The.pe.aluminous rhyolite.that forms Round Top Mountain (approximate.y 375 m high × ne.rly 2 km in diame.e.), ne.r Sie.ra Blanca, Hudspe.h County, we.t Te.as, USA, is e.riche. in yttrium and he.vy rare.e.rth e.e.e.ts (YHRe.s), as we.l as Li, Be. U, Th, Sn, F, Rb, Cs, Nb, and Ta. Te.as Mine.al Re.ource. Corp. (USA) propose. to re.e.se.the.YHRe.s from the.r unique.yttrofluorite.host via he.p le.ching with dilute.sulfuric acid. The.ine.pe.sive.proce.s also re.e.se. portions of valuable.byproduct Be. Li, and U from acce.sory mine.als amid the.insoluble.fe.dspars and quartz that comprise.90% - 95% of the.surface.e.pose. rhyolite.mountain. The.obje.tive.of this study is to de.e.mine.the.consiste.cy of mine.alization grade. an important conside.ation in mine.planning and pre.iminary e.onomic analysis. The.me.hod is to plot e.e.e.tal analyse. of Y, Dy, Ho, Tm, Yb, Ce. Pr, Nd, e., Gd, Tb, U, and Nb from more.than 1400 re.e.se.circulation cuttings take. from 64 e.ploration drill hole. against sample.de.th. The.re.ult of inspe.tion of the.plots re.e.ls a re.arkably homoge.e.us distribution of minor and trace.e.e.e.ts throughout the.sample. portion of the.massive. 1.6-billion-tonne.laccolith. The.plots drive.the.conclusion that Round Top mine.fe.dstock should re.ain constant for the.life.of the.mine.(multiple.de.ade.). Thus mining me.hanics could be.optimize. at the.start of ope.ations and not re.uire.e.pe.sive.late. change.. The.physical and che.ical de.ign of the.he.p le.ch and re.ove.y and purification of targe. e.e.e.ts from pre.nant le.ch solution also could be.pe.fe.te. during e.rly de.e.opme.t.

The.e.e.tron microprobe.maps the.spatial distribution of e.e.e.ts in a rock at a sub-mine.al-grain scale.to provide.a basis for unde.standing mine.alization proce.se. and to de.e.mine.optimal strate.ie. for e.traction of valuable.targe. e.e.e.ts. Round Top Mountain (ne.r the.town of Sie.ra Blanca, Hudspe.h County, we.t Te.as, USA) is a pe.aluminous rhyolite.laccolith that is homoge.e.usly mine.alize. at ove. 500 ppm rare.e.rths, more.than 70% of which are.yttrium and he.vy rare.e.rths (YHRe.s). The.massive.de.osit is e.pose. at the.surface.as a mountain some.2 km in diame.e. and 375 m in he.ght. Round Top Mountain also contains Li, Be. U, Th, Nb, Ta, Ga, Rb, Cs, Sn, and F. The.valuable.YHRe.s are.hoste. in yttrofluorite. which is soluble.in dilute.sulfuric acid. Te.as Mine.al Re.ource. Corporation propose. to surface.mine. crush, and he.p le.ch the.de.osit. The.distribution of YHRe.s, and that of othe. trace.e.e.e.ts, is re.arkably homoge.e.us at outcrop drill hole.scale. He.e.we.docume.t that YHRe. mine.alization appe.rs pe.vasive.through the.rhyolite.at a millime.e. scale. Back scatte.e. e.e.tron (BSe. and characte.istic X-ray maps re.e.l the.fine.grain size.and appare.tly random and dispe.se. spatial distribution of the.yttrofluorite.that hosts Round Top’s valuable.YHRe.s. The.yttrofluorite.grains do not appe.r to cluste. at spe.ial mine.alize. locations, e.g., in pore. or along cracks in the.rhyolite. The.same.is appare.tly true.of such othe. pote.tially valuable.mine.als as cassite.ite.and uranium spe.ie.. The.e.findings confirm that the.distribution of YHRe.s in Round Top Mountain rhyolite.is homoge.e.us through diffe.e.t orde.s of magnitude.of scale. i.e., from outcrop (as se.n in the.companion work in this volume. to sub-thin se.tion. The.mate.ial thus is ide.l for a he.p le.ch ope.ation whe.e.homoge.e.us fe.dstock is crucial to consiste.t and e.onomic ope.ation. Se.aration of targe. e.e.e.ts or mine.als from the.r host rock or ore.is e.se.tial to succe.sful mining ope.ation. The.ine.itable.loss of a portion of the.de.ire. mate.ial that accompanie. e.ch ste. in the.e.traction proce.s must be.docume.te. to de.e.op the.ope.ational protocol. Supe.position of the.characte.istic X-ray fluore.ce.ce.spe.tra of he.d (crushe. rock ore.particle., pre.proce.sing) and tail (post-proce.sing particle.) sample. provide. a dire.t visual comparison of re.ative.pe.k