The sessile lifestyle of plants requires an immediate response to environmental stressors that affect photosynthesis,growth,and crop ***,we showed that three abiotic perturbations—heat,cold,and high light—triggered considerable changes in the expression signatures of 42 epitranscriptomic factors(writers,erasers,and readers)with putative chloroplast-associated functions that formed clusters of commonly expressed genes in *** expression changes under all conditions were reversible upon deacclimation,identifying epitranscriptomic players as modulators in acclimation *** dysfunctions,particularly those induced by the oxidative stress-inducing norflurazon in a largely GEnOME UnCOUPLED-independent manner,triggered retrograde signals to remodel chloroplastassociated epitranscriptomic expression patterns.n6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)is known as the most prevalent RnA modification and impacts numerous developmental and physiological functions in living *** cold treatment,expression of components of the primary nuclear m^(6)A methyltransferase complex was upregulated,accompanied by a significant increase in cellular m^(6)A mRnA *** the cold,the presence of FIP37,a core component of the writer complex,played an important role in positive regulation of thylakoid structure,photosynthetic functions,and accumulation of photosystemⅠ,the Cytb6f complex,cyclic electron transport proteins,and Curvature Thylakoid1 but not that of photosystemⅡcomponents and the chloroplast ATP *** of FIP37 affected abundance,polysomal loading,and translation of cytosolic transcripts related to photosynthesis in the cold,suggesting m^(6)Adependent translational regulation of chloroplast *** summary,we identified multifaceted roles of the cellular m^(6)A RnA methylome in coping with cold;these were predominantly associated with chloroplasts and served to stabilize photosynthesis.

Volatile components in diamonds, associated garnet (pyrope), and olivine from two extremely rare xenoliths of diamondiferous peridotites recovered from the Udachnaya kimberlite pipe in Yakutia, Russia, were analyzed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) using a Focus DSQ II Series Single Quadrupole GC–MS (Thermo Scientific, USA). These xenoliths are pyrope lherzolite and pyrope dunite based upon compositions of coexisting minerals. Unlike the pyrope lherzolite, which contained pyrope with moderate calcium (Ca)-component content (about 15 mol%), the dunite contained subcalcic chromium (Cr)-pyrope with low Ca-component content (less than 10 mol%). All investigated minerals contained dominating hydrocarbons and their derivatives represented by aliphatic (paraffins, olefins), cyclic (naphthenes, arenes), oxygenated (alcohols, ethers), and heterocyclic (dioxanes, furans) hydrocarbons;nitrogenated, chlorinated, and sulfonated compounds;carbon dioxide (CO2);and water (H2O). The relative concentration (rel%) of total hydrocarbon was 79.7 rel% for diamonds, 69.1 rel% for garnet, and 92.6 rel% for olivine, with a general amount of components ranging from 161 to 206. new data on volatiles in diamonds, associated garnet, and olivine suggest the presence of a wide spectrum of hydrocarbons along with nitrogen (n2), CO2, and H2O in some upper mantle areas.

Mescaline,among the earliest identified natural hallucinogens,holds great potential in psychotherapy ***,despite the existence of a postulated biosynthetic pathway for more than half a century,the specific enzymes involved in this process are yet to be *** this study,we investigated the cactus Lophophora williamsii(Peyote),the largest known natural producer of the phenethylamine *** employed a multi-faceted approach,combining de novo whole-genome and transcriptome sequencing with comprehensive chemical profiling,enzymatic assays,molecular modeling,and pathway engineering for pathway *** identified four groups of enzymes responsible for the six catalytic steps in the mescaline biosynthetic pathway,and an n-methyltransferase enzyme that n-methylates all phenethylamine intermediates,likely modulating mescaline levels in ***,we reconstructed the mescaline biosynthetic pathway in both nicotiana benthamiana plants and yeast cells,providing novel insights into several challenges hindering complete heterologous mescaline *** together,our study opens up avenues for exploration of sustainable production approaches and responsible utilization of mescaline,safeguarding this valuable natural resource for future generations.

