Antibiotics in poultry feed to boost growth performance are becoming increasingly contentious due to concerns over antimicrobial resistance *** oils(EOs),as natural,plant-derived compounds,have demonstrated antimicrobial and antioxidant *** may potentially improve poultry health and growth performance when included in poultry ***,the incorporation of EOs as nutritional additives is hindered by their high volatility,low water solubility,poor intestinal absorption,and sensitivity to environmental ***,nanoencapsulation strategies using nanoformulations have emerged as a potential solution to these challenges,improving the stability and bioavailability of EOs,and enabling targeted delivery in poultry *** review provides an overview of the antioxidant and antibacterial properties of EOs,the current limitations of their applications in poultry feed,and the recent advancements in nano-engineering to overcome these ***,we outline the potential future research direction on EO nanoformulations,emphasizing their promising role in advancing sustainable poultry nutrition.

Right Radical Nephrectomy with Type-IV IVC Tumor Thrombectomy Using Venovenous Bypass Instead of Cardiopulmonary Bypass—A Case Report

A renal mass with level Level IV IVC thrombus is usually managed with radical nephrectomy and IVC thrombectomy. This procedure requires the assistance of a cardiac surgeon and is usually done under complete cardiopulmonary bypass. However, the use of cardiopulmonary bypass is associated with reduced cardiac venous return and can consequently decrease cardiac output, adversely affecting haemo-dynamic stability and systemic arterial perfusion. This can lead to relative ischemia of the abdominal viscera, lower limbs and kidneys. We report a case where radical nephrectomy with IVC thrombectomy was done under venovenous bypass, thus avoiding the complications associated with the cardiopulmonary bypass.

Caesalpinia sappan L.(CS) is a plant of Leguminosae family,commonly known as Brazil or Sappan *** is distributed in Southeast Asia and its dried heartwood has been used as traditional ingredient of food or beverages and has a wide variety of medicinal *** extraction yield of CS wood was achieved with 95% ethanol for 2 *** constituent's investigation of sappan wood resulled in the isolation of various structural types of phenolic components including one xanihone,one coumarin,three chalcones,two flavones three homoisoflavonoids and ***[(6a S-cis)-7,11b-dihydrobcnz[b]indeno[1.2-d]pyran-3.6a.9.10(6H)- tetroll.a major and active compound found in CS *** of the folkloric uses of brazilin were validated by the scientific studies such as antioxidant,antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,***,vasorelaxant,hepatoproteetive and anti-acne *** heartwood extract is safe and did not produce any acute or subacute toxicity in both male and female *** is the safe natural compound having potential to develop as a medicinal compound with application in food,beverage,cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries to screen its clinical use in modern *** information gained could provide the important and potential approach for pharmaceutical researcher to implicate the knowledge of brazilin in the formulation of new drug and to reveal therapeutic and gaps requiring future research *** studies are needed to evaluate the potential application of brazilin as preservative and coloring agent in food processing industries.

Early Results of Mitral Valve Replacement in Severe Pulmonary Artery Hypertension—An Institutional Prospective Study

Introduction: In patients undergoing surgery for mitral valve replacement (MVR) for valvular heart disease, pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH) has been considered a major risk factor. In this prospective study, we have studied the early hemodynamic changes and post-operative outcomes of MVR among patients with severe PAH. Methods: 68 consecutive patients who underwent mitral valve replacement for severe rheumatic mitral valve disease with severe PAH (pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) > 50 mmHg) were studied prospectively for immediate postoperative hemodynamics and outcomes. The mean age of the patients was 32.1 years. 32 (47.05%) patients had mitral stenosis, 13 (19.11%) had mitral regurgitation and 23 (33.82%) had mixed lesions. Patients were divided into two groups based on preoperative pulmonary artery pressures. In 56 patients (82.35%, group I) PAP was sub-systemic or systemic, with a mean of 58.4 mmHg. Twelve patients (17.65%, group II) had supra-systemic PAP with a mean of 82.4 mmHg. Results: After mitral valve replacement, the PAP and pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) decreased significantly in group I to near normal levels. In group II also the PAP and PVR decreased significantly but significant residual PAH remained. Operative mortality was 3.5% in group I and 16.6% in group II. Conclusions: MVR is safe and effective at the presence of severe PAH as long as the PAP is below or equal to systemic pressures. With suprasystemic PAP, MVR carries a high risk of mortality and the patient continues to have severe PAH in the postoperative period.
