Virtual Machines are the core of cloud computing and are utilized toget the benefits of cloud computing. Other essential features include portability,recovery after failure, and, most importantly, creating the core mechanismfor load balancing. Several study results have been reported in enhancing loadbalancingsystems employing stochastic or biogenetic optimization methods.It examines the underlying issues with load balancing and the limitationsof present load balance genetic optimization approaches. They are criticizedfor using higher-order probability distributions, more complicated solutionsearch spaces, and adding factors to improve decision-making skills. Thus, thispaper explores the possibility of summarizing load characteristics. Second,this study offers an improved prediction technique for pheromone level predictionover other typical genetic optimization methods during load balancing.It also uses web-based third-party cloud service providers to test and validatethe principles provided in this study. It also reduces VM migrations, timecomplexity, and service level agreements compared to other parallel standardapproaches.

The reactive power dispatch （RPD） problem is a very critical optimization problem of power system which minimizes the real power loss of the transmission system. While solving the said problem, generator bus voltages and transformer tap settings are kept within a stable operating limit. In connection with the RPD problem, solving reactive power is compensated by incorporating shunt capacitors. The particle swarm optimization （PSO） technique is a swarm intelligence based fast working optimization method which is chosen in this paper as an optimization tool. Additionally, the constriction factor is included with the conventional PSO technique to accelerate the convergence property of the applied optimization tool. In this paper, the RPD problem is solved in the case of the two higher bus systems, i.e., the IEEE 57-bus system and the IEEE ll8-bus system. Furthermore, the result of the present paper is compared with a few optimization technique based results to substantiate the effectiveness of the proposed study.

This paper proposes a discrete-time robust control technique for an uncertain nonlinear system. The uncertainty mainly affects the system dynamics due to mismatched parameter variation which is bounded by a predefined known function. In order to compensate the effect of uncertainty, a robust control input is derived by formulating an equivalent optimal control problem for a virtual nominal system with a modified costfunctional. To derive the stabilizing control law for a mismatched system, this paper introduces another control input named as virtual input. This virtual input is not applied directly to stabilize the uncertain system, rather it is used to define a sufficient condition. To solve the nonlinear optimal control problem, a discretetime general Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman(DT-GHJB) equation is considered and it is approximated numerically through a neural network(NN) implementation. The approximated solution of DTGHJB is used to compute the suboptimal control input for the virtual system. The suboptimal inputs for the virtual system ensure the asymptotic stability of the closed-loop uncertain system. A numerical example is illustrated with simulation results to prove the efficacy of the proposed control algorithm.

Economic analysis of a hybrid solar-fuel cell power delivery system using tuned genetic algorithm

An economic evaluation of a network of distributed energy resources （DERs） comprising a microgrid structure of power delivery system in an Indian scenario has been made. The mathematical analysis is based on the application of tuned genetic algorithm （TGA）. The analyses for optimal power operation pertaining to minimum cost have been made for two cases in Indian power delivery system. The first case deals with the consumers＇ individual optimal operation of DERs, while in the second one, consumers altogether form a microgrid with the optimal supply of power from DERs. The total annual costs for these two cases are found to be economically competitive and encouraging. A reduction of approximately 5.7% in the annual cost has been obtained in the case of microgid system than that in the separately operating consumers＇ system for a small locality of India. It is observed that the application of TGA results in a reduction of the minimum cost depicting an improved outcome in terms of energy economy.

In the present era of Big Data the demand for developing efficient information processing techniques for different applications is expanding steadily.One such possible application is automatic creation of ontology.Such an ontology is often found to be helpful for answering queries for the underlying domain.The present work proposes a scheme for designing an ontology for agriculture domain.The proposed scheme works in two steps.In the first step it uses domain-dependent regular expressions and natural language processing techniques for automatic extraction of vocabulary pertaining to agriculture domain.In the second step semantic relationships between the extracted terms and phrases are identified.A rulebased reasoning algorithm RelExOnt has been proposed for the said task.Human evaluation of the term extraction output yields precision and recall of 75.7%and 60%,respectively.The relation extraction algorithm,RelExOnt performs well with an average precision of 86.89%.

