Colorectal cancer(CRC)is among the leading causes of cancer *** lifetime risk of developing CRC is about 5%in adult males and *** is usually diagnosed at an advanced stage,and at this point therapy has a limited impact on cure rates and long-term *** and/or improved CRC therapeutic options are *** involvement of microRNAs(miRNAs)in cancer development has been reported,and their regulation in many oncogenic pathways suggests their potent tumor suppressor *** miRNAs provide a promising therapeutic approach for cancer,challenges such as biodegradation,specificity,stability and toxicity,impede their progression into clinical *** strategies offer diverse advantages for the use of miRNAs for CRC-targeted delivery and *** merits of using nanocarriers for targeted delivery of miRNA-formulations are presented herein to highlight the role they can play in miRNA-based CRC therapy by targeting different stages of the disease.

Factorization Patterns in F_q [x]

The finite field Fq has q elements, where q = pk for prime p and k∈N. Then Fq[x] is a unique factorization domain and its polynomials can be bijectively associated with their unique (up to order) factorizations into irreducibles. Such a factorization for a polynomial of degree n can be viewed as conforming to a specific template if we agree that factors with higher degree will be written before those with lower degree, and factors of equal degree can be written in any order. For example, a polynomial f(x) of degree n may factor into irreducibles and be written as (a)(b)(c), where deg a ≥ deg b ≥deg c. Clearly, the various partitions of n correspond to the templates available for these canonical factorizations and we identify the templates with the possible partitions. So if f(x) is itself irreducible over Fq, it would belong to the template [n], and if f(x) split over Fq, it would belong to the template [n] Our goal is to calculate the cardinalities of the sets of polynomials corresponding to available templates for general q and n. With this information, we characterize the associated probabilities that a randomly selected member of Fq[x] belongs to a given template. Software to facilitate the investigation of various cases is available upon request from the authors.

The French National Immunization Program was updated in 2013 for vaccination against diphtheria,tetanus,per-tussis,and *** previous findings on the evolution of age-specific booster vaccination coverage rates(VCRs)up to 2017 suggested suboptimal vaccination coverages due to the pre-2013 recommendation-residual vaccination *** the current analysis,we evaluated all age-specific booster VCR and distribution of age at vaccination visits in *** this retrospective observational cohort study,the cumulative booster VCRs were updated at all vaccination visits up to 2018 among the people who were eligible for a booster vaccination,using a 1/97th random sample of French national healthcare reimbursement *** cumulative booster VCR for individuals from all age groups increased from 2017 to 2018,except for 85-years-old vaccination *** of the individuals from all age groups were vaccinated(boosted)with a vaccine containing the pertussis *** 2018,sharp peaks corresponding to the recommended ages for booster vaccination visits were observed for individuals aged 6,11 to 13,25,45,and 65 *** study reiterates suboptimal coverages in France and implies the need for booster vaccination throughout life for the protection of the population.

Changes in Aerosol Optical Depth over the Arctic Ocean as Seen by CALIOP, MAIAC, and MODIS C6.1

Due to the recent increase in Arctic shipping, 2006-2020 June to October Cloud-Aerosol Lidar with Orthogonal Polarization (CALIOP), Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Collection 6.1 (C6.1), and Multi-Angle Implementation of Atmospheric Correction (MAIAC) retrieved aerosol optical depth (AOD) data were examined for changes in AOD from period 1 (P1, 2006-2012) to period 2 (P2, 2014-2020 (P2). Herein, AOD was statistically analyzed on a 0.25° × 0.25° grid and in the airsheds over the various ocean basins over the Arctic north of 59.75°N. According to heatmaps of the correlation between AOD and ship traffic, and AOD and fire emissions for the airsheds, all three AOD products captured the observed inter-annual variability in wildfire occurrence well, and showed wildfire emissions over Siberia were more severe in P2 than P1. Except for the Atlantic, North, and Baltic Seas, Beaufort Sea, and Barents Sea, all three AOD products indicated that AOD was higher over the various basins in P2 than P1, but disagreed on the magnitude. This fact suggests that the detection of changes in the typical low AOD over the Arctic Ocean might be rather qualitative than quantitative. While all products captured increases in AOD due to ships at berth, only MODIS C6.1 caught the elevated AOD due to shipping on the Siberian rivers. Obviously, sub-daily resolutions are required to capture increased AOD due to short-term events like a traveling ship or short-interval fire.

