Jatropha is a non-edible,important bioenergy plant,which can grow in marginalized *** seeds possess about 36%oil and this would be converted into biodiesel or *** provides an option for sustainable feed and fuel production due to its inherent qualities including hardy nature,drought tolerance and surviving with limited amount of water,tolerance to unfavorable conditions and excessive ***,heterozygosity,low productivity and poor understanding of its genome are the major impediments to elite line ***,classical breeding and advanced technological investments remain limited owing to long juvenile phase and breeding *** technologies that lead to identification of elite genotypes and development of high yielding elite Jatropha lines and effective methods of detoxification of seeds needs immediate *** tissue culture system,doubled haploids(DH)and genomic tools are increasingly made available to improve the seed yield and its oil quantity through the development of geminivirus disease resistant *** application of advanced,sequencing technologies has presented a repertoire of genomic information for this important yet orphan *** the present investigation,we highlight the achievements made in Jatropha towards development of high yielding,virus resistant elite lines and hybrids with yield potential ranging from 3 to 5 tons per hectare in a year,which is a first ever report in the *** also developed potential biotechnological tools such as genetic transformation,genome editing and next generation genomics tools including linkage maps and QTLs for accelerating breeding efforts through marker assisted *** of our concerted and continuous efforts during the past 15 years,we have overcome all the obstacles and developed high yielding,disease resistant hybrids/lines,advanced cultivation technologies with thorough knowledge on Agronomy of the Jatropha *** Jatropha cultivat

Transmission congestion management considering multiple and optimal capacity DGs

Transmission congestion management became a grievous issue with the increase of competitiveness in the power systems. Competitiveness arises due to restructuring of the utilities along with the penetration of auxiliary services. The present study depicts a multi objective technique for achieving the optimal capacities of distributed generators(DG) such as solar, wind and biomass in order to relieve congestion in the transmission lines. Objectives like transmission congestion, real power loss, voltages and investment costs are considered to improve the technical and economical performances of the network. Multi objective particle swarm optimization algorithm is utilized to achieve the optimal sizes of unity power factor DG *** insisted methodology is practiced on IEEE-30 and IEEE-118 bus systems to check the practical *** results of the proposed approach are compared with the genetic algorithm for both single and multi-objective cases. Results revealed that the intimated method can aid independent system operator to remove the burden from lines in the contingency conditions in an optimal manner along with the improvement in voltages and a reduction in real power losses of the network.

surface radioactive survey has been carried with portable gamma ray spectrometer(PGRs) about the 45 km2 around the srisailam sub basin,the surface radioactive anomalies were found at Chennakesavula gutta in the srisailam sub basin of Cuddapah basin in the age of meso-neo proterozoic,*** integrated geochemical and radiometric surveys were conducted as part of research work in the srisailam basin,it has resulted the locating of surface radioactive anomalies near the Chennakesavula *** uranium minerals are observed along with the fracture planes in the Archean basement granite in the proximity of unconformity contact of srisailam *** granite underlies the srisailam formation and forms the source for possible unconformity related uranium mineralisation in the srisailam sub-basin evidence by the significant radioactive *** radioactivity recorded by PGRs reflected uraniferous nature of the radioactivity(Average total counts =195 ppm;U = 202 ppm;Th =22ppm;%K = 4.1,n = 15).

Relay coordination is crucial in electrical power systems to protect against malfunctions and damage caused by unexpected events like short *** address the challenge associated with the reverse direction of fault current,dual-setting(Ds)directional over-current relays have evolved but failed to provide proper coordination during changes of load,generation,and *** the meantime,with the increasing number of Ds relays,the total relay operating time tends to ***,this paper proposes a protection scheme based on the optimal deployment of conventional and dual-setting rate of change of voltage(Ds-ROCOV)relays in distribution *** holds true for varying network topologies and is unaffected by variations in load and *** objective of the proposed scheme is to ensure reliable and efficient protection against faults in distribution systems by minimizing the overall operating time with the optimal number of Ds-ROCOV *** proposed protection scheme’s performance is evaluated for different coordination time interval values as well as in different microgrid *** paper outlines the design and implementation of the proposed protection scheme which is validated on the modified IEEE 14-bus system using simulations in Matlab/simulink.

Use of a Bioaugmented Organic soil Amendment in Combination with Gypsum for Withania somnifera Growth on sodic soil

