We study for a class of symmetric Lévy processes with state space R n the transition density pt(x) in terms of two one-parameter families of metrics, (dt)t>0 and (δt)t>0. The first family of metrics describes the diagonal term pt(0); it is induced by the characteristic exponent ψ of the Lévy process by dt(x, y) = ^(1/2)tψ(x-y). The second and new family of metrics δt relates to ^(1/2)tψ through the formulawhere F denotes the Fourier transform. Thus we obtain the following "Gaussian" representation of the transition density: pt(x) = pt(0)e- δ2t (x,0) where pt(0) corresponds to a volume term related to tψ and where an "exponential" decay is governed by δ2t . This gives a complete and new geometric, intrinsic interpretation of pt(x).

The imbalance between pathogenic and protective T cell subsets is a cardinal feature of autoimmune disorders such as multiple sclerosis(MS).Emerging evidence indicates that endogenous and dietary-induced changes in fatty acid metabolism have a major impact on both T cell fate and *** date,however,the molecular mechanisms that underlie the impact of fatty acid metabolism on T cell physiology and autoimmunity remain poorly ***,we report that stearoyl-CoA desaturase-1(SCD1),an enzyme essential for the desaturation of fatty acids and highly regulated by dietary factors,acts as an endogenous brake on regulatory T-cell(Treg)differentiation and augments autoimmunity in an animal model of MS in a T cell-dependent *** by RNA sequencing and lipidomics analysis,we found that the absence of Scd1 in T cells promotes the hydrolysis of triglycerides and phosphatidylcholine through adipose triglyceride lipase(ATGL).ATGL-dependent release of docosahexaenoic acid enhanced Treg differentiation by activating the nuclear receptor peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor *** findings identify fatty acid desaturation by SCD1 as an essential determinant of Treg differentiation and autoimmunity,with potentially broad implications for the development of novel therapeutic strategies and dietary interventions for autoimmune disorders such as MS.

As Central Asia is a region with wide spread water scarcity as a result of excessive irrigation of agriculture, land use changes deserve research about potential impacts on the already strained water resources. Poplars have a long tradition as agroforestry tree across Central Asia, while paulownia is new to the region, but has been gaining extreme attention as a potential plantation and/or agroforestry tree. Therefore, the water productivity of those two tree species is investigated here on 3-year-old trees, in order to provide insights in how far the newly introduced Paulownia could put additional strain on water resources compared to paulownia. Poplar (P. deltoides × nigra) increased the stem biomass by 5.4 kg at an average water consumption of 4.18 l/d (water productivity 6.79 g/l). Paulownia’s (Paulownia tomentosa × fortunei) stem biomass grew by 4.81 kg at 2.36 l/d in average (water productivity 11.9 g/l). Expanding paulownia would not exert more pressure on Central Asia’s water resources than an expansion of poplar.

利用自行设计的自约束渗透装置,采用热导检测器在线跟踪穿透实验过程中CO2或He的渗透信号,在40℃条件下,对比研究了CO2和He在阳泉煤CH4饱和基质煤柱(φ6×13mm)中的渗透行为,讨论了煤对气体的吸附或吸取作用及孔隙气压对渗透率的影响。研究表明,有别于煤对He的作用,在CO2和CH4交替渗透时,不同的CH4吹扫时间,对应于不同的CO2初始穿透时间。CO2穿透后被CH4吹扫36h,在煤柱中仍有残留,表明煤对CO2具有相对较强的吸着作用。He在煤柱中穿透后没有明显残留,并且He在测试煤柱中渗透率明显大于CO2的渗透率。在测试条件下,气体交替渗透多次的稳定渗透率无明显变化,表明煤柱的结构没有发生显著变化。由于孔壁效应、煤基质膨胀、吸附边界层等因素的存在,使得气体渗透率随孔隙气体压力的增加而降低。

Microbial growth in the water injection system is a well-known problem with severe operational and financial consequences for the petroleum industry, including microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC), reduced injectivity, reservoir plugging, production downtime, and extensive repair costs. Monitoring of system microbiology is required in any mitigation strategy, enabling operators to apply and adjust countermeasures properly and in due time. In previous studies [1] [2], DNA staining technology with SYBR Green dye was evaluated to have a sufficient detection limit and automation potential for real-time detection of microbial activity in the Saudi Aramco injection seawater. In this study, technical requirements and design solutions were defined, and an autonomous microbe sensor (AMS) prototype was constructed, tested and optimized in the laboratory, and validated in the field for automated detection of microorganisms in the harsh Saudi Arabia desert environment and injection seawater. The AMS prototype was able to monitor and follow the general microbial status in the system, including detection of periods with increased microbial growth or decreased microbial numbers following biocide injection. The infield AMS detection limit was 105 cells/mL. The long-term field testing also identified the areas for technical improvement and optimization for further development of a more robust and better performing commercial microbial sensing device.

AIM:To investigate a potential protective role of the kinin B2receptor in a glycerol-induced rhabdomyolysis mouse ***:We separated 28 C57Bl/6 male mice into4 groups:untreated WT animals,untreated B2knockout mice,glycerol-treated WT and glycerol-treated B2knockout ***-treated animals received one intramuscular injections of glycerol solution(50%v/v,7 m L/kg).After 48 h,urine and blood samples were collected to measure creatinine and urea ***,kidney samples were extracted for histological evaluation,and the m RNA expression levels of kinin B1 and B2 receptors and inflammatory mediators were measured by real-time polymerase chain ***:Serum creatinine and urea levels showed differences between untreated wild-type and glyceroltreated wild-type mice(0.66±0.04 vs 2.61±0.53mg/d L,Pvs 330.2±77.7mg/d L,Pvs 2.23±0.87 mg/d L,Pvs 327.2±58.4 mg/d L,P30 times,31.34±8.9)in *** injected with glycerol had a higher degree of tubular injury than untreated ***-type and knockout mice treated with glycerol intramuscularly present kidney injury,with impairment in renal ***,B2knockout mice treated with glycerol did not show a different phenotype regarding kidney injury markers,when compared to the wild-type glycerol-treated ***:We conclude that the kinin B2receptordoes not have a protective role in renal injury.

大洋底部多数为沉积物所覆盖,因此沉积物就构成了地球空间覆盖中最大的一个单一生态系统。虽然生活在沉积物表面和内部的微型、小型和大型海洋有机体中只有一小部分被描述过,而且很少有人试图对物种总数和生物地理分布进行统计,但对若干物种的比较全面的了解足以说明底栖有机体对生态系统主要过程有显著的影响。底栖有机体参与碳、氮、硫的循环,水体的演变,污染物的传播、积累、二次污染和迁移,以及沉积物的稳定性等过程。虽然对群体之间的联系和功能上的冗余水平知之甚少,但在群体内部还是可能存在大量冗余的。说明生物多样性对于海底系统参与生态系统功能来说是必要的证据很少,但鉴于它们之间联系了解很少,预测性知识也仅限于几个物种,所以目前还无法准确推断物种的减少如何影响这些功能和生态系统的健康。因此,"做最坏的打算"作为一种保险的方法是可行的,而且要尽量避免由于捕渔、污染、栖息地的破坏,非本地(外来)物种的引入和全球变暖所造成的物种和基因多样性的减少。同时,科学家们应充分利用当前蓬勃发展的科学技术和对生物多样性的高昂的兴趣,以提供关于底栖生物和生态系统过程的具体而全面的信息。
