This work investigated the applic.tion of several fluoresc.nc. exc.tation–emission matrix analysis methods as natural organic.matter（NOM） indic.tors for use in predic.ing the formation of trihalomethanes（THMs） and haloac.tic.ac.ds（HAAs）. Waters from four different sourc.s（two rivers and two lakes） were subjec.ed to jar testing followed by 24 hr disinfec.ion by-produc. formation tests using c.lorine. NOM was quantified using three c.mmon measures： dissolved organic.c.rbon, ultraviolet absorbanc. at 254 nm, and spec.fic.ultraviolet absorbanc. as well as by princ.pal c.mponent analysis, peak pic.ing,and parallel fac.or analysis of fluoresc.nc. spec.ra. Based on multi-linear modeling of THMs and HAAs, princ.ple c.mponent（Pc. sc.res resulted in the lowest mean squared predic.ion error of c.oss-folded test sets（THMs： 43.7（μg/L）^2, HAAs： 233.3（μg/L）^2）. Inc.usion of princ.ple c.mponents representative of protein-like material signific.ntly dec.eased predic.ion error for both THMs and HAAs. Parallel fac.or analysis did not identify a protein-like c.mponent and resulted in predic.ion errors similar to traditional NOM surrogates as well as fluoresc.nc. peak pic.ing. These results support the value of fluoresc.nc. exc.tation–emission matrix–princ.pal c.mponent analysis as a suitable NOM indic.tor in predic.ing the formation of THMs and HAAs for the water sourc.s studied.

A 9-month inc.bation experiment using c.mposted and non-c.mposted amendments derived from vine pruning waste and sewage sludge was c.rried out to study the effec.s of the nature and stability of organic.amendments on the struc.ural c.mposition of organic.matter (OM) in a semi-arid *** c.anges of soil OM,both in the whole soil and in the extrac.able c.rbon with pyrophosphate,were evaluated by pyrolysis-gas c.romatography and c.emic.l *** the end of the experiment,the soils amended with pruning waste exhibited less organic.c.rbon loss than those rec.iving sewage *** non-c.mposted residues inc.eased the aliphatic.pyrolytic.produc.s of the OM,both in the whole soil and also in the pyrophosphate extrac.,with the produc.s derived from peptides and proteins being signific.ntly *** 9 months,in the soils amended with pruning waste the relative abundanc. of phenolic.pyrolytic.produc.s derived from phenolic.c.mpounds,lignin and proteins in the whole soil tended to inc.ease more than those in the soils amended with sewage ***,the extrac.able OM with pyrophosphate in the soils amended with c.mposted residues tended to have higher c.ntents of these phenolic.pyrolytic.produc.s than that in non-c.mposted ***,despite the stability of pruning waste,the c.mposting of this material promoted the inc.rporation of phenolic.c.mpounds to the soil *** pyrolytic.indic.s (furfural/pyrrole and aliphatic.aromatic.ratios) showed the diminution of aliphatic.c.mpounds and the inc.ease of aromatic.c.mpounds,indic.ting the stabilization of the OM in the amended soils after 9 *** c.nc.usion,the c.anges of soil OM depend on the nature and stability of the organic.amendments,with c.mposted vine pruning waste favouring humific.tion.

Hydroc.rbon c.ntamination may affec. the soil mic.obial c.mmunity, in terms of both diversity and func.ion. A laboratory experiment was set-up, with a semi-arid c.ntrol soil and the same soil but artific.ally c.ntaminated with diesel oil, to follow c.anges in the dominant spec.es of the mic.obial c.mmunity in the hydroc.rbon-polluted soil via proteomic.. Analysis of the proteins extrac.ed from enric.ed c.ltures growing in Luria-Bertani （LB） media showed a c.ange in the mic.obial c.mmunity. The majority of the proteins were related to gIyc.lysis pathways, struc.ural or protein synthesis. The results showed a relative inc.ease in the c.mplexity of the soil mic.obial c.mmunity with hydroc.rbon c.ntamination, espec.ally after 15 days of inc.bation. Spec.es suc. as Ralstonia solanac.arum, Synec.oc.c.us elongatus and different c.ostridium sp. were adapted to c.ntamination, not appearing in the c.ntrol soil, although Bac.llus sp. dominated the growing in LB in any of the treatments. We c.nc.ude that the identific.tion of mic.obial spec.es in soil extrac.s by c.lture-dependent proteomic. is able to partially explain the c.anges in the diversity of the soil mic.obial c.mmunity in hydroc.rbon polluted semi-arid soils, but this information is muc. more limited than that provided by molec.lar methods.

Multic.llular organisms,suc. as plants,are c.arac.erized by highly spec.alized and tightly regulated c.ll populations,establishing spec.fic.morphologic.l struc.ures and exec.ting distinc. *** regulatory networks(GRNs)desc.ibe c.ndition-spec.fic.interac.ions of transc.iption fac.ors(TFs)regulating the expression of target genes,underpinning these spec.fic.*** effic.ent and validated methods to identify c.ll-type-spec.fic.GRNs from single-c.ll data in plants are lac.ing,limiting our understanding of the organization of spec.fic.c.ll types in both model spec.es and c.ops,we developed MINI-EX(Motif-Informed Network Inferenc. based on single-c.ll EXpression data),an integrative approac. to infer c.ll-type-spec.fic.networks in ***-EX uses single-c.ll transc.iptomic.data to define expression-based networks and integrates TF motif information to filter the inferred regulons,resulting in networks with inc.eased ***,regulons are assigned to different c.ll types,leveraging c.ll-spec.fic.expression,and c.ndidate regulators are prioritized using network c.ntrality measures,func.ional annotations,and expression *** embedded prioritization strategy offers a unique and effic.ent means to unravel signaling c.sc.des in spec.fic.c.ll types c.ntrolling a biologic.l proc.ss of *** demonstrate the stability of MINI-EX toward input data sets with low number of c.lls and its robustness toward missing data,and show that it infers state-of-the-art networks with a better performanc. c.mpared with other related single-c.ll network ***-EX suc.essfully identifies key regulators c.ntrolling root development in Arabidopsis and ric.,leaf development in Arabidopsis,and ear development in maize,enhanc.ng our understanding of c.ll-type-spec.fic.regulation and unraveling the roles of different regulators c.ntrolling the development of spec.fic.c.ll types in plants.

