Relationship between longitudinal changes in lipid composition and ischemic stroke among hypertensive patients

Thermally triggered topological polymerization in diacetylene-functionalized covalent organic framework toward enhanced memristive properties

The development of stimuli-responsive switching memory devices and the elucidation of their switching mechanisms in specific environments are crucial for advancing the field of molecular electronics. Herein, we propose two distinct two-dimensional covalent organic frameworks (COFs), namely Py-EDA and Py-BDA, incorporating acetylene (-C≡C-) or diacetylene(-C≡C-C≡C-) moieties, respectively, targeting fabricate memory devices exhibiting stimuli-responsive switching *** findings demonstrate that the incorporation of acetylene units effectively modulates the electronic band structure and enhances the degree ofπ-conjugation, resulting in devices that exhibit typical bipolar nonvolatile memory performance. Notably,upon thermal treatment, the memory behavior of the ITO/Py-BDA/Ag device transitions to a write-once-read-many-times(WORM) mode, displaying decreased SET voltage, increased ON/OFF current ratio, and remarkable retention reliability and cycle stability. This switching behavior is attributed to the occurrence of interlayer solid-state topological polymerization at 350℃, leading to the transformation of diacetylene columnar arrays into enyne chains within Py-BDA, thereby further promoting interlayer charge transfer and separation.

The formation of C–C bonds is a crucial aspect of organic synthesis. Synthesists' long-term objective is to identify novel catalysts to optimize reaction systems based on traditional transition metal catalysis. This study explores the synthesis and catalytic potential of palladium-installed covalent metal-organic frameworks(CMOFs) based on copper cyclic trinuclear units(Cu-CTUs). By incorporating palladium ions into the imine-based framework JNM-7 through a straightforward immersion method, we achieved a notable enhancement in catalytic activity for critical C–C coupling reactions, including C–H arylation and Sonogashira cross-coupling. The resulting JNM-7-Pd demonstrated remarkable stability and recyclability, maintaining its efficiency over at least three cycles without any decline in efficiency.

Dietary carbohydrate intake and risk of type 2 diabetes:a 16-year prospective cohort study

Despite considerable research underscoring the importance of carbohydrate intake in relation to the risk of type 2 diabetes(T2D), a comprehensive assessment of this relationship is currently lacking. We aimed to examine the associations of various types and food sources of dietary carbohydrate intake with the risk of T2D, to evaluate potential effect modification by other factors, including genetic susceptibility,and to explore the potential mediators for such associations. The present study included 161,872 participants of the UK Biobank who were free of prevalent cancer, cardiovascular disease, or diabetes, and had at least one validated 24-h dietary recall assessment. Multivariableadjusted age-stratified Cox proportional hazard regression models were applied to estimate hazard ratios(HRs) and 95% confidence intervals(CI) for the associations of various types and food sources of dietary carbohydrate intake with risk of T2D. During a median follow-up of13.6 years, 4,176 incident cases of T2D were identified. In the multivariable-adjusted models, a greater intake of fiber, carbohydrates from whole grains, and carbohydrates from non-starchy vegetables was significantly associated with a lower risk of T2D(highest vs. lowest quantile, HR [95% CI]=0.70 [0.62–0.79], 0.74 [0.67–0.82], and 0.83 [0.75–0.92], respectively, all P for trend <0.005). In contrast, a higher intake of starch and carbohydrate from starchy vegetables was associated with an increased risk of T2D(highest vs. lowest quantile, HR [95%CI]=1.31 [1.16–1.48] and 1.19 [1.09–1.31], respectively, both P for trend <0.005). Replacing one serving of refined grains or starchy vegetables with an equal amount of whole grains or non-starchy vegetables was associated with 4% to 10% lower risk of T2D(all P values <0.001).The observed associations were generally similar across population subgroups, including individuals with different genetic susceptibility to T2D. Insight into the growth behavior and electronic regulation of platinum （Pt） on various transition metal supports is paramount in developing high-performing electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reactions （HER）.Herein,we studied the influence of molybdenum-based supports （MoX,X=C,N,P,and S） on the growth behavior and electronic regulation of *** found that the formation energy variations between Pt single atom and clusters on MoX supports play a pivotal role in the growth behavior of ***,the electronic regulation of Pt induced by metal-support interaction may reflect the valence changes of Pt in Pt-MoX/*** Pt-MoC/C catalyst with a moderate valence state of Pt exhibits the best HER activity with an overpotential of 12.0 mV at 10 mA cm-2and a mass activity of 27.1 A mgPt-1,12.3 times as high as that of commercial 20 wt% Pt/*** work provides constructive guidance for the design of high-performance HER catalysts.

Optical neural networks (ONNs) offer a promising solution for high-performance, energy-efficient artificial intelligence hardware by leveraging the parallelism and speed of light. However, the large-scale implementation of ONNs remains challenging due to the bulky footprint and complex control of optical synapses. In this work, we propose and simulate a plasmonic polarized synaptic architecture that overcomes the diffraction limit and enables ultra-compact ONNs. By tuning the polarization state of incident light, the optical transmittance through each plasmonic unit can be dynamically adjusted to represent a synaptic weight. Our plasmonic structures, with features as small as 40 nm, operate well below this limit in the visible spectrum (400–750 nm). Compared with diffraction and interference-based circuit designs, our proposed method achieves a substantial reduction in synaptic density by factors of 150000-fold and 1500-fold, respectively. Furthermore, we successfully demonstrate a proof-of-concept plasmonic ONN applied to the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research—10classes (CIFAR-10) dataset using a Visual Geometry Group network with 16 layers (VGG16) model. After training for 80epochs, the network achieves an accuracy of 93%. The polarization-tunable plasmonics paves the way towards scalable ONNs for next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) accelerators and smart sensors.
