Recent technical advances in liver imaging and surveillance for patients at high risk for developing hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)have led to an increase in the detection of borderline hepatic nodules in the gray area of multistep carcinogenesis,particularly in those that are hypointense at the hepatobiliary phase(HBP)and do not show arterial phase *** their potential to transform and advance into hypervascular HCC,these nodules have progressively attracted the interest of the scientific *** date,however,no shared guidelines have been established for the decision management of these borderline hepatic *** is therefore extremely important to identify features that indicate the malignant potential of these nodules and the likelihood of *** fact,a more complete knowledge of their history and evolution would allow outlining shared guidelines for their clinical-surgical management,to implement early treatment programs and decide between a preventive curative treatment or a watchful *** review aims to summarize the current knowledge on hepatic borderline nodules,particularly focusing on those imaging features which are hypothetically correlated with their malignant evolution,and to discuss current guidelines and ongoing management in clinical practice.

Aim:The present study evaluated the duration of chemoembolization in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma,analyzing possible factors affecting the procedural ***:In total,175 patients who underwent chemoembolization have been prospectively *** procedural length was considered the time between the insertion and the removal of the angiographic *** features related to the tumor burden and angiographic procedures,which could be related to the procedural time,were ***:The chemoembolization time resulted in a mean of 58.1 *** longer procedural time was associated with a number of nodules treated per patient≥2(P<0.001),a number of segments with nodules≥2(P<0.001),the presence of more than 1 nodule in the same segment(P<0.001),the location of the tumor in the left lobe(P=0.001),the exclusion from the Milan criteria(P<0.001),and a number of segments treated≥2(P<0.001).Only the number of nodules treated per patient resulted significantly in multivariate analysis(OR 2.927,95%CI:2.015-4.251,P<0.001).Conclusion:The factors related to longer procedural time are the number of nodules treated≥2,the number of segments with nodules≥2,the involvement of the left lobe,the tumor burden outside the Milan criteria,and the number of segments treated≥*** these characteristics,known in the pre-procedural phase,represent useful tools for a correct planning of the angiographic room’s workflow during the pandemic era as well as in the future to reduce downtime and increase productivity.

Deep Reinforcement Learning(DRL)-based control shows enhanced performance in the management of integrated energy systems when compared with Rule-Based Controllers(RBCs),but it still lacks scalability and generalisation due to the necessity of using tailored models for the training *** Learning(TL)is a potential solution to address this ***,existing TL applications in building control have been mostly tested among buildings with similar features,not addressing the need to scale up advanced control in real-world scenarios with diverse energy *** paper assesses the performance of an online heterogeneous TL strategy,comparing it with RBC and offline and online DRL controllers in a simulation setup using EnergyPlus and *** study tests the transfer in both transductive and inductive settings of a DRL policy designed to manage a chiller coupled with a Thermal Energy Storage(TES).The control policy is pre-trained on a source building and transferred to various target buildings characterised by an integrated energy system including photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems,different building envelope features,occupancy schedule and boundary conditions(e.g.,weather and price signal).The TL approach incorporates model slicing,imitation learning and fine-tuning to handle diverse state spaces and reward functions between source and target *** show that the proposed methodology leads to a reduction of 10% in electricity cost and between 10% and 40% in the mean value of the daily average temperature violation rate compared to RBC and online DRL ***,online TL maximises self-sufficiency and self-consumption by 9% and 11% with respect to ***,online TL achieves worse performance compared to offline DRL in either transductive or inductive ***,offline Deep Reinforcement Learning(DRL)agents should be trained at least for 15 episodes to reach the same level of performance as the online

The Jurassic is traditionally famous for shallow marine sediments that are often very fossiliferous, notably in Europe, where the standard chronostratigraphic subdivisions were established and defined. However, widespread marginal and non-marine Jurassic sediments are also known, and are of great importance for the wellpreserved terrestrial biotas they contain, as well as for their hydrocarbon and coal reserves. IGCP Project 506 is directed towards finding means of correlation between marine and non-marine Jurassic rocks, as a foundation for a better understanding of the evolution of the Earth during the Jurassic Period.

