Japan has become a more aged society and there are more drivers, 65 years of age and above. Cars represent an important mode of transportation for the elderly;however, in recent years, the number of traffic accidents caused by elderly drivers has been on the rise, and this has become a social issue. Thus, for the elderly drivers to encourage them to improve their driving, we study a driver agent system which consists of smartphone, communication robot and cloud service and provides the driving support by attention awakening and the feedback support based on driving behavior evaluation. In this paper, we presented a summary of the proposed agent and reported on a set of preliminary experiments using our agent in an actual car environment. From the analysis of subjective evaluations and fixation points during driving, the results revealed the possibility that the drivers accept the agent and supports from the agent during driving and that the agent in an actual car environment did not distract the driver.

Fiber reinforced polymer(FRP) composite materials are heterogeneous and anisotropic materials that do not exhibit plastic deformation. They have been used in a wide range of contemporary applications particularly in space and aviation,automotive,maritime and manufacturing of sports equipment. Carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) and glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP) composite materials,among other fiber reinforced materials,have been increasingly replacing conventional materials with their excellent strength and low specific weight properties. Their manufacturability in varying combinations with customized strength properties,also their high fatigue,toughness and high temperature wear and oxidation resistance capabilities render these materials an excellent choice in engineering *** the present review study,a literature survey was conducted on the machinability properties and related approaches for CFRP and GFRP composite materials. As in the machining of all anisotropic and heterogeneous materials,failure mechanisms were also reported in the machining of CFRP and GFRP materials with both conventional and modern manufacturing methods and the results of these studies were obtained by use of variance analysis(ANOVA),artificial neural networks(ANN) model,fuzzy inference system(FIS),harmony search(HS) algorithm,genetic algorithm(GA),Taguchi's optimization technique,multi-criteria optimization,analytical modeling,stress analysis,finite elements method(FEM),data analysis,and linear regression technique. Failure mechanisms and surface quality is discussed with the help of optical and scanning electron microscopy,and profilometry. ANOVA,GA,FEM,etc. are used to analyze and generate predictive models.

Due to their advantages in flexibility,scalability,survivability,and cost-effectiveness,drone swarms have been increasingly used for reconnaissance tasks and have posed great challenges to their opponents on modern *** paper studies an optimization problem for deploying air defense systems against reconnaissance drone *** a set of available air defense systems,the problem determines the location of each air defense system in a predetermined region,such that the cost for enemy drones to pass through the region would be *** cost is calculated based on a counterpart drone path planning *** solve this adversarial problem,we first propose an exact iterative search algorithm for small-size problem instances,and then propose an evolutionary framework that uses a specific encoding-decoding scheme for large-size problem *** implement the evolutionary framework with six popular evolutionary *** experiments on a set of different test instances validate the effectiveness of our approach for defending against reconnaissance drone swarms.

Electrical characteristics of Co/n-Si Schottky barrier diodes are analysed by current- voltage （I- V） and capacitancevoltage （C- V） techniques at room temperature. The electronic parameters such as ideality factor, barrier height and average series resistance are determined. The barrier height 0. 76 eV obtained from the C - V measurements is higher than that of the value 0. 70 eV obtained from the I - V measurements. The series resistance Rs and the ideality factor n are determined from the d ln（ I） /dV plot and are found to be 193.62 Ω and 1.34, respectively. The barrier height and the Rs value are calculated from the H（I） - I plot and are found to be 0.71 eV and 205.95Ω. Furthermore, the energy distribution of the interface state density is determined from the forward bias I - V characteristics by taking into account the bias dependence of the effective barrier height. The interface state density Nss ranges from 6.484×10^11 cm^-2eV^-1 in （Ec - 0.446） eV to 2.801×10^10 cm^-2eV^-1 in （Ec - 0.631） eV, of the Co/n-Si Schottky barrier diode. The results show the presence of a thin interracial layer between the metal and the semiconductor.

Effect of diluted povidone iodine in adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis on the rate of subepithelial corneal infiltrates

AIM: To evaluate the clinical characteristics of adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis, the management modalities, as well as the incidence of subepithelial corneal infiltrates(SEI).METHODS: Patients with characteristic clinical symptoms and signs, who presented to our clinic within the first week of symptoms and received the diagnosis of adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis between January 2013 and April 2016, were included in the study. A total of 211 patients were included in the study. Patients were evaluated for the incidence of clinical signs, late complications, management preferences, and the effect of diluted povidone-iodine(d-PVP-I) 2%. RESULTS: Patients’ mean age was 33.03±14.76 y. We observed an increase in the number of cases according to the years. At presentation and/or early follow-up, the clinical signs were conjunctival hyperemia(100%), conjunctival follicules(79.1%), edema of the eyelids(39.3%), chemosis(16.1%), pseudomembrane formation(16.6%), and corneal epitheliopathy(29.9%). During late follow-up 13.3% patients developed conjunctival subepithelial fibrosis, and 39.8% developed SEI. A significant decrease in the incidence of SEI development was observed in patients who used d-PVP-I 2%(P=0.032;33.3% vs 45.9%, respectively in patients who received d-PVP-I 2% and who did not).CONCLUSION: Adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis has a tremendous effect on patient’s comfort and abilities in short-term. Additionally, almost half of the patients develop visual problems related to SEI. According to our clinical experience, using d-PVP-I 2% in the first days of adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis might be helpful in reducing the risk of SEI as a complication.

