Cryptosporidium spp.,Giardia duodenalis,Cyclospora cayetanensis,and Enterocytozoonbieneusi are known etiologicalagents of self-limiting diarrhea,chronic disorders,and severe debilitating illnesses in humans,particularly children and patients with immunodeficiency diseases To assess the pathogen carriage status of raw vegetables and fruits and the potential transmission routes of the aforementioned parasites in Henan province,China,a total of 1099 vegetables and fruits samples(21 items) were purchased and collected from agricultural farms or open *** was identified by PCR amplification of the internaltranscribed spacer(ITS) gene,*** by PCR amplification of the small subunit ribosomal RNA(SSU rRNA) gene,as was as the Cryptosporidium spp.,and glycoprotein 60(gp60) gene subtyping also *** was identified by PCR amplification of the triosephosphate isomerase *** kinds of human pathogenic agent(***,*** and ***) were identified on the surfaces of the vegetables and fruits(3.7%,41/1099).*** was found in3.5%(38/1099) of the samples,and the highest contamination was found in potatoes(1/3,33.3%),beans(4/28,14.3%) and water spinach(3/288,10.7%).*** not detected on Chinese cabbage,crown daisy,spinach,schizonepeta,cabbage,leaf mustard or green *** *** and *** were only identified in two(0.2%) samples of lettuce and leaf lettuce,and one(0.1%) sample of Chinese chive,*** *** contamination was detected in the present *** total,12 different *** ITS genotypes(eight known and four novel) were detected,of which the ten(EbpA,CM8,CHG19,EbpC,CTS3,Henan-IV,and CHV1 to CHV4) that occurred in 20 samples(20/38,52.6%) clustered into the previously described high potential zoonotic group 1 in the phylogenetic *** remaining two known genotypes(BEB8 and CD6) detected in 18 samples(18/38,47.4%) belonged to group *** ***

Although initially described as Cryptosporidium parvum,the Cryptosporidium in the small intestine of mice(Mus musculus)differs genetically from what is now known as *** in humans and *** this study,the morphological,biological,and genetic characteristics of the murine parasite are described,and the parasite is renamed as Cryptosporidium *** of the new species(4.64±0.05×4.19±0.06μm,with a mean shape index of 1.11±0.02;n=69)are slightly smaller than those of Cryptosporidium *** prepatent period was six and seven days,and the patent period was 24-28 and 28-29 days in neonatal and adult mice,*** are not infectious to lambs and ***,transmission electron and scanning electron microscopy studies of the new species showed the presence of developmental stages in the microvillar brush border of the jejunum and ileum of experimentally infected mice,with the infection most intensive in the *** the parasite was probably initially described as ***,it had nucleotide sequences significantly different from what is now known as *** at the small subunit r RNA,70 k Da heat shock protein,oocyst wall protein,actin,and the 60 k Da glycoprotein genes,and was widely known as the Cryptosporidium mouse genotype or mouse genotype *** on the morphological,genetic and biological data and in compliance of established Cryptosporidium species naming criteria,this geographically widespread parasite is named as a new species in honor of Ernest Edward Tyzzer,who pioneered Cryptosporidium research and probably first detected the parasite near 100 years ago.

Background:Anaplasma capra is an emerging zoonotic tick-borne pathogen with a broad host range,including many *** have close physical interactions with humans and regular contact with the external ***,they have been previously reported to be hosts of Anaplasma phagocytophilum,***,A,ovis,and ***:To confirm whether dogs are also hosts of ***,pathogen DNA was extracted from blood samples of 521 dogs,followed by PCR amplification of the citrate synthase(gltA) gene,heat shock protein(groEL) gene,and major surface protein 4(msp4) gene of the ***:A total of 12.1%(63/521) of blood samples were shown to be ***-positive by PCR *** significant differences were observed between genders(P=0.578) or types(P=0.154) of dogs with *** ***,significantly higher *** infections occurred in dogs with regular contact with vegetation(P=0.002),those aged over 10 years(P=0.040),and during the summer season(P=0.006).Phylogenetic analysis based on gltA,groEL,and msp4 sequences demonstrated that the isolates obtained in this study were clustered within the *** clade,and were distinct from other Anaplasma ***:In conclusion,dogs were shown to be a host of the human pathogenic *** the affinity between dogs and humans and the zoonotic tick-borne nature of ***,dogs should be carefully monitored for the presence of ***.

Backgroud:Micro(mi)RNAs are small noncoding RNA molecules that function in RNA silencing and post-transcriptional regulation of gene *** study investigated host miRNA activity in the innate immune response to Cryptosporidium parvum ***:In vitro infection model adopts HCT-8 human ileocecal adenocarcinoma cells infected with *** expression of miR-942-5 p was estimated using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qPCR).The TLRs-NF-κB signaling was confirmed by qPCR,western blotting,TLR4-and TLR2-specific short-interfering(si)RNA,and NF-κB ***:HCT-8 cells express all known toll-like receptors(TLRs).Cryptosporidium parvum infection of cultured HCT-8 cells upregulated TLR2 and TLR4,and downstream TLR effectors,including NF-κB and suppressed IκBα(nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B cells inhibitor,alpha).The expression of miR-942-5 p was significantly upregulated at 4,8,12 and 24 h post-infection,and especially at 8 *** results of TLR4-and TLR2-specific siRNA and NF-κB inhibition showed that upregulation of miR-942-5 p was promoted by p65 subunitdependent TLR2/TLR4-NF-κB pathway ***:miR-942-5 p of HCT-8 cells was significantly upregulated after *** infection,especially at 8 hpi,in response to a p65-dependent TLR2/TLR4-NF-κB ***4 appeared to play a dominant role.

In present study,fecal samples from a total of 620 Tibetan sheep and 260 Tibetan goats from six counties in Tibet were examined by nested *** results showed that the overall infection rates of *** and *** were 0.8%(5/620) and 15%(93/620),respectively,in Tibetan sheep,and 0%(0/260) and 9.6%(25/260),respectively,in Tibetan *** on sequence analysis of the SSU rRNA,tpi,bg,and gdh genes of ***,only assemblage E was *** on sequence analysis of the ribosomal internal transcriptional spacer(ITS)region of ***,a total of 12 genotypes(three novel and nine known) were detected,and these clustered into two separate phylogenetic *** CHG19,EbpA,EbpC,H,PigEBITS5,and CTS3 clustered into Group 1 with high zoonotic potential,while genotypes BEB6,CHC8,CHG1,I,CTS1,and CTS2 fell within the host-specific Group *** genotypes were detected in Tibetan sheep,and two genotypes were found in Tibetan *** current study indicated that *** infections are widespread among these livestock,and Tibetan goats may play an important role as a reservoir of zoonotic *** genotypes.
