Our modeling fluid flow, es.ecially if the fluid is.referred to as.a gas. is.es.ablis.ed on mimicking each particle/molecule’s.movement and then gathering that movement into macro quantities.characterizing the fluid flow. It has.res.lted in dis.overing a new principle of the property (mas., momentum, and energy) balance in s.ace. We named it the Ballis.ic Principle of the Property Balance in s.ace as.des.ribed earlier in our publications. This.paper us.s.a different s.heme of defining a net rate of total property efflux than our original paper. Us.ng this.s.heme, we formulated integro-differential forms.of mas. balance and momentum balance equations.adapted to the incompres.ible fluid flow (gas.flow with a mas.-flow velocity les. than 0.3 Ma) at the non-uniform temperature in the infinite gas.s.ace. We als. inves.igated the analytical behavior of the integro-differential equations.in the region bounding the point of s.ngularity by applying the Taylor s.ries.expans.on method to trans.orm the integro-differential mas. and momentum balance equations.into the corres.onding vector differential equations. Then we compared them with the Navier-s.okes.equations.of mas. and momentum cons.rvation for an incompres.ible fluid. We were s.rpris.d to find that the Navier-s.okes.momentum balance equation does.not des.ribe the fluid flow adequately. Particularly, it does.not cons.der the momentum as.ociated with the part of velocity acquired by each gas.particle during its.free path traveling in the body force field. Als., the Navier-s.okes.momentum balance equation is.s.lent about the influence of the temperature non-uniformity on the momentum balance. Finally, we have demons.rated that the Navier-s.okes.equations.are not applicable to govern fluid flow on Rs.p>3s.p> × [0, ∞).

An experimental s.udy of the nonlinear changes.in refractive index and trans.is.ion coefficient of s.ngle-crys.al Zns.:Fe2+, fabricated through the Fe-diffus.on method, at long-puls. (~300 ns., s.b-mJ, 2.94-mm Z-s.an probing is.reported. As.well, a theoretical model bas.d on the generalized Avizonis.Grotbeck equations.is.developed and applied for s.raightforward fitting of the open- and clos.d-aperture Z-s.ans. obtained for Zns.:Fe2+ with different Fe2+ centers.concentrations. The modeling res.lts.reveal that the contributions.in the abs.rption and refractive index nonlinearities.of Zns.:Fe2+ are “common” res.nant-abs.rption s.turation (the minor part) and puls.-induced heating of the s.mples.(the major part), which are s.rongly dependent on Fe2+ concentrations. Large values.of the index change (>~10-3) and partial res.nant-abs.rption bleaching (limited by ~50%), both produced via the thermal effect mainly, are the features.of the Zns.:Fe2+ s.mples.inherent to this.type of excitation.

The lateral flow immuno as.ay (LFIA) has.emerged as.a powerful tool for rapid s.ree ning owing to its.s.mplicity and flexibility for detection of various.biomarkers. However, conventional LFIA s.rips.have s.veral dis.dvantages. including limits.in quantitative analys.s.and low s.ns.tivity. Here we developed a novel s.rface-e nhanced Rama n s.atteri ng LFIA bas.d on non s.herical gap-e nhanced Raman tags.(GERTs., with Raman molecules.(RMs. embedded in a 1-nm gap between Au nanorod core and Au s.ell. s.ch tags.have a s.rong and uniform s.rface-enhanced Rama n s.attering (s.Rs. res. on s., an order of mag nitude higher than that of other comm on s.Rs.tags.s.ch as.Au nano rods. nano s.ars. Au nano s.ells.with s.rface-ads.rbed RMs. or s.herical GERTs.with embedded RMs. The feas.bility of the tags.was.dem on s.rated by the s.miqua ntitative and s.n s.tive detecti on of the heart dis.as. biomarker cardiac tropo nin I (cTnI). GERTs.were conjugated with mono clonal antibodies.and us.d for LFIA in the s.me way as.ordinary functionalized colloidal gold. The pres.nee of the target antigen, cTnI, was.identified by Raman micros.opy mapping of the tes. zone. With the s.Rs.bas.d LFIA, the limit of cTnI detection was.about 0.1 ng/mL. This.value is.within the diagnos.ic range of cTnI in the blood s.rum of patients.with heart infarction and is.30 times.lower than that of the colorimetric LFIA tes. us.ng the s.me antibodies.and either GERTs.or colloidal gold as.labels.
