Suitability of S-Glass/carbon fiber reinforced polymer composite for submarine hull subjected to hydrostatic pressure has been investigated in the present *** materials have raised concerns owing to their decomposition due to low resistance towards salinity and hence polymer composites have been explored to showcase their mechanic.l stability to withstand transverse and impact *** this end,the mechanic.l properties of S-Glass/carbon fiber reinforced polymer composite were experimentally investigated and higher specific strength and stiffness of the composite in comparison to many metallic materials used for submarine hull were *** obtained experimental values were used for the static and dynamic crash analysis of the bow,stern and foil through Finite Element Analysis(FEA);where depth of travel was varied from sea surface level of 0-7000 *** assembly was later developed with the optimum shape and thickness of each *** also report the nonlinear crash analysis upon impact at velocity ranging from 3 to 21 m/***,kinetic energy,acceleration peak and internal energy in struck submarine revealed that travel depth 1750 m and 3500 m is recommendable,more particularly,crash safety factor of the submarine is found to be within limit when submarine encounters crash at 1750 m.

Stable Quantum Filters with Scattering Phenomena

Quantum neural network filters for signal processing have received a lot of interest in the recent past. The implementations of these filters had a number of design parameters that led to numerical inefficiencies. At the same time the solution procedures employed were explicit in that the evolution of the time-varying functions had to be controlled. This often led to numerical instabilities. This paper outlines a procedure for improving the stability, numerical efficiency, and the accuracy of quantum neural network filters. Two examples are used to illustrate the principles employed.

The paper presents an overview of studies of slamming on ship structures. This work focuses on the hull slamming, which is one of the most important types of slamming problems to be considered in the ship design process and the assessment of the ship safety. There are three main research aspects related to the hull slamming phenomenon, a) where and how often a slamming event occurs, b) slamming load prediction and c) structural response due to slamming loads. The approaches used in each aspect are reviewed and commented, together with the presentation of some typical results. The methodology, which combines the seakeeping analysis and slamming load prediction, is discussed for the global analysis of the hull slamming of a ship in waves. Some physical phenomena during the slamming event are discussed also. Recommendations for the future research and developments are made.

Molecular cloning and comparative analysis of transcripts encoding chemosensory proteins from two plant bugs, Lygus lineolaris and Lygus hesperus

chemosensory proteins(cSPs)are soluble carrier proteins typically characterized by a six‐helix bundle structure joined by two disulfide bridges and a conserved cys spacing pattern(c1‐X6‐8‐c2‐X16‐21‐c3‐X2‐c4).cSPs are functionally diverse with reported roles in chemosensation,immunity,development,and *** expand our molecular understanding of cSP function in plant bugs,we used recently developed transcriptomic resources for Lygus lineolaris and Lygus hesperus to identify 17 and 14 cSP‐like sequences,*** Lygus cSPs are orthologous and share significant sequence identity with previously annotated *** of the cSPs are predicted to deviate from the typical cSP structure with either five or seven helical segments rather than *** seven helix cSP is further differentiated by an atypical c3‐X3‐c4 cys spacing *** transcriptase PcR‐based profiling of cSP transcript abundance in adult *** tissues revealed broad expression for most of the cSPs with antenna specific expression limited to a subset of the *** sequence analyses and homology modeling suggest that variations in the amino acids that comprise the Lygus cSP binding pockets affect the size and nature of the ligands accommodated.
