Road geometric design data are a vital inp.t for diverse transp.rtation studies. This information is usually obtained from the road design p.oject. However, these are not always available and the as-built course of the road may diverge considerably from its p.ojected one, rendering subsequent studies inaccurate or imp.ssible. Moreover, the systematic acquisition of this data for the entire road network of a country or even a state rep.esents a very challenging and laborious task. This study＇s goal was the extraction of geometric design data for the p.ved segments of the Brazilian federal highway network, containing more than 47,000 km of highways. It p.esents the details of the method＇s adop.ion p.ocess, the p.rticularities of its ap.lication to the dataset and the obtained geometric design information. Additionally, it p.ovides a first overview of the Brazilian federal highway network comp.sition （curves and tangents） and geometry.

Objective:Running-related musculoskeletal injuries(RRMIs),esp.cially stemming from overuse,frequently occur in *** study aimed to systematically review the literature and determine the incidence and p.evalence p.op.rtion of RRMIs by anatomic location and sp.cific ***:An electronic database search with no date beginning restrictions was p.rformed in Sp.RTDiscus,p.bMed,and MEDLINE up.to June *** studies were used to find the anatomic location and the incidence p.op.rtion of each RRMI,whereas retrosp.ctive or cross-sectional studies were used to find the p.evalence p.op.rtion of each RRMI.A sep.rate analysis for ultramarathon runners was ***:The overall injury incidence and p.evalence were 40.2%±18.8%and 44.6%±18.4%(mean±SD),*** knee,ankle,and lower leg accounted for the highest p.op.rtion of injury incidence,whereas the knee,lower leg,and foot/toes had the highest p.op.rtion of injury *** tendinop.thy(10.3%),medial tibial stress syndrome(9.4%),p.tellofemoral p.in syndrome(6.3%),p.antar fasciitis(6.1%),and ankle sp.ains(5.8%)accounted for the highest p.op.rtion of injury incidence,whereas p.tellofemoral p.in syndrome(16.7%),medial tibial stress syndrome(9.1%),p.antar fasciitis(7.9%),iliotibial band syndrome(7.9%),and Achilles tendinop.thy(6.6%)had the highest p.op.rtion of injury *** ankle(34.5%),knee(28.1%),and lower leg(12.9%)were the 3 most frequently injured sites among ***:The injury incidence p.op.rtions by anatomic location between ultramarathoners and non-ultramarathoners were not significantly different(p.0.798).The p.thologies with the highest incidence p.op.rtion of injuries were anterior comp.rtment tendinop.thy(19.4%),p.tellofemoral p.in syndrome(15.8%),and Achilles tendinop.thy(13.7%).The interp.etation of ep.demiological data in RRMIs is limited due to several methodological issues encountered.

The corrosion resistance of three Mg alloys containing rare-earth elements(WE43,EV31 and ZE41)was studied and comp.red to that of two Mg-Al alloys(AZ31 and AZ91)and of p.re Mg(99.95 wt.%).Current-voltage curves and electrochemical imp.dance measurements were p.rformed with rotating disk electrodes in an aerated 0.1 M Na_(2)SO_(4)*** all the alloys,it was confirmed that the intermetallic p.rticles acted as local cathodes and that more p.otective films were formed on the alloys surface by comp.rison with the p.re *** rates were determined from inductive coup.ed p.asma-op.ical emission sp.ctroscop. measurements and from the electrochemical *** corrosion rates were observed for the rare-earth Mg alloys comp.red to the AZ series *** data allowed the corrosion mechanisms to be discussed.

Volcano-shap.d microelectrodes have demonstrated sup.rior p.rformance in measuring attenuated intracellular action p.tentials from cardiomyocyte cultures. However, their ap.lication to neuronal cultures has not yet yielded reliable intracellular access. This common p.tfall sup.orts a growing consensus in the field that nanostructures need to be p.tched to the cell of interest to enable intracellular access. Accordingly, we p.esent a new methodology that enables us to resolve the cell/p.obe interface noninvasively through imp.dance sp.ctroscop.. This method measures changes in the seal resistance of single cells in a scalable manner to p.edict the quality of electrop.ysiological recordings. In p.rticular, the imp.ct of chemical functionalization and variation of the p.obe’s geometry can be quantitatively measured. We demonstrate this ap.roach on human embryonic kidney cells and p.imary rodent neurons. Through systematic op.imization, the seal resistance can be increased by as much as 20-fold with chemical functionalization, while different p.obe geometries demonstrated a lower imp.ct. The method p.esented is therefore well suited to the study of cell coup.ing to p.obes designed for electrop.ysiology, and it is p.ised to contribute to elucidate the nature and mechanism of p.asma membrane disrup.ion by micro/nanostructures.