Limited availability of organic matter is a problem to sustain crop growth on sodic soil. Organic soil amendments are a costeffective source of nutrients to enhance crop growth. A field study was conducted to evaluate the effect of an organic soil amendment bioaugmented with plant growth-promoting fungi(sF_(OA) ) in combination with gypsum on soil properties and growth and yield attributes of Withania somnifera, one of the most valuable crops of the traditional medicinal system in the world, on a sodic soil at the Aurawan Research Farm of CsIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow, India. The sF_(OA) used was prepared by pre-enriching farm waste vermicompost with plant growth-promoting fungi before mixing with pressmud and Azadirachta indica seed cake. The application of sF_(OA) at 10 Mg ha^(-1)after gypsum(25.0 Mg ha^(-1)) treatment significantly(P sed root length(by 96%) and biomass(by 125%) of Withania plants compared to the control without sF_(OA) and gypsum. similarly, the highest withanolide contents were observed in leaves and roots of Withania plants under 10 Mg ha^(-1)sF_(OA) and gypsum. Combined application of sF_(OA) and gypsum also improved physical, chemical and enzymatic properties of the soil, with the soil bulk density decreasing by 25%, water-holding capacity increasing by 121%, total organic C increasing by 90%, p H decreasing by 17% and alkaline phosphatase, β-glucosidase, dehydrogenase and cellulase activities increasing by 54%, 128%, 81% and 96%, respectively, compared to those of the control. These showed that application of the sF_(OA) tested in this study might reclaim sodic soil and further support Withania cultivation and results were better when the sF_(OA) was applied after gypsum treatment.

The tension cracks and joints in rock or soil slopes affect their failure *** of rock or soil slope failure is one of the most challenging tasks in the earth *** actual slopes consist of inhomogeneous materials,complex morphology,and erratic *** studies concerning the failure of rock slopes primarily focused on determining Factor of safety(Fos)and Critical slip surface(Css).In this article,the effect of inclined tension crack on a rock slope failure is studied numerically with shear strength Reduction Factor(sRF)*** inclined Tension Crack(TC)inﬂuences the magnitude and location of the rock slope’s Critical shear strength Reduction Factor(CsRF).Certainly,inclined cracks are more prone to cause the failure of the slope than the vertical ***,all tension cracks do not lead to failure of the slope *** effect of the crest distance of the tension crack is also *** numerical results do not show any signiﬁcant change in the magnitude of CsRF unless the tip of the TC is very near to the crest of the *** is also replaced with a joint,and the results differ from the corresponding *** results are discussed regarding shear stress and Critical slip surface(Css).

Effect of process parameters on depth of penetration and topography of AZ91 magnesium alloy in abrasive water jet cutting

In the present study,the influence of dynamic process parameters such as water pressure,traverse speed and abrasive mass flow rate on depth of penetration and surface topography in high strength AZ91 magnesium alloy were investigated using Abrasive Water Jet(AWJ)cutting *** parameters were varied at 3 levels and influences of each parameter on penetration ability were identified using analysis of variance(ANOVA).Contribution of water pressure and traverse speed on jet penetration found higher compared to abrasive mass flow *** projector was used to measure depth of *** features and topography of cut surfaces were examined using scanning Electron Microscopy(sEM).Micro cutting and ploughing were observed on the top and bottom portion of the cut which were similar to that of modes of deformation in other ductile materials like aluminium and *** roughness of cut surfaces was measured using Taylor Hobson surface roughness *** roughness found higher at higher traverse speeds and lower at lower traverse *** study also highlights the suitability of AWJ cutting technology for cutting magnesium and its alloys.

Acute onset clozapine-induced hyperglycaemia: A case report

Clozapine is an atypical antipsychotic which is described to have higher efficacy among all available antipsychotic medications. Clozapine is reserved especially for resistant schizophrenia due to its side effects. Clozapine-induced metabolic syndrome and hyperglycaemia are common longterm side effects and are responsible for increased mortality in patients with schizophrenia. In this case, a patient with resistant schizophrenia was presented with acute-onset hyperglycaemia and delirium with the use of clozapine within a week. Withdrawal of clozapine in the patient led to the improvement in delirium and hyperglycaemia without the use of any hypoglycaemic agent. This case s叩ports the notion that in certain cases clozapine can induce hyperglycemia through possible direct pathophysiological mechanisms within a shorter time frame.

Computational Identification of sweet Wormwood (Artemisia annua) microRNA and Their mRNA Targets

Despite its efficacy against malaria, the relatively low yield （0.01%-0.8%） of artemisinin in Artemisia annua is a serious limitation to the commercialization of the drug. A better understanding of the biosynthetic pathway of artemisinin and its regulation by both exogenous and endogenous factors is essential to improve artemisinin yield. Increasing evidence has shown that microRNAs （miRNAs） play multiple roles in various biological processes. In this study, we used previously known miRNAs from Arabidopsis and rice against expressed sequence tag （EsT） database of A. annua to search for potential miRNAs and their targets in A. annua. A total of six potential rniRNAs were predicted, which belong to the miR414 and miR1310 families. Furthermore, eight potential target genes were identified in this species. Among them, seven genes encode proteins that play important roles in artemisinin biosynthesis, including HMG-CoA reductase （HMGR）, amorpha-4,11-diene synthase （ADs）, farnesyl pyrophosphate synthase （FPs） and cytochrome P450. In addition, a gene coding for putative AINTEGUMENTA, which is involved in signal transduction and development, was also predicted as one of the targets. This is the first in silico study to indicate that miRNAs target genes encoding enzymes involved in artemisinin biosynthesis, which may help to understand the miRNA-mediated regulation of artemisinin biosynthesis in A. annua.