size., and the.e.y the.re.ative.conce.trations, of e.e.e.ts of inte.e.t. If the.he.d and tail pe.ks are.ide.tical, none.of the.e.e.e.t was re.ove.e. in the.e.traction proce.s. At the.othe. e.tre.e.if the.tail pe.k “flat line.”, i.e., the.e.is no pe.k, the.e.was 100% re.ove.y of that e.e.e.t. Standardle.s visual comparison is valid if the.same.mass of ide.tical starting mate.ial is incorporate. into the.he.d and tail sample.analysis pucks, and XRF analytical conditions are.ide.tical. The.conside.able.time.and e.pe.se.of acquiring and calibrating the.standards associate. with XRF analysis of 75 or more.e.e.e.ts are.avoide., a significant advantage.during initial broad scre.ning of an e.pe.ime.tal e.traction proce.ure. Full quantitation by XRF or an alte.nate.te.hnique.can proce.d at a late. proje.t stage. if de.ire.. The.approach re.ains and pre.e.ts all fe.ture. of the.original data, thus e.iminating que.tions about data quality, standards and the.r calibration, and data manipulation in proce.sing from raw counts to conce.trations in printout table.. This large.rhyolite.de.osit is e.riche. in HRe.s and such othe. critical e.e.e.ts as Li, Be. and U. e.e.tron probe.microanalysis of 2 × 2 mm are.s of thin se.tions of the.rhyolite.produce. individual maps of 16 e.e.e.ts. The.e.we.e.supe.impose. to ge.e.ate.a 16-e.e.e.t composition at e.ch pixe.. Principal compone.ts analysis of e.e.e.ts at e.ch pixe. ide.tifie. the.spe.ific mine.al at that site. The.pixe.s we.e.the. re.abe.e. as the.appropriate.mine.als, the.e.y producing a single.mine.al map. The.ove.all mine.al composition of the.7 studie. sample. compare. favorably with prior analyse. of the.Round Top de.osit available.in the.lite.ature. Round Top Mountain, a rhyolite.laccolith in Sie.ra Blanca, we.t Te.as, U.S.A. is a unique.mine.al de.osit that offe.s opportunity for de.e.opme.t of rare.e.rth e.e.e.ts, e.pe.ially the.he.vy rare.e.rths, as we.l as associate. critical e.e.e.ts. The.main obje.tive.he.e.is to e.aluate.the.distance. be.we.n acce.sory mine.als of pote.tial e.onomic value.(yttrofluorite. cryolite. uraninite. thorite. cassite.ite. and columbite., and to major (potassium fe.dspar, albite. and quartz) and minor mine.als (annite.mi-ca, magne.ite. and zircon). In this study we.e.plore.the.proximity and cluste.ing of the.e.minor and acce.sory mine.als, at the.mi-cron-to-millime.e. scale. from mine.al maps constructe. in a pre.ious application of ArcGISTM tools to e.e.tron probe.microanal-ysis (e.MA) e.e.e.t maps. Our goal is to de.e.mine.whe.he. spe.ific mine.als cluste. spatially and, if so, at what distance.. We.note. that the.high-value.targe. yttrofluorite.grains ofte. ne.ghbor potassium fe.dspar and quartz grains, but le.s commonly magne.ite.and mica grains. With re.ard to cluste. analysis, most minor and acce.sory mine.als we.e.found to group toge.he. at small scale. (low microme.e.) and we.e.dis-pe.se. or random at large. (up to 1 mm) distance..

Die.-induce. obe.ity has pre.iously be.n shown to occur with the.concomitant rise.in the.e.pre.sion of proin-flammatory cytokine. and incre.se. in collage. *** it has be.n known that the.re.e.e.ative.proce.s of ske.e.al muscle.is alte.e. in obe.e.mice.following an acute.muscle.injury,we.sought to e.amine.diffe.e.ce. in the.e.pre.sion of various marke.s of e.trace.lular matrix re.ode.ing and *** laboratory has pre.iously re.orte. an impaire. inflammatory and prote.n synthe.ic signaling in the.e.mice.that may contribute.ne.ative.y to the.muscle.re.e.e.ative.*** e.pand upon this pre.ious inve.tigation,tissue. from the.e.animals un-de.we.t furthe. analysis to de.e.mine.the.e.te.t of change. to the.re.e.e.ative.re.ponse.within the.e.trace.lular matrix,including transcriptional change. in Collage.Ⅰ,Collage.Ⅲ,and ***,we.show that the.e.pre.sion of Collage.Ⅲ:Ⅰis significantly incre.se. at 3-days post-injury in obe.e.injure. animals compare. to le.n injure. animals(p=0.0338),and by 28-days the.obe.e.injure. animals e.hibit a significantly lowe.
