Optimization of an Underwater Wireless Sensor network Architecture with Wave Glider as a Mobile Gateway

This paper presents an original probabilistic model of a hybrid underwater wireless sensor network(UWSn),which includes a network of stationary sensors placed on the seabed and a mobile *** mobile gateway is a wave glider that collects data from the underwater network segment and retransmits it to the processing *** authors consider the joint problem of optimal localization of stationary network nodes and the corresponding model for bypassing reference nodes by a wave *** optimality of the network is evaluated according to the criteria of energy efficiency and *** influence of various physical and technical parameters of the network on its energy efficiency and on the lifespan of sensor nodes is *** analysis is carried out for networks of various scales,depending on the localization of stationary nodes and the model of bypassing the network with a wave *** a model example,the simulation of the functional characteristics of the network for a given size of the water area is carried *** is shown that in the case of a medium-sized water area,the model of“bypassing the perimeter”by a wave glider is practically feasible,energy efficient and reliable for hourly data *** the case of a large water area,the cluster bypass model becomes more efficient.

This work proposes an innovative approach to evaluate the functional characteristics of a heterogeneous underwater wireless acoustic sensor network(UWASn) using a stochastic model and the network connectivity criterion. The connectivity criterion is probabilistic and considers inherently distinct groups of parameters: technical parameters that determine the network function at specific levels of the communication stack and physical parameters that describe the environment in the water area. The proposed approach enables researchers to evaluate the network characteristics in terms of energy efficiency and reliability while considering specific network and environmental parameters. Moreover, this approach is a simple and convenient tool for analyzing the effectiveness of protocols in various open systems interconnection model levels. It is possible to assess the potential capabilities of any protocol and include it in the proposed model. This work presents the results of modeling the critical characteristics of heterogeneous three-dimensional UWASns of different scales consisting of stationary sensors and a wave glider as a mobile gateway, using specific protocols as examples. Several alternative routes for the wave glider are considered to optimize the network's functional capabilities. Optimal trajectories of the wave glider's movement have been determined in terms of ensuring the efficiency and reliability of the hybrid UWASn at various scales. In the context of the problem, an evaluation of different reference node placement was to ensure message transmission to a mobile gateway. The best location of reference nodes has been found.

Red blood cells(RBCs)are able to interact and communicate with endothelial cells(ECs).Under some pathological or even normal conditions,the adhesion of RBCs to the endothelium can be ***,the mechanisms and many aspects of the interaction between RBCs and ECs are not fully *** this work,we considered the interaction of single RBCs with single ECs in vitro aiming to quantitatively determine the force of this interaction using laser *** were performed under different concentrations of proaggregant macromolecules and in the presence or absence of tumor necrosis factor(TnF-α)activating the *** have shown that the strength of interaction depends on the concentration of fibrinogen or dextran proaggregant macromolecules in the environment.A nonlinear increase in the force of cells interaction(from 0.4 pn to 21 pn)was observed along with an increase in the fibrinogen con-centration(from 3 mg/mL to 9 mg/mL)in blood plasma,as well as with the addition of dextran macromolecules(from 10 mg/mL to 60 mg/mL).Dextran with a higher molecular mass(500 kDa)enhances the adhesion of RBCs to ECs greater compared to the dextran with a lower molecular mass(70 kDa).With the preliminary activation of ECs with TnF-α,the force of interaction ***,the adhesion of echinocytes to EC compared to discocytes is significantly *** results may help to better understand the process of interaction between RBCs and ECs.

Formation of Rutile nanoparticles from the Condensed Disperse Phase at a Surface of High-Temperature Particles

The photos, which are done by electron microscope, of the condensed disperse phase, surrounding high-temperature metal particles are presented. The dependence of concentration of condensed dispersive phase which surrounds a high-temperature metal particle upon the temperature of the particle was obtained. The dependence of concentration of electrons in condensed dispersive phase upon the temperature of the particle was studied. The dependence of an equilibrium charge of a metal particle surrounded with condensed disperse phase on the temperature of a particle in a positive and negative region is presented. The dependence of a charge of a metal particle on time at the fixed temperature is obtained.

This study provides new insights into the nature of seasonal variations in coordinate time series of GPS sites located near active faults and methods of their modeling. Monthly averaged coordinate time series were analyzed for several pairs of collocated GPS sites situated near the active fault intersection area, in close proximity to the central part of the northern boundary of the Amurian plate and the vicinity of the San Andreas Fault zone. It is concluded that the observed seasonal variations are best described by a breather function which is one of the solutions of the well-known sine-Gordon equation. The obtained results suggest that, in this case, the source of seasonal variations may be caused by the appearance of solitary strain waves in the fault intersection system, which may be qualitatively treated as standing waves of compression-extension of the geological medium. Based on statistical testing, the limits of applicability of the suggested model have been established.

Influence of frost weathering on the recession of surfaces of technogenic landforms in Yakutia

The article assesses the influence of permafrost weathering on the rate of destruction of technogenic land forms,as exhibit ed on as illustrated by the railway embankment of the Amur Yakut mainline in the Sakha Republic(Yakutia).Studies were carried out on a railway section more than 375 km *** subsidence rate of the embankment slopes and structur al excavations was determined using laboratory methods that simulate various mechanisms of temperature(with a transi tion through 0℃)impact on *** the first time,a quantitative assessment of the influence of cryogenic weathering on the stability of the railway in the region belonging to the northern building climatic zone is *** the territory un der consideration,embankment rocks were experimentally determined to undergo more than 100 freezing and thawing cy cles during a *** the existing climatic conditions,cryogenic weathering actively affects the embankment of the railway to a depth of 30 *** of the embankment deformations detected during field observations are due to defects in the integrity of this particular *** size of the disintegrating layer of particular types of rock comprising the rail way embankment has been established as reaching 10 cm per *** 5 years following the formation of embankments comprising the upper structure of the railroad tracks,the physical and mechanical properties of rocks,which initially had a tensile strength for uniaxial compression in the range of 40 70 MPa,were reduced by more than 50%.According to the authors,the establishment of regional cryohypergenesis features is universal in nature and can be applied to solving a wide range of tasks related to the assessment and prediction of the degree of cryogenic transformation of rocks having different structural properties.

The Fifth Edition of the General Catalogue of Variable Stars:experiences in the constellation Centaurus

We have recently announced that the General Catalogue of Variable Stars enters the stage of its fifth, purely electronic edition （GCVS 5.1）. We have included 1408 variable stars in the constellation Centaurus in this new version, GCVS 5.1. Working on this revision, we applied current possibilities from data mining, suggested new variability types for many variable stars and found new light elements for a large number of periodic variables. This paper describes the work completed during the preparation of GCVS 5.1 for Centaurus and discusses in detail a number of the most astrophysically significant cases.
