Floodplain forests with regular flooding regimes are the largest natural retentions areas in Croatia and are important as natural habitats for *** aim of this study was to determine the scale of mortality caused by flooding within these *** a 10-year period,data on ungulate mortality(red deer,roe deer and wild boar),flood duration and flooded surface area were *** study was conducted in primary(Posavske Sume—RET I)and secondary(Opeke II—RET II)retention areas within Lonjsko Polje Nature Park(Sava River region,Croatia).The longest flood period and the largest flooded surface area were recorded in RET *** ungulate mortality was749 individuals,with 482 individuals in RET I and 267 individuals in RET II,predominantly wild *** mortality did not differ by *** highest mortality of wild boar was recorded for the juvenile and yearling *** mortality of red and roe deer can be attributed to their body size and ecological *** in mortality between the primary and secondary retention areas corresponded to differences in flood regimes,flood column heights and micro relief *** both retention areas,wild boar mortality and flood duration,*** surface area,were positively *** the growth rate of the analysed ungulate populations was higher than the recorded mortality,no long-term effect of floods is expected on species abundance in these areas.

What is the influence of the media as a means of work today？ Media as a material （paper, canvas, vinyl, etc.） on which it is printed, with its specific characteristics and special features--texture （plain, uneven, with a defined relief）, colour shade, and even thickness; media as a means of documentation of the result of the creative process through catalogues; media as a mediator representing the result of this process in the common cultural sphere. How powerful is the media？ There is one thing happening at the moment of ＂the event occurring＂ in the institution （a gallery, an exhibition hall, etc.）. It is performed, reproduced, eventually sold. Otherwise it does not exist--it is not paid attention in the media, it is released nowhere （it is nowhere ＂published＂）, respectively it does not influence anybody and does not iustify the use of its existence.

The enzymatic degradation of azo dyes is a promising alternative to ineffective chemical and physical remediation *** peroxidase(LiP)from Phanerochaete chrysosporium is a hemecontaining lignin-degrading oxidoreductase that catalyzes the peroxide-dependent oxidation of diverse molecules,including industrial *** enzyme is therefore ideal as a starting point for protein ***,we subjected two positions(165 and 264)in the environment of the catalytic Trp171 residue to saturation mutagenesis,and the resulting library of 104 independent clones was expressed on the surface of yeast *** yeast display library was used for the selection of variants with the ability to break down structurally-distinct azo dyes more *** identified mutants with up to 10-fold greater affinity than wild-type LiP for three diverse azo dyes(Evans blue,amido black 10B and Guinea green)and up to 13-fold higher catalytic ***,cell wall fragments displaying mutant LiP enzymes were prepared by toluene-induced cell lysis,achieving significant increases in both enzyme activity and stability compared to a whole-cell *** cell wall fragments retained their initial dye degradation activity after 10 reaction cycles each lasting 8 *** best-performing mutants removed up to 2.5-fold more of each dye than the wild-type LiP in multiple reaction cycles.

Epsilon-near-zero and epsilon near-pole materials enable reflective systems supporting a class of symmetryprotected and accidental embedded eigenstates (EEs) characterized by a diverging phase resonance. Here we show that pairs of topologically protected scattering singularities necessarily emerge from EEs when a non-Hermitian parameter is introduced,lifting the degeneracy between oppositely charged singularities. The underlying topological charges are characterized by an integer winding number and appear as phase vortices of the complex reflection coefficient. By creating and annihilating them,we show that these singularities obey charge conservation,and provide versatile control of amplitude,phase,and polarization in reflection,with potential applications for polarization control and sensing.

BACKGROUND Acute pancreatitis is a rare extrapulmonary manifestation of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)but its full correlation with COVID-19 infection remains *** To identify acute pancreatitis’occurrence,clinical presentation and outcomes in a cohort of kidney transplant recipients with acute *** A retrospective observational single-centre cohort study from a transplant centre in Croatia for all adult renal transplant recipients with a functioning kidney allograft between March 2020 and August 2022 to record cases of acute pancreatitis during acute *** were obtained from hospital electronic medical *** acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection was proven by a positive SARS-CoV-2 real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction on the nasopharyngeal *** Four hundred and eight out of 1432(28.49%)patients who received a renal allograft developed COVID-19 *** analyzed cohort included 321 patients(57%males).One hundred and fifty patients(46.7%)received at least one dose of the anti-SARS-CoV-2 vaccine before the *** hundred twenty-five(39.1%)patients required hospitalization,141(44.1%)developed pneumonia and four patients(1.3%)required mechanical *** included immunosuppression modification in 233 patients(77.1%)and remdesivir in 53 patients(16.6%),besides the other supportive *** the study cohort,only one transplant recipient(0.3%)developed acute pancreatitis during acute COVID-19,presenting with abdominal pain and significantly elevated pancreatic *** survived without complications with a stable kidney allograft *** Although rare,acute pancreatitis may complicate the course of acute COVID-19 in kidney transplant *** mechanism of injury to the pancreas and its correlation with the severity of the COVID-19 infection in kidney transplant recipients warrants further research.

Our Experience in Collecting Tiger Mosquitoes Using Ovitraps in Strumica, Gevgelija and the Border Crossing to Greece

Collecting eggs of Aedes （Stegomyia） albopictus （Skuse, 1894）（Diptera, ram. Culicidae）, i.e. Asian tiger mosquito was carded out in August 2016. Fourteen （14） ovitraps were placed at 3 different places： the area Banja Bansko （near Strumica）, Mrzenci （Gevgelija） and at the border crossing between Macedonia-Greece （Bogorodica）. During one month the ovitraps were exposed for two weeks, near the vegetation that mosquitoes use as resting places, also in the places where people are present and close to potted flower arrangements. The collected eggs from the ovitraps were returned to the Entomological laboratory of the P.H.O. Center for public health-Skopje and put in an entomological （hand-made） cage. Under the optimum moisture and temperature, after a few days the adults emerged. The determination of species was performed using a binocular magnifier. A total of 50 mosquitoes were collected, of those 23 were male Ae. albopictus and 27 were female Ae. albopictus. These examples were verified by prof. Dusan Petric and the Medical entomology laboratory at the Faculty of Agficul^tre Novi Sad （Republic of Serbia）. The presence of Ae. albopictus in the Republic of Macedonia was for the first time determined. We are now even more motivated to investigate and prove the presence of tiger mosquitos in other locations in Macedonia.
