Association between intestinal microbiota and inflammatory bowel disease

Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD),which includes Crohn’s disease(CD)and ulcerative colitis(UC),has emerged as a global disease with high incidence,long duration,devastating clinical symptoms,and low curability(relapsing immune response and barrier function defects).Mounting studies have been performed to investigate its pathogenesis to provide an ever-expanding arsenal of therapeutic options,while the precise etiology of IBD is not completely understood yet.Recent advances in highthroughput sequencing methods and animal models have provided new insights into the association between intestinal microbiota and IBD.In general,dysbiosis characterized by an imbalanced microbiota has been widely recognized as a pathology of IBD.However,intestinal microbiota alterations represent the cause or result of IBD process remains unclear.Therefore,more evidences are needed to identify the precise role of intestinal microbiota in the pathogenesis of IBD.Herein,this review aims to outline the current knowledge of commonly used,chemically induced,and infectious mouse models,gut microbiota alteration and how it contributes to IBD,and dysregulated metabolite production links to IBD pathogenesis.

Graphene-like two-dimensional nanosheets-based anticorrosive coatings: A review

In recent years, graphene has been widely employed in the field of metal corrosion protection owing to its outstanding impermeability and chemical stability, with examples of such metal protection including pure graphene coatings and graphene-based composite coatings. But the conductive graphene could promote the electrochemical reaction at the interface and accelerate the corrosion of metal substrates. More emerging graphene-like 2D nanosheets are attracting research attention for the application of metal anticorrosion, because of their barrier properties and poor conductivity, mainly including boron nitride(BN),molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2)), zirconium phosphate(ZrP), and titanium carbide(MXene). In this review,the application of these graphene-like 2D nanosheets to metal protection is comprehensively reviewed.First, the general preparation methods of 2D nanosheets are briefly introduced. Second, surface functionalization of 2D nanosheets, including covalent and non-covalent modification, is described in detail.Third, the anticorrosion performance and optimization measures of pure 2D nanosheets coatings are summarized. Next, the protection performance, anticorrosive mechanism, and optimizations of 2D nanosheets composite coatings are presented. Finally, the future development of 2D nanosheets-based anticorrosive coatings has been prospected, and the challenges in the industrial application are discussed.

PIM-Align: A Processing-in-Memory Architecture for FM-IndexSearch Algorithm

Genomic sequence alignment is the most critical and time-consuming step in genomic analysis.Alignment algorithms generally follow a seed-and-extend model.Acceleration of the extension phase for sequence alignment has been well explored in computing-centric architectures on field-programmable gate array(FPGA),application-specific integrated circuit(ASIC),and graphics processing unit(GPU)(e.g.,the Smith-Waterman algorithm).Compared with the extension phase,the seeding phase is more critical and essential.However,the seeding phase is bounded by memory,i.e.,fine-grained random memory access and limited parallelism on conventional system.In this paper,we argue that the processing-in-memory(PIM)concept could be a viable solution to address these problems.This paper describes\PIM-Align"|an application-driven near-data processing architecture for sequence alignment.In order to achieve memory-capacity proportional performance by taking advantage of 3D-stacked dynamic random access memory(DRAM)technology,we propose a lightweight message mechanism between different memory partitions,and a specialized hardware prefetcher for memory access patterns of sequence alignment.Our evaluation shows that the proposed architecture can achieve 20x and 1820x speedup when compared with the best available ASIC implementation and the software running on 32-thread CPU,respectively.

本文主要考察皮尔士的知觉理论,并尝试解决皮尔士思想内部的解读疑难(推论主义与直接实在论的冲突),同时涉及当代英美哲学论域中的核心问题,即如何整合因果进程和认知进程。本文试图阐明,我们在讨论皮尔士的知觉理论时应该将视角从显象学(phaneronology)推进到他的广义符号学(semiotics)。这个推进步骤将帮助我们得到如下结论:刺激和推论的结合只有在经过符号学对显象学的转译和更新之后才是可能的,探讨知觉的基本论域必须从狭义的认识论转向广义的符号学。

Multivariate stationary non-Gaussian process simulation for wind pressure fields

Stochastic simulation is an important means of acquiring fluctuating wind pressures for wind induced response analyses in structural engineering. The wind pressure acting on a large-span space structure can be characterized as a stationary non-Gaussian field. This paper reviews several simulation algorithms related to the Spectral Representation Method （SRM） and the Static Transformation Method （STM）. Polynomial and Exponential transformation functions （PSTM and ESTM） are discussed. Deficiencies in current algorithms, with respect to accuracy, stability and efficiency, are analyzed, and the algorithms are improved for better practical application. In order to verify the improved algorithm, wind pressure fields on a large-span roof are simulated and compared with wind tunnel data. The simulation results fit well with the wind tunnel data, and the algorithm accuracy, stability and efficiency are shown to be better than those of current algorithms.

Detecting While Accessing:A Semi-Supervised Learning-Based Approach for Malicious Traffic Detection in Internet of Things

In the upcoming large-scale Internet of Things(Io T),it is increasingly challenging to defend against malicious traffic,due to the heterogeneity of Io T devices and the diversity of Io T communication protocols.In this paper,we propose a semi-supervised learning-based approach to detect malicious traffic at the access side.It overcomes the resource-bottleneck problem of traditional malicious traffic defenders which are deployed at the victim side,and also is free of labeled traffic data in model training.Specifically,we design a coarse-grained behavior model of Io T devices by self-supervised learning with unlabeled traffic data.Then,we fine-tune this model to improve its accuracy in malicious traffic detection by adopting a transfer learning method using a small amount of labeled data.Experimental results show that our method can achieve the accuracy of 99.52%and the F1-score of 99.52%with only 1%of the labeled training data based on the CICDDoS2019 dataset.Moreover,our method outperforms the stateof-the-art supervised learning-based methods in terms of accuracy,precision,recall and F1-score with 1%of the training data.

Digital Twin-Assisted Knowledge Distillation Framework for Heterogeneous Federated Learning

In this paper,to deal with the heterogeneity in federated learning(FL)systems,a knowledge distillation(KD)driven training framework for FL is proposed,where each user can select its neural network model on demand and distill knowledge from a big teacher model using its own private dataset.To overcome the challenge of train the big teacher model in resource limited user devices,the digital twin(DT)is exploit in the way that the teacher model can be trained at DT located in the server with enough computing resources.Then,during model distillation,each user can update the parameters of its model at either the physical entity or the digital agent.The joint problem of model selection and training offloading and resource allocation for users is formulated as a mixed integer programming(MIP)problem.To solve the problem,Q-learning and optimization are jointly used,where Q-learning selects models for users and determines whether to train locally or on the server,and optimization is used to allocate resources for users based on the output of Q-learning.Simulation results show the proposed DT-assisted KD framework and joint optimization method can significantly improve the average accuracy of users while reducing the total delay.

There are seemingly controversial arguments in Marx＇s works on morality.For one thing, we can exphcidy find his rejection of morality, and contemporary westernscholars, especially Anglo - American scholars who have devoted in Marxist moral theory holdthat Marx is an amoralist, even anti -moralist. For another, we can also discover his moral cri-tiques on capitalism. For this reason,it has great practical significance to clarify the relationshipbetween Marmsm and morality. This topic will be elucidated under the background of histori-cal materialism and clarified from two aspects in this essay：to make sure why Marx＇s critiqueof capitalism does not base on moral principle and point out diametrically theoretical founda-tion between historical materialism and traditional morality;to clarify in what sense Marx is anamoralist, and emphasize it is in his rejection of abstract morality as guiding principle of critici-zing capitalism that he is an amoralist.