The “PAWPER-on-a-page”: Increasing global access to a low-cost weight estimation system

BACKGROUND: The PAWPER tape is one of the most accurate weight estimation systems available today, but international access to the tape is limited because it has no commercial distribution. For this reason, the "PAWPER-on-a-page" concept was devised: downloadable image fi les that allow users to print and assemble their own tapes. However, the feasibility of this method is dependent on users being able to produce accurate tapes. This study was devised to determine whether untrained participants could print and assemble the "PAWPER-on-a-page" easily and ***: Doctor and nurse volunteers downloaded the "PAWPER-on-a-page" and "PAWPER XL-on-a-page" image files and printed copies on a home-printer and also at a commercial printer. One copy of each tape was then assembled according to instructions from an online video. The accuracy of printing and assembly, the time taken for assembly and the cost were then ***: There were 32 participants. The median time for assembly was 8 minutes 19 seconds and 7 minutes 31 seconds for the "PAWPER-on-a-page" and "PAWPER XL-on-a-page" respectively, with a median cost of USD 0.09 and USD 1.00 respectively. For the assembled tapes, 71.9% of the "PAWPER-on-a-page" tapes and 65.6% of the "PAWPER XL-on-a-page" achieved the required accuracy of 0.2%. Printing errors, related to scaling, were common, but easily ***: The "PAWPER-on-a-page" system can be easily, quickly, affordably and accurately printed and assembled by end users. Stringent double checking of the printed and fully assembled tapes is essential to ensure accuracy.

June to October Aerosol Optical Depth over the Arctic at Various Spatial and Temporal Scales in MODIS, MAIAC, CALIOP and GOES Data

The accuracy of the cloud-aerosol lidar with orthogonal polarization (CALIOP), moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS), Multi-Angle Implementation of Atmospheric Correction (MAIAC), and Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) aerosol optical depth (AOD) products for the Arctic north of 59.75°N was examined by means of 35 aerosol robotic network (AERONET) AOD sites. The assessment for June to October 2006 to 2020 showed MAIAC AOD agreed the best with AERONET AOD;CALIOP AOD differed the strongest from the AERONET AOD. Cross-correlations of CALIOP AOD along the satellite path indicated that AOD-values 40 km up-and-down the path often failed to represent the AERONET AOD-values within ±30 min of the overpass in this region dominated by easterly winds. Typically, CALIOP AOD was lower than AERONET AOD and MAIAC AOD at the sites, especially, at sites with mean AOD below 0.1. Generally, MODIS AOD values exceeded those of MAIAC. Comparison of CALIOP, MAIAC, and MODIS products resampled on a 0.25° × 0.25° grid revealed differences among the products caused by their temporal and spatial resolution, sample habit and size. Typically, the MODIS AOD-product showed the most details in AOD distribution. Despite differences in AOD-values, all products provided similar temporal evolution of elevated and lower AOD.

Postoperative complications of colectomy and J- pouch with ileostomy versus without ileostomy in children with inflammatory bowel diseases: a systematic review and meta- analysis

Background The efficacy of performing a restorative proctocolectomy and J-pouch ileoanal anastomosis without diverting ileostomy in children with inflammatory bowel disease has been a longstanding debate.A systematic review and meta-analysis is presented comparing the occurrence of postoperative complications in children who underwent either the pouch-anal anastomosis(IPAA)with ileostomy(diverted)versus the undiverted *** Records were sourced from CINAHL,CENTRAL,EMBASE and MEDLINE *** followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines and compared postoperative complications in pediatric patients diagnosed with inflammatory diseases aged less than 18 years who underwent J-pouch with ileostomy versus without *** primary outcome was the occurrence of postoperative leaks,and the secondary outcomes were presence of postoperative small bowel obstruction(SBO),pouchitis,stricture and fistula complications.A random-effects meta-analysis was *** Twenty-three observational studies in the systematic review were included with 658 patients(83%diverted,17%undiverted).Pooled estimates showed no difference in occurrence of leaks in children who underwent J-pouch/IPAA with ileostomy versus without(odds ratio(OR)0.54,95%confidence interval(CI)0.17 to 1.64,I^(2)=16%).There was no difference in the occurrence of SBO,pouchitis or strictures in children who underwent J-pouch/IPAA with ileostomy versus without(SBO:OR 2.27,95%CI 0.52 to 9.92,I^(2)=0%,pouchitis:OR 1.76,95%CI 0.95 to 3.24,I^(2)=0%,strictures:OR 2.72,95%CI 0.44 to 16.69,I^(2)=66%).Conclusion The meta-analysis did not find differences in the occurrence of complications in pediatric patients who underwent the IPAA with ileostomy procedure versus without ileostomy.