Possibility for Recognition of Psychic Brain Activity with Continuous Wavelet Analysis of EEG

The brain is a unique organization in nature, possessing the ability for psychic activity, which manifests itself in thoughts, feelings and emotions. In present days, numbers of mathematical methods for analysis of electroencephalogram (EEG) were developed with continuous wavelet transform being one of the most successive approaches for studying of brain activity. This paper is aimed to develop methods for investigation of psychic brain activity with help of continuous wavelet analysis of EEG. Ability of human to realize semantic content of the image presented on the screen was tested. Experiment was accompanied with simultaneous EEG recording, which was held with developed software and PC-based experimental setup. The information capabilities of continuous wavelet transform-based method for EEG analysis were improved for the recognition of specific patterns in human brain activity. Comparative wavelet analysis was carried out for EEG recordings at the moment of awareness of the semantic content of the image and for EEG recordings in the absence of conscious (subjective) perception of the semantic content of the image. Significant differences were shown in the alpha rhythm of EEG for the moments of awareness of the semantic content of the image and for the moments of absence of conscious perception. Continuous wavelet analysis of EEG showed that the alpha rhythm is the main EEG rhythm, which can be used to estimate the presence of subjective perception of the visual image. Significant differences were shown in the alpha rhythm of EEG for the moments of awareness of the semantic content of the image and for the moments of absence of conscious perception. Conducted studies allow to conclude that revealing of brain activity related to visual image awareness is possible through analysis of EEG.

In order to evaluate the phylogenetic position and validity of Rana altaica,we investigated the phylogeny of brown frogs in Eurasia by Bayesian Inference and Maximum Parsimony analyses of a fragment from the mitochondrial DnA gene Cytochrome *** analyses resolved *** as nesting deeply within *** samples of the nominal *** from the Altai region and specimens from Central Siberia shared a haplotype with *** based on the network *** matrilineal relationships suggested that *** should be considered as a junior synonym of ***,our study suggested that the species group division of Chinese brown frogs should be re-evaluated within a phylogenetic context.

In this study, thin films were produced by magnetron sputtering nC （nanocrystalline） specimens of titanium saturated in hydrogen and were evaluated by layer-by-layer SIMS （secondary ion mass spectrometry） and Raman spectroscopy. Due to magnetron sputtering, the chemical composition of the films was non-homogeneous and was variable among layers. Moreover, in the deposition of specimens saturated with hydrogen, hydrogen diffused throughout the depth of the film; diffusion, however, was restricted to the area near the film-substrate interface, affecting less than 50% of the thickness of the film.

The study investigated essential oils of berries and green biomass of the sea buckthorn at various growth stages. Plant material of H. rhamnoídes ssp. mongolica was collected in the experimental fields of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics SB RAS (Siberia, Russia). Volatile compounds and essential oils were detected. Green spring shoots without leaves, first-year seedlings without leaves and berries were analyzed. In all studied exemplars, 103 volatile compounds were defined among which considerable proportion wasn’t found in a sea-buckthorn earlier. Phenylpropanoids prevailed in essential oils composition from seedlings. Alkanes and phenylpropanoids prevailed in shoots. Berries contained mostly carboxylic acids and their esters. These data can be applied to a fingerprint of various cultivars of a sea-buckthorn with relevance to food science and technology.

Clipping versus coiling in posterior circulation intracranial aneurysms: a meta-analysis

Posterior circulation intracranial aneurysm (IA) treatment remains challenging, due to the anatomy of the area and the high rupture possibility. Endovascular treatment seems to be more suitable for these aneurysms, but studies focused on endovascular treatment demonstrate a high rate of re-intervention needing. A meta-analysis might offer a clearer view, being useful in a more effective treatment planning. Methods: A systematic search was performed, using the PubMed database platform. The final article pool contained 20 articles. Studied parameters were operative mortality, late mortality, permanent neurologic deficit (PnD), and the need for re-intervention (Re-int). We divided patients into two subgroups, those with ruptured and those with unruptured aneurysm. Statistical analysis was performed using appropriate software. Results: In the total population (645 patients), there was a superiority of coiling over clipping in terms of PnD and of coiling in terms of Re-int. As regards mortality, there was no clear superiority of one method over the other. Conclusions: The current study came to the conclusion that there is a superiority of coiling over clipping in terms of PnD. On the other hand, clipping seems to be superior to coiling in terms of the need for re-intervention. As regards mortality (both operative and late), there is no clear superiority of one method over the other. Studying subgroups of patients (ruptured and unruptured posterior circulation IAs), in terms of PnD, there is no superiority of one method over the other. The same goes for Op-Mo on ruptured aneurysms.
