Failure mechanism and influencing factors of cement sheath integrity under alternating pressure

The failure of cement sheath integrity can be easily caused by alternating pressure during large-scale multistage hydraulic fracturing in shale-gas *** elastic-plastic mechanical model of casing-cement sheath-formation(CSF)system under alternating pressure is established based on the Mohr-Coulomb criterion and thick-walled cylinder theory,and it has been solved by MATLAB programming combining global optimization algorithm with Global *** failure mechanism of cement sheath integrity is investigated,by which it can be seen that the formation of interface debonding is mainly related to the plastic strain accumulation,and there is a risk of interface debonding under alternating pressure,once the cement sheath enters plasticity whether in shallow or deep well *** matching relationship between the mechanical parameters(elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio)of cement sheath and its integrity failure under alternating pressure in whole well sections is studied,by which it has been found there is a“critical range”in the Poisson's ratio of cement *** the Poisson's ratio is below the“critical range”,there is a positive correlation between the yield internal pressure of cement sheath(SYP)and its elastic ***,when the Poisson's ratio is above the“critical range”,there is a negative *** elastic modulus of cement sheath is closely related to its Poisson's ratio,and restricts each *** and reasonable matching between mechanical parameters of cement sheath and CSF system under different working conditions can not only reduce the cost,but also protect the cement sheath integrity.

Track-before-detect for bistatic radar based on pseudo-spectrum

Track-Before-Detect(TBD) is an efficient method to detect dim targets for radars. Conventional TBD usually follows an approximate motion model of the target, which may cause an inaccurate integration of the target energy. A TBD technique on basis of pseudo-spectrum in mixed coordinates adopting an accurate motion model for bistatic radar system is developed in this *** predicted position in bistatic polar plane is derived according to a nonlinear function that exactly describes the constant Cartesian velocity motion. Then around the predicted position, a pseudo-spectrum is formulated and its samples are accumulated to the integration frame for energy integration. The evolution of the state and the procedure of accumulation of the target energy are derived elaborately. The superior performance of the proposed method is demonstrated by some simulations.

The precise detection and segmentation of tumor lesions are very important for lung cancer computer-aided ***,in PET/CT(Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography)lung images,the lesion shapes are complex,the edges are blurred,and the sample numbers are *** solve these problems,this paper proposes a Multi-branch Cross-scale Interactive Feature fusion Transformer model(MCIF-Transformer Mask RCNN)for PET/CT lung tumor instance segmentation,The main innovative works of this paper are as follows:Firstly,the ResNet-Transformer backbone network is used to extract global feature and local feature in lung *** pixel dependence relationship is established in local and non-local fields to improve the model perception ***,the Cross-scale Interactive Feature Enhancement auxiliary network is designed to provide the shallow features to the deep features,and the cross-scale interactive feature enhancement module(CIFEM)is used to enhance the attention ability of the fine-grained ***,the Cross-scale Interactive Feature fusion FPN network(CIF-FPN)is constructed to realize bidirectional interactive fusion between deep features and shallow features,and the low-level features are enhanced in deep semantic ***,4 ablation experiments,3 comparison experiments of detection,3 comparison experiments of segmentation and 6 comparison experiments with two-stage and single-stage instance segmentation networks are done on PET/CT lung medical image *** results showed that APdet,APseg,ARdet and ARseg indexes are improved by 5.5%,5.15%,3.11%and 6.79%compared with Mask RCNN(resnet50).Based on the above research,the precise detection and segmentation of the lesion region are realized in this *** method has positive significance for the detection of lung tumors.

The positive definiteness of real quadratic forms with convolution structures plays an important rolein stability analysis for time-stepping schemes for nonlocal operators. In this work, we present a novel analysistool to handle discrete convolution kernels resulting from variable-step approximations for convolution *** precisely, for a class of discrete convolution kernels relevant to variable-step L1-type time discretizations, weshow that the associated quadratic form is positive definite under some easy-to-check algebraic conditions. Ourproof is based on an elementary constructing strategy by using the properties of discrete orthogonal convolutionkernels and discrete complementary convolution kernels. To our knowledge, this is the first general result onsimple algebraic conditions for the positive definiteness of variable-step discrete convolution kernels. Using theunified theory, we obtain the stability for some simple nonuniform time-stepping schemes straightforwardly.

Revealing the role of calcium ion intercalation of hydrated vanadium oxides for aqueous zinc-ion batteries

Exploring suitable high-capacity V_(2)O_(5)-based cathode materials is essential for the rapid advancement of aqueous zinc ion batteries(ZIBs).However,the typical problem of slow Zn^(2+)diffusion kinetics has severely limited the feasibility of such *** this work,unique hydrated vanadates(CaVO,BaVO)were obtained by intercalation of Ca^(2+)or Ba^(2+)into hydrated vanadium *** the CaVO//Zn and BaVO//Zn batteries systems,the former delivered up to a 489.8 mAh g^(-1)discharge specific capacity at 0.1 A g^(-1).Moreover,the remarkable energy density of 370.07 Wh kg^(-1)and favorable cycling stability yard outperform BaVO,pure V_(2)O_(5),and many reported cathodes of similar ionic intercalation *** addition,pseudocapacitance analysis,galvanostatic intermittent titration(GITT)tests,and Trasatti analysis revealed the high capacitance contribution and Zn^(2+)diffusion coefficient of CaVO,while an in-depth investigation based on EIS elucidated the reasons for the better electrochemical performance of ***,ex-situ XRD,XPS,and TEM tests further demonstrated the Zn^(2+)insertion/extraction and Zn-storage mechanism that occurred during the cycle in the CaVO//Zn battery *** work provides new insights into the intercalation of similar divalent cations in vanadium oxides and offers new solutions for designing cathodes for high-capacity aqueous ZIBs.