In this paper,a tool for the detection and diagnosis of anomalous electrical daily energy patterns relative to a transformer substation of a university campus was developed and *** an innovative pattern recognition analysis consisting in a multi-step clustering process,six clusters of anomalous daily load profiles were identified and isolated in two-year historical data of total electrical energy *** infrequent electrical load profiles were found to be strongly affected,in terms of both shape and magnitude,by the energy consumption behaviour related to the heating/cooling mechanical ***,a fault-free predictive model,which uses artificial neural network(ANN)in combination with a Regression Tree,was developed to detect anomalous trends of the electrical energy *** model was able to detect the 93.7%of the anomalous profiles and only the 5%of fault-free days were wrongly predicted as ***,a diagnosis phase was conceived and validated with a testing data set.A number of daily abnormal load profiles were detected and compared with the centroids of the anomalous clusters identified in the pattern-recognition *** work led to the development of a flexible intelligent tool useful for operating a continuous commissioning of the campus facilities.

To the Editor: In the last decade, next-generation sequencing(NGS)-based molecular profiling has shed light on the molecular landscape of biliary tract cancer(BTC), revealing the presence of several potentially actionable mutations [1]. According to Clinical ***, there are at least 40 phase I to IV ongoing trials aimed at evaluating the role of targeted treatments in BTC, as monotherapy or in combination with other anticancer agents [2]. Early encouraging results have been observed with therapies targeting IDH mutations, FGFR fusions, HER family and, more recently, BRAF mutations [3].

This work investigated the application of several fluorescence excitation–emission matrix analysis methods as natural organic matter（NOM） indicators for use in predicting the formation of trihalomethanes（THMs） and haloacetic acids（HAAs）. Waters from four different sources（two rivers and two lakes） were subjected to jar testing followed by 24 hr disinfection by-product formation tests using chlorine. NOM was quantified using three common measures： dissolved organic carbon, ultraviolet absorbance at 254 nm, and specific ultraviolet absorbance as well as by principal component analysis, peak picking,and parallel factor analysis of fluorescence spectra. Based on multi-linear modeling of THMs and HAAs, principle component（PC） scores resulted in the lowest mean squared prediction error of cross-folded test sets（THMs： 43.7（μg/L）^2, HAAs： 233.3（μg/L）^2）. Inclusion of principle components representative of protein-like material significantly decreased prediction error for both THMs and HAAs. Parallel factor analysis did not identify a protein-like component and resulted in prediction errors similar to traditional NOM surrogates as well as fluorescence peak picking. These results support the value of fluorescence excitation–emission matrix–principal component analysis as a suitable NOM indicator in predicting the formation of THMs and HAAs for the water sources studied.

Various resources of the so-called traditional Chinese medicine, such as taijiquan, massage, diets, or acupuncture, have become widely available in the everyday therapeutic culture of contemporary Argentina. While these resources can be found in the first half of the 20th century, it is evident that from the 1960s onward their presence is more evident, with a strong emphasis from the 1980s on. This article aims to describe the reception and popularization of body and therapeutic techniques of traditional Chinese medicine in Argentina in the 1980s through the case of Daniel Alegre, a key figure in the dissemination of Chinese therapeutic techniques. To do so, it focuses on certain key mediators in the popularization of techniques such as taijiquan and Chinese massage: teachers, promoters, and specialized magazines. All these mediators are key artifacts in the processes of massification and dissemination of traditional Chinese medicine in a broader emerging horizon associated with two simultaneous processes, the Chinese cultural transnationalization and the boom of new forms of holistic management of personal well-being.

The complex and mostly multiple and unknown aetiology of neurodegenerative diseases always give way to an intricate scenario of dying tissue that involves multiple cell mediators and cell *** neurodegenerative diseases of the central nervous system(CNS)share common mechanisms,regardless their origin:oxidative stress,neuroinflammation and cell ***,retinal degenerative diseases,with or without a genetic cause,as retinitis pigmentosa(RP),glaucoma,agerelated macular degeneration(AMD)or diabetic retinopathy(DR)do not differ in their basic mechanisms of cell death neither one to another,nor from those observed in other CNS diseases as Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s(Cuenca et al.,2014).Indeed,the therapeutic findings should be able to be more or less easily extrapolated between these conditions,as far as they are directed to common dartboards.