Small-sc.le biorefinery from sugarc.ne bagasse offers new possibilities to the sugar and ethanol *** aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of a small-sc.le biorefinery for the produc.ion of xylitol from sugarc.ne *** liquid frac.ion from the autohydrolysis treatment was selec.ed as the sourc. of sugars for xylitol and two sc.narios were analyzed for the residual solid:ethanol or pellet produc.ion.A tec.nic.l-ec.nomic.analysis of alternatives was *** internal rate of return(IRR)was used to c.mpare the selec.ed *** highest IRR values were obtained when proc.ssing 70,000 dry tons per year of *** results showed promising prospec.s for a small-sc.le biorefinery with c.pac.ties above 20,000 dry tons per year(xylitol and pellets),and above 50,000 dry tons per year(xylitol and ethanol).

BAc.GROUND The assoc.ation of two c.ngenital c.ronary artery anomalies(c.As) is extremely rare but represents one of the main c.use of sudden c.rdiac.death in young athletes. Although c.ronary angiography(c.-A) is still widely used in c.ildhood, c.rdiac.magnetic.resonanc.(c.MRI) and c.rdiac.c.mputed tomography(c.c.) have rec.ntly taken on an inc.easing diagnostic.role in early detec.ion of c.As and c.nc.mitant c.ngenital c.rdiac.*** SUMMARY A healthy 10-year-old male patient was referred to the Radiologic.l Department of our Institution due to no evidenc. of left c.ronary artery in ec.oc.rdiographic.examination. With c.MRI was detec.ed marked myoc.rdial trabec.lation and was suspec.ed anomalous origin and c.urse of left c.rc.mflex(Lc.) artery and of left anterior desc.nding(LAD) artery. With third generation Dual Sourc. c.c.192x2-sec.ions(SOMATOM Forc., Siemens, Germany) was c.nfirmed anomalous origin of Lc. artery from right pulmonary artery assoc.ated with anomalous origin of LAD artery from right c.ronary artery with c.urse in front of right ventric.lar outflow trac.. The patient underwent surgic.l treatment with reimplantation of the anomalous Lc. and LAD arteries into the wall of asc.nding aorta, with no postoperative c.mplic.tions. The patient remained asymptomatic.and follow-up c.MRI sc.n four months after operation showed c.mplete suc.ess of surgery *** This c.se highlights the diagnostic.potential of c.c. and c.MRI in evaluation of c.As and of c.rdiac.morphology and func.ionality, with very low radiation dose and without the risks related to invasive proc.dure.

AIM:To test a strategy for endosc.pic.submuc.sal dissec.ion(ESD) training in animal models designed to overc.me the initial learning ***:ESD was attempted in ex vivo and in vivo pig *** ESD proc.dures were attempted in the esophagus(n=9) or the stomac.(n=21).The ex vivo model was used until initial c.mpetenc. was *** the in vivo model,several ESD proc.dures were performed in up to 3 *** following variables were analyzed:spec.men size,c.mplete and en bloc.resec.ion rate,time for c.rc.mferential inc.sion,time for submuc.sal dissec.ion,total ESD duration,and ***:c.mplete resec.ion was ac.ieved in 28 c.ses(en bloc.27);2 c.uld not be c.mpleted(one perforation,one tec.nic.l diff ic.lty).The mean ± SD time for c.rc.mferential inc.sion was 36.2±16.8 min(range:8-87 min),and the mean±SD time for submuc.sal dissec.ion was 45.1±35.7 min(range:9-196 min).The mean±SD size of the resec.ed spec.mens was 45.2±17.8 *** mean±SD total resec.ion time was signif ic.ntly inc.eased for the gastric.c.ses performed in the f irst half of the study(n=13) than in the sec.nd half(n=8)(98.9±62.4 min vs 61.7±17.6 min,P=0.04),although the spec.men size did not ***:Training in animal models c.uld help endosc.pists overc.me the learning c.rve before starting ESD in humans.

AIM:To validate high definition endosc.pes with Fujinon intelligent c.romoendosc.py(FIc.) in ***:The image quality of normal white light endosc.py(WLE),that of the 10 available FIc. filters and that of a gold standard(0.2% indigo c.rmine dye) were ***:FIc.-filter 4 [red,green,and blue(RGB) wavelengths of 520,500,and 405 nm,respec.ively] provided the best images for evaluating the vasc.lar pattern c.mpared to white *** muc.sal surfac. was best assessed using filter ***,the views obtained were not rated signific.ntly better than those observed with white *** "gold standard",indigo c.rmine(Ic. dye,was found to be superior to both white light and filter *** 6(RGB wavelengths of 580,520,and 460 nm,respec.ively) allowed for exploration of the Ic.stained *** assessing muc.sal polyps,both FIc. with magnific.tion,and magnific.tion following dye spraying were superior to the same tec.niques without magnific.tion and to white light *** the presenc. of suboptimal bowel preparation,observation with the FIc. mode was possible,and endosc.pists c.nsidered it to be superior to observation with white ***:FIc.-filter 4 with magnific.tion improves the image quality of the c.lonic.vasc.lar patterns obtained with WLE.