Mechanism analysis of foam penetration in EPB shield tunnelling with a focus on FER and soil particle size

Parameters of foam penetration in earth pressure balance(EPB)shield tunnelling,such as permeability coefficients and penetration distances,significantly impact tunnel face ***,existing studies have faced inaccuracies in analysing these parameters due to imitations in experimental *** study addresses this issue by employing enhanced methods for a more precise analysis of foam *** involving three distinct sand types(coarse,medium,and fine)and three foam expansion ratios(FER)(10,15,and 20)are conducted using a modified model test *** from a novel computer vision-based method,the model test outcomes unveil two distinct foam penetration paths:liquid migration(L_(w))and bubble migration(L_(f)).Three penetration phases-namely,injection,blockage&drainage,and breakage—are identified based on L_(w)and L_(f)*** initial"injection"phase conforms to Darcy’s law and is amenable to mathematical *** foam with FER of 15 has the maximum viscosity and,hence the L_(f)and permeability in the penetration tests with FER of 15 are the lowest in the same *** bubble size distribution of foam with different FER shows minor ***,the characteristics of foam penetration vary due to the distinct particle size distribution(PSD)of different *** penetration creates low-permeability layers in both medium and fine sands due to the larger bubble size of the foam compared to the estimated pore sizes of medium and fine *** the coarse sand results in a different situation due to its large pore *** distinctive characteristics of foam penetration in different sand strata are notably shaped by FER,PSD,and pore size *** insights shed light on the complex interactions during foam penetration at the tunnel face,contributing valuable knowledge to EPB shield tunnelling practices.

Process-driven susceptibility assessment of glacial lake outburst debris flow in the Himalayas under climate change

Global warming is causing glaciers to retreat and glacial lakes to expand in the Himalayas,which amplifies the risk of glacial lake outburst debris flows(GLODFs)and poses a significant threat to downstream lives and ***,the complex interplay between GLODF occurrences and associated indicators,coupled with the lack of a comprehensive susceptibility indicator system that considers the entire GLODF process,presents a substantial challenge in assessing GLODF susceptibility in the *** study proposes a process-driven GLODF susceptibility assessment indicator system responding to climate change that considers the complete process of GLODF formation,incorporating relevant parameters about upstream,themselves,and downstream of glacial ***,to mitigate subjective factors associated with traditional evaluation methods,we developed three novel hybrid machine-learning models by integrating classic machine-learning algorithms with the whale optimization algorithm(WOA)to delineate the distribution of GLODF susceptibility in the *** the hybrid models effectively predicted the GLODFs occurrence,with the WOA-SVC model demonstrating the highest prediction *** 34%of the catchments exhibit high and very high susceptibility levels,primarily concentrated along the north and south sides of the Himalayan ridge,particularly in the eastern and central *** capturing the physical formation process of hazards,such as topographic potential(highest relative importance value of 40%),can precisely identify GLODF.A total of 128 catchments pose potential transboundary threats,with 24 classified as having a very high susceptibility level and 25 as having a high susceptibility ***,the border region between China and Nepal is a prominent hotspot for transboundary threats of *** findings can provide valuable clues for disaster prevention,mitigation,and cross-border coordination in the Himalayas.

Historical biogeography and evolutionary diversification of Lilium(Liliaceae): New insights from plastome phylogenomics

Here, we infer the historical biogeography and evolutionary diversification of the genus Lilium. For this purpose, we used the complete plastomes of 64 currently accepted species in the genus Lilium(14plastomes were newly sequenced) to recover the phylogenetic backbone of the genus and a timecalibrated phylogenetic framework to estimate biogeographical history scenarios and evolutionary diversification rates of Lilium. Our results suggest that ancient climatic changes and geological tectonic activities jointly shaped the distribution range and drove evolutionary radiation of Lilium, including the Middle Miocene Climate Optimum(MMCO), the late Miocene global cooling, as well as the successive uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(QTP) and the strengthening of the monsoon climate in East Asia during the late Miocene and the Pliocene. This case study suggests that the unique geological and climatic events in the Neogene of East Asia, in particular the uplift of QTP and the enhancement of monsoonal climate, may have played an essential role in formation of uneven distribution of plant diversity in the Northern Hemisphere.

Game-theoretical Model for Dynamic Defense Resource Allocation in Cyber-physical Power Systems Under Distributed Denial of Service Attacks

Electric power grids are evolving into complex cyber-physical power systems(CPPSs)that integrate advanced information and communication technologies(ICTs)but face increasing cyberspace threats and *** study considers CPPS cyberspace security under distributed denial of service(DDoS)attacks and proposes a nonzero-sum game-theoretical model with incomplete information for appropriate allocation of defense resources based on the availability of limited *** time delay is applied to quantify the expected utility as CPPSs have high time requirements and incur massive damage DDoS *** resource allocation strategies are adopted by attackers and defenders under the three cases of attack-free,failed attack,and successful attack,which lead to a corresponding consumption of resources.A multidimensional node value analysis is designed to introduce physical and cybersecurity *** experiments and numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model for the appropriate allocation of defense resources in CPPSs under limited resource availability.
