Despite tremendous efforts from scientists and clinicians worldwide, pancreatic adenocarcinoma(PDAC) remains a deadly disease due to the lack of early diagnostic tools and reliable therapeutic approaches. Consequently, a majority of patients(80%) display an advanced disease that results in a low resection rate leading to an overall median survival of less than 6 months. Accordingly, robust markers for the early diagnosis and prognosis of pancreatic cancer, or markers indicative of survival and/or metastatic disease are des-perately needed to help alleviate the dismal prognosis of this cancer. In addition, the discovery of new therapeutic targets is mandatory to design effective treatments. In this review, we will highlight the translational studies demonstrating that microRNAs may soon translate into clinical applications as long-awaited screening tools and therapeutic targets for PDAC.

[背景]人们不断地发现温度和死亡率之间(主要集中在大城市)呈现出U/j形关系,在低纬度地区具有较高的最低死亡率温度(MMT),人们将其解释为人类对气候适应的一种指标。[目的]用高分辨率网格来划分空间,以评估一个气候多样的地区在经过了一段明显的气候变暖期后的温度死亡率关系。[方法]对法国大陆地区(1968—2009年)自然原因死亡的65岁以上的16 487 668份死亡证明书进行分析。用一个30 km×30 km的网格覆盖法国地图。采用广义相加回归模型评估对应每个方格的温度死亡率关系,并提取MMT与RM25和RM25/18(分别为25℃/MMT和25℃/18℃的死亡率比)。分析的3个时期包括:1968—1981年(P1)、1982—1995年(P2)和1996—2009年(P3)。[结果]所计算的42年间,所有温度死亡率曲线都呈U/j形。MMT和夏季平均气温均呈强相关性。MMT平均值从P1的17.5℃上升到P2的17.8℃和P3的18.2℃,在P1和P3之间同时观察到夏季气温平行升高。MMT的时间增加趋势低于根据地理分析得到的预期值。随着气候变暖,25℃时的RM25/18死亡率比较18℃时显著下降(P=5×10-5):P1时为18%,P2时为16%,P3时为15%。[结论]本文的时空分析结果表明,一部分人适应了气候变化,甚至在农村地区也是如此。

We present a new design of a plasmonic Luneburg lens made from a gradient-index metasurface that was constructed with an array of nanometer-sized holes in a dielectric thin film. The fabricated structure consists of a planar lens with a diameter of 8.7 μm composed of a rectangular array of holes with a periodicity of 300 nm. The experimental characterization includes leakage-radiation microscopy imaging in the direction and frequency space. The former allows for characterization of the point spread function and phase distribution,whereas the latter grants access to qualitative measurements of the effective mode indices inside the plasmonic lens. The experimental results presented here are in good agreement with the expected average performance predicted by the numerical calculations. Nevertheless, the robustness of the characterization techniques presented here is also exploited to determine deviations from the design parameters.

Multiphoton microscopy combined with genetically encoded fluorescent indicators is a central tool in ***(3P)microscopy with excitation in the short-wavelength infrared(SWIR)water transparency bands at 1.3 and 1.7μm opens up new opportunities for deep-tissue ***,novel strategies are needed to enable in-depth multicolor fluorescence imaging and fully develop such an imaging ***,we report on a novel multiband SWIR source that simultaneously emits ultrashort pulses at 1.3 and 1.7μm that has characteristics optimized for 3P microscopy:sub-70 fs duration,1.25 MHz repetition rate,and μj-range pulse *** turn,we achieve simultaneous 3P excitation of green fluorescent protein(GFP)and red fluorescent proteins(mRFP,mCherry,tdTomato)along with third-harmonic *** demonstrate in-depth dual-color 3P imaging in a fixed mouse brain,chick embryo spinal cord,and live adult zebrafish brain,with an improved signal-to-background ratio compared to multicolor twophoton *** development opens the way towards multiparametric imaging deep within scattering tissues.

AIM:To investigate the expression of programmed cell death 4(Pdcd4)tumor suppressor gene in tissue specimen of renal cell carcinoma(RCC),testicular germ cell cancer and penile ***:Pdcd4 expression was studied using immunohistochemistry in 188 cases of RCC and 28 controls(including 9 oncocytoma);in 74 cases of penile carcinoma(including 17 metastatic tissue samples)and26 controls;in 11 cases of seminoma,in 14 cases of non-seminoma and 5 ***:Control tissues exhibited strong core and cytoplasmatic Pdcd4 *** contrast,core and cy-toplasmatic Pdcd4 levels were significantly decreased in cancer ***:Our data support a role for Pdcd4(down-)regulation in urologic ***,Pdcd4 expression seem to be a potential diagnostic marker for renal or penile tumors.
