Background:Musical perception requires a host of *** musicians place greater emphasis on motor coordination,whereas vocal musicians rehearse vocal *** study explored the differential advantages of musical background on binaural integration and interaction in musicians(instrumentalists,vocalists)and compared them with age-matched ***:Eight six participants aged 20e40 y with normal hearing sensitivity were subjected to binaural tests using a standard group comparison research *** participants were segregated into three groups e Group 1 included instrumentalists(n?26,mean age:17.73±2.83 y),while Group 2 and Group 3 consisted of vocalists(n?30,mean age:19.30±2.47 y)and non-musicians(n?30,mean age:18.20±3.02 y)*** binaural processes namely integration(Dichotic syllable test,DST;and virtual acoustic space identification-VASI)and interaction(Interaural difference thresholds for time and level:ITD&ILD),were administered on all the ***:Statistical analyses showed the main effect of *** pair-wise test revealed that the musicians(instrumentalists and vocalists)outperformed(p0.05).Conclusion:Musical background-induced differential advantages can be reasonably noted in the binaural skills of instrumentalists and vocalists(compared to non-musicians).

Stimulated by thermal optimization in magnetic materials process engineering,the present investigation investigates theoretically the entropy generation in mixed convection magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)flow of an electrically-conducting nanofluid from a vertical *** mathematical model includes the effects of viscous dissipation,second order velocity slip and thermal slip,has been *** cylindrical partial differential form of the two-component non-homogenous nanofluid model has been transformed into a system of coupled ordinary differential equations by applying similarity *** effects of governing parameters with no-flux nanoparticle concentration have been examined on important quantities of ***,the dimensionless form of the entropy generation number has also been evaluated using homotopy analysis method(HAM).The present analytical results achieve good correlation with numerical results(shooting method).Entropy is found to be an increasing function of second order velocity slip,magnetic field and curvature *** is elevated with increasing curvature parameter and magnetic parameter whereas it is reduced with mixed convection *** flow is accelerated with curvature parameter but decelerated with magnetic *** transfer rate(Nusselt number)is enhanced with greater mixed convection parameter,curvature parameter and first order velocity slip parameter but reduced with increasing second order velocity slip *** generation is also increased with magnetic parameter,second order slip velocity parameter,curvature parameter,thermophoresis parameter,buoyancy parameter and Reynolds number whereas it is suppressed with first order velocity slip parameter,Brownian motion parameter and thermal slip parameter.

Medicinal plants have played an important role in treating and preventing a variety of diseases throughout the world. Metabolic syndrome had become a global epidemic, defined as a cluster of three of five criteria： insulin resistance and glucose intolerance, abdominal obesity, hypertension, low high-density cholesterol, and hypertriglyeeridemia. The current review fo- cuses on Indian medicinal plant drugs and plants used in the treatment of diabetes and hyperlipidemia. Though there are various approaches to reduce the ill-effects of diabetes and hyperlipidemia and its secondary complications, plant-based drugs are preferred due to lesser side effects and low cost. The current review focuses on twenty-three medicinal plants used in the treatment of Diabe- tes mellitus and nine medicinal plants used in the treatment of hyperlipidemia. The wealth of knowledge on medicinal plants points to a great potential for research and the discovery of new drugs to fight diseases, including diabetes and hyperlipidemia.

Three dimensional(3D)echocardiogram enables cardiologists to visua-lize suspicious cardiac structures in *** recent years,this three-dimensional echocardiogram carries important clinical value in virtual surgical ***,this 3D echocardiogram involves a trade-off difficulty between accu-racy and efficient computation in clinical *** paper presents a novel Flip Directional 3D Volume Reconstruction(FD-3DVR)method for the recon-struction of echocardiogram *** proposed method consists of two main steps:multiplanar volumetric imaging and 3D volume *** the crea-tion of multiplanar volumetric imaging,two-dimensional(2D)image pixels are mapped into voxels of the volumetric *** the obtained slices are discontin-uous,there are some missing voxels in the volume *** restore the structural and textural information of 3D ultrasound volume,the proposed method creates a volume pyramid in parallel with theflip directional texture ***,the nearest neighbors of missing voxels in the multiplanar volumetric imaging are identified by 3D ANN(Approximate Nearest Neighbor)patch matching ***,aflip directional texture pyramid is proposed and aggregated with distance in patch matching tofind out the most similar *** the recon-struction step,structural and textural information obtained from differentflip angle directions can reconstruct 3D volume well with the desired ***-pared with existing 3D reconstruction methods,the proposed Flip Directional 3D Volume Reconstruction(FD-3DVR)method provides superior performance for the mean peak signal-to-noise ratio(40.538 for the proposed method I and 39.626 for the proposed method II).Experimental results performed on the cardi-ac datasets demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method for the reconstruc-tion of echocardiogram images.