Present work evaluated the possible impact of choline on metabolic enzymes of cultured fish species into a semi-intensive pond culture system,reared with Catla catla(catla),Labeo rohita(rahu),Clarias batracus(magur)and Anabas testudineus(climbing perch)for 90 days in two seasons.Choline was added directly into the pond water periodically throughout the experimental tenure.The water quality parameters of each experimental pond were monitored and were analyzed in 15 days interval throughout the experimental tenure in both the seasons.Results were compared with treatment as choline-fed and control as non-choline-fed conditions during breeding(June-Aug.)and dry(Nov.-Jan.)seasons.The metabolic enzymes,viz.,LDH(Lactate dehydrogenase),MDH(Malate dehydrogenase),and G6PDH(Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase)activities in the muscle,liver,and AchE(Acetylcholine esterase)activity in the brain and muscle revealed maximum significantly(p<0.01),but ALT(Alanine aminotransferase)and AST(Aspartate aminotransferase)activity showed significant(p<0.01)depletion in the muscle and liver in treatment-breeding(TB)condition.The fishes under treatment-dry(TD)condition presented significant(p<0.01)higher elevation in HK(Hexokinase)activity in the muscle and liver.Additionally,the result of principal component analysis(PCA)depicted the positive as well as in some cases a negative correlation among the enzymatic activities both in dry and breeding seasons.So,it can be inferred that choline enrichment in fishes can substantiate the well nutritionally balanced food-flesh for consumption under this farm culture and the choline behaved as a positive contaminant into the pond eco-system under the semi-intensive culture condition.

Optimum scheduling of hydrothermal plants generation is of great importance to electric utilities. Many evolutionary techniques such as particle swarm optimization, differential evolution have been applied to solve these problems and found to perform in a better way in comparison with conventional optimization methods. But often these methods converge to a sub-optimal solution prematurely. This paper presents a new improved particle swarm optimization technique called self-organizing hierarchical particle swarm optimization technique with time-varying acceleration coefficients (SOHPSO_TVAC) for solving short-term economic generation scheduling of hydrothermal systems to avoid premature convergence. A multi-reservoir cascaded hydrothermal system with nonlinear relationship between water discharge rate, power generation and net head is considered here. The performance of the proposed method is demonstrated on two test systems comprising of hydro and thermal units. The results obtained by the proposed methods are compared with other methods. The results show that the proposed technique is capable of producing better results.

Present work compared the toxicological responses of A.testudineus(Bloch)to anthracene exposure after treatment with two concentrations i.e.,25%(0.0075 mg/l)and 50%(0.015 mg/l)of LC50 value(0.030 mg/l)for different exposure periods of 1,5,10,15 and 21 day(s).An intensive comparison of the effects was made based on haematological and biochemical parameters of blood.Haematological responses revealed significant increase in some blood parameters,viz.,WBC,%LYM,MCV,MCH and MCHC but RBC,Hb,PCV and PLT showed decreasing trends.Biochemical responses like CHOLES,PRO,ALB,Trig showed enhanced pattern in the initial exposure of day one then reduced gradually but GLU,GPT,Ca,ALP,HDL,and LDL showed reverse pattern.Additionally,integrated biomarker responses(IBR)indicated that the biochemical parameters are more useful in determining the anthracene stress on fish health than the haematological parameters.Overall findings of this study suggested that the IBR analysis is a useful tool in monitoring quantitative(dose-specific)as well as qualitative(exposure-specific)responses to toxicological effects of anthracene exposure on fish health.

A systematic investigation of secondary phase dissolution in Mg-Sn alloys

As-cast Mg-Sn alloys(3,6,and 9 wt%Sn)were solution treated at 653,703 and 753 K(380,430 and 480℃)for 1,4,8,12 and 24 h to determine the variation of secondary phase with respect to Sn content,temperature and time.Mg-3 wt%Sn exhibits Mg2Sn dissolution at all solution treatment temperatures whereas Mg-6 and 9 wt%Sn alloy displays Mg2Sn reprecipitation and dissolution depending on the heat treatment temperature.In addition,a combined mathematical model that predicts the secondary phase dissolution and solute redistribution as a function of temperature and time is presented in this work.This model is a significant improvement compared to the previous studies where the dissolution and homogenization processes are considered independently.The effect of grain size and solute mobility upon the dissolution and homogenization kinetics is discussed as well.
