Environmental factors such as diet and lifestyle can influence the health of both mothers and ***,its transgenerational transmission and underlying mechanisms remain largely ***,using a maternal lactation-period low-protein diet(LPD)mouse model,we show that maternal LPD during lactation causes decreased survival and stunted growth,significantly reduces ovulation and litter size,and alters the gut microbiome in the female LPD-F1 *** transcriptome of LPD-F1 metaphase II(MII)oocytes shows that differentially expressed genes are enriched in female pregnancy and multiple metabolic ***,maternal LPD causes early stunted growth and impairs metabolic health,which is transmitted over two *** methylome alteration of LPD-F1 oocytes can be partly transmitted to the F2 ***,our results reveal that LPD during lactation transgenerationally affects offspring health,probably via oocyte epigenetic changes.

Objective:To investigate whether the combination of chemotherapy with staged Chinese herbal medicine(CHM) therapy could enhance health-related quality of life(QoL) in non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients and prolong the time before deterioration of lung cancer symptoms,in comparison to chemotherapy ***:A prospective,double-blind,randomized,controlled trial was conducted from December 14,2017 to August 28,2020.A total of 180 patients with stage ⅠB-ⅢA NSCLC from 5 hospitals in Shanghai were randomly divided into chemotherapy combined with CHM(chemo+CHM) group(120 cases) or chemotherapy combined with placebo(chemo+placebo) group(60 cases) using stratified blocking *** European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer(EORTC) Quality-of-Life-Core 30 Scale(QLQ-C30) was used to evaluate the patient-reported outcomes(PROs) during postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with early-stage *** events(AEs) were assessed in the safety ***:Out of the total 180 patients,173 patients(116in the chemo+CHM group and 57 in the chemo+placebo group) were included in the PRO *** initial mean QLQ-C30 Global Health Status(GHS)/QoL scores at baseline were 57.16±1.64 and 57.67±2.25 for the two respective groups(P>0.05).Compared with baseline,the chemo+CHM group had an improvement in QLQ-C30GHS/QoL score at week 18 [least squares mean(LSM) change 17.83,95% confidence interval(CI) 14.29 to 21.38].Conversely,the chemo+placebo group had a decrease in the score(LSM change-13.67,95% CI-22.70 to-4.63).A significant between-group difference in the LSM GHS/QoL score was observed,amounting to 31.63 points(95% CI25.61 to 37.64,Pning,fatigue and appetite *** week 18,patients in the chemo+CHM group had a higher proportion of improvement or stabilization in GHS/QoL functional and symptom scores compared to chemo+placebo group(P<0.001).The median time to deterioration

A theoretical model is developed for the vibration and stability of a vertical pipe subjected concurrently to two dependent axial flows. The external fluid, after exiting the outer annular region between the pipe and a rigid cylindrical channel, is conveyed upwards inside the pipe. This configuration thus resembles of a pipe that aspirating fluid. The equation of planar mo- tion is solved by means of the differential quadrature method （DQM）. Calculations are conducted for a slender drill-string-like and a bench-top-size system, for different confinement conditions of the outer annular channel. It is shown that the vibrations of these two systems are closely related to the degree of confinement of the outer annular channel. For a drill-string-like system with narrow annuli, buckling instability may occur in the second and third modes. For a bench-top-size system, however, both buckling and flutter may occur in the lowest three modes. The form of instability depends on the annuli size.

The nonlinear responses of planar motions of a fluid-conveying pipe embedded in nonlinear elastic foundations are investigated via the differential quadrature method discretization （DQMD） of the governing partial differential equation. For the analytical model, the effect of the nonlinear elastic foundation is modeled by a nonlinear restraining force. By using an iterative algorithm, a set of ordinary differential dynamical equations derived from the equation of motion of the system are solved numerically and then the bifurcations are analyzed. The numerical results, in which the existence of chaos is demonstrated, are presented in the form of phase portraits of the oscillations. The intermittency transition to chaos has been found to arise.

In this paper, the nonlinear dynamical behavior of two coupled pipes conveying pulsating fluid is studied. The connection between the two pipes is considered as a distributed linear spring. Based on this consideration, the equations of motion of the coupled two-pipe system are obtained. The two coupled nonlinear partial differential equations, discretized using the fourth- order Galerkin method, are solved by a fourth-order Runge-Kutta integration algorithm. Results show that the connection stiffness has a significant effect on the dynamical behavior of the coupled system. It is found that for some parameter values the motion types of the two pipes might be synchronous.

Objective To screen the antimalarial compounds of daphnetin derivatives against Plasmodium falciparum in vitro. Method Plasmodium faciparum （FCC1） was cultured in vitro by a modified method of Trager and Jensen. Antimalarial compounds were screened by microscopy-based assay and microfluorimetric method. Results DA79 and DA78 showed potent antimalarial activity against Plasmodiumfalciparum cultured in vitro. Conclusion Though the relationship between the structures of daphnetin derivatives and their antimalarial activities has not been clarified yet, this study may provide a new direction for discovery of more potential antimalarial compounds.

The stability and dynamical behavior of flexible and articulated rigid pipes conveying fluid have attracted the attention of many researchers in the field of fluid-structure *** system of an articulated pipe composed of a flexible pipe and a rigid pipe is a class of hybrid flexible-rigid dynamical problems involving flow-induced *** paper establishes the governing equations of motion of a hybrid flexible-rigid pipe system based on Hamilton's principle,with the rigid pipe being hinged to the lower end of a flexible cantilevered pipe via a rotational *** coupling equations of motion are discretized via a Galerkin's *** mathematical model is validated by comparing the eigenvalue branches of a degenerated system by choosing extreme values of the parameters of the hybrid pipe with previous *** the theoretical analysis,the critical flow velocities are calculated as a function of the stiffness of the rotational spring,mass ratio and length ratio of the rigid and flexible *** unstable modes are detected from the eigenvalue branches and compared with those of a flexible cantilevered *** results show that the critical flow velocity is greatly influenced by several structural *** is found that a small stiffness of the rotational spring tends to predict higher-mode instability,whereas a large rotational spring stiffness would generate a second-mode instability in most *** several system parameter spaces,the hybrid pipe may experience a transference of unstable modes with the increase of flow *** is also shown that the hybrid pipe system may lose stability first in the fourth mode in some *** of the fresh results obtained for the hybrid pipe system are expected to be helpful in understanding and controlling the dynamical responses of hybrid flexible-rigid fluid-conveying pipes.