The Eastern Himalayas are renowned for their high plant *** understand how this modern botanical richness formed,it is critical to investigate past plant biodiversity preserved as fossils throughout the eastern Himalayan Siwalik succession(middle Miocene-early Pleistocene).Here,we present a summary of plant diversity records that document Neogene floristic and climate *** do this by compiling published records of megafossil plant remains,because these offer better spatial and temporal resolution than do palynological *** of the Siwalik floral assemblages based on the distribution of the nearest living relative taxa suggest that a tropical wet evergreen forest was growing in a warm humid monsoonal climate at the deposition *** qualitative interpretation is also corroborated by published CLAMP(Climate Leaf Analysis Multivariate Program) ***,we also reconstruct the climate by applying a new common proxy WorldClim2 *** allows the detection of subtle climate differences between floral assemblages free of artefacts introduced by using different methodologies and climate *** analysis of the Siwalik floras indicates that there was a gradual change in floral *** lower Siwalik assemblages provide evidence of a predominance of evergreen *** increase in deciduous elements in the floral composition is noticed towards the close of the middle Siwalik and the beginning of the upper Siwalik *** change reflects a climatic difference between Miocene and Plio-Pleistocene *** review helps us to understand under what paleoenvironmental conditions plant diversity occurred and evolved in the eastern Himalayas throughout the Cenozoic.

Spatial variability of soil hydraulic and physical properties in erosive sloping agricultural fields

It is essential to minimize soil quality degradation in sloping agricultural fields through stabilization and improvement of soil hydraulic properties using sustainable soil *** study aimed to analyze the impact of different tillage practices,including conventional tillage(CT),minimum tillage(MT),and zero tillage(ZT),on soil hydraulic conductivity in a sloping agricultural field under maizeewheat *** results showed that the highest runoff volume(257.40 m3),runoff coefficient(42.84%),and soil loss(11.3 t)were observed when the CT treatment was *** contrast,the lowest runoff volume(67.95 m3),runoff coefficient(11.35%),and soil loss(1.05 t)were observed when the ZT treatment was *** soil organic carbon and aggregate mean weight diameter were found to be significantly greater(with mean values of 0.79%and 1.19 mm,respectively)with the ZT treatment than with the CT *** the tilled treatments(CT and MT),substantial changes in the saturated soil hydraulic conductivity(ks),near-saturated soil hydraulic conductivity(k),and water-conducting porosity(ε)were observed between two crop *** three soil parameters were significantly higher in the period after maize harvesting than in the wheat growing *** contrast,no significant difference in these soil parameters was found when the untilled treatment(ZT)was carried *** regard to the slope positions,ks,k,andεshowed different behaviors under different *** toe slope position showed significantly lower ks andεvalues than the summit and middle slope *** the evaluated tillage practices,ZT was found to be the most promising means to improve the soil hydro-physical properties and effectively reduce surface runoff and soil erosion.

Objective:To evaluate therapeutic potential of hydroethanolic extract of Pergularia daemia(***) against anti-tuberculosis drugs(ATDs) induced liver ***:Wistar albino rats were divided into seven groups of six animal in *** ATDs and *** extract(100,200 and 400 mg/kg,p.o.) were conjointly administered for 8 weeks and various biochemical,histoarchitectural,ultrastructural studies were ***:Administration of ATDs significantly increased aspartate aminotransferase,alanine aminotransferase,alkaline phosphatase,triglycerides,cholesterol,bilirubin and decreased glucose and albumin *** lipid peroxidation and reduction in glutathione,superoxide dismutase,catalase,glutathione peroxidase,glutathione reductase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase were found after ATDs *** of *** extract maintained serum biochemical indices as well as antioxidant status similar to control and diminished oxidative stress in dose dependent *** and ultra-structural observations substantiated biochemical ***:*** has therapeutic potential against ATDs induced liver injury and may be of clinical significance after extensive studies.