Background Digoxin remains widely used today despite its narrow therapeutic index and toxicity. The objective of this study was to investigate the percentage of inappropriate use of digoxin and long-term outcomes of elderly patients hospitalized for digoxin toxicity. Methods The study included 99 consecutive patients hospitalized for digoxin toxicity. The other study criteria for the inappropriate use of digoxin was regarded if participants having depressed left ventricular systolic function （ejection fraction 〈 45%） who were not on optimal medical therapy including beta-blocker and angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitor therapy or if participants having permanent AF who were not on optimal beta-blocker therapy. Results Appropriate digoxin usage was confirmed in 33 of patients in spite of its narrow therapeutic index. A total of 16 of 99 patients died, with a mean follow-up time of 22.1 ± 10.3 months. Conclusions Contrary to popular belief, the rate of inappropriate digoxin usage remains high. On account of its narrow therapeutic index and toxicity, digoxin should be used more carefully according to the current evidence and guidelines.

Background:Complementary and alternative medicine(CAM)is applied both to children and adults widely throughout the world.A previous pan-European survey showed a surprisingly high CAM-use in Turkish *** review aimed to survey information on the use of CAM in pediatrics in *** sources:A narrative,non-systematic review was conducted by melding expert opinions with a thorough and balanced review of available *** unrestricted literature search using the key words,"alternative","complementary","integrative","prevalence"and"pediatric"or"children"and"Turkey"was performed by internet search in March,2012 using PubMed and Google ***:CAM use was examined in general pediatrics,pediatric oncology,patients with asthma,and patients with diabetes.A frequency of CAM use was 87%in Turkish pediatric patients,with a mean of 60%.The primary sources of information about CAM are family and *** with patients/parents and health care professionals showed that most parents do not speak about CAM use with their physicians or ***:CAM is extensively used in Turkish pediatric *** might be due to Turkey's status as a developing country in which a traditional medical system still dominates in comparison to developed ***,larger studies are required to prove an extensive use of CAM in Turkey,as this review article does not have the capacity for in-depth *** about CAM and its related topics is essential for physicians and nurses in order to meet the patients'wish for a competent consultation concerning all aspects of a possible therapy.

AIM： To evaluate central macular thickness（CMT） and mean choroidal thickness（MCT） in eyes with branch retinal vein occlusion（BRVO）, before and after ranibizumab treatment using spectral domain-optical coherence tomography（SD-OCT）.·METHODS： Forty-two patients with unilateral BRVO and macular edema were included in this study. There were 25 men and 17 women. Using SD-OCT, choroidal thickness was measured at 500 μm intervals up to 1500μm temporal and nasal to the fovea. MCT was calculated based on the average of the 7 locations. All the eyes with BRVO were treated with intravitreal ranibizumab（0.5 mg/0.05 m L）. Comparisons between the BRVO and fellow eyes were analyzed using Mann-Whitney U test. Preinjection and post-injection measurements were analyzed using Wilcoxon test and repeated measure analysis.· RESULTS： At baseline, there was a significant difference between the BRVO and fellow eyes in MCT[BRVO eyes 245（165-330） μm, fellow eyes 229（157-327） μm]and CMT [BRVO eyes 463（266-899） μm, fellow eyes 235（148-378） μm（P =0.041, 0.0001, respectively）]. Following treatment, CMT [295（141-558） μm] and MCT [229（157-329） μm] decreased significantly compared to the baseline measurements（P =0.001, 0.006, respectively）.Also BCVA（log MAR） improved significantly（P=0.0001） in the BRVO eyes following treatment. After treatment CMT[BRVO eyes 295（141-558） μm, fellow eyes 234（157-351） μm]and MCT [BRVO eyes 229（157-329） μm, fellow eyes 233（162-286） μm] values did not reveal any significant difference in BRVO eyes and fellow eyes（P=0.051, 0.824,respectively）.· CONCLUSION： In eyes with BRVO, CMT and MCT values are greater than the fellow eyes, and decrease significantly following ranibizumab injection.

以往对清朝诰命、敕命这类封赠文书的研究或较为抽象,且仅涉及相关制度在某一时间点的形态,或虽具体,却少见个案所处的历史脉络。因希望立体、生动地展示清朝的诰敕,故以世祖、圣祖、世宗三朝为时限,既研究诰敕制度的变迁,又呈现诰敕授予的趋势。由此发现,多民族的清朝有意以多种语言书写诰敕;在政局紧张时大量颁发以笼络人心,局势缓和后则修改制度、少量颁给以减少拥有者,以使诰敕珍贵;诰敕是清朝重要的政治工具。
