Environmental pollution,such as water contamination,is a critical issue that must be absolutely ***,three different morphologies of tungsten-based photocatalysts(WO_(3)nanorods,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanobricks,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods)are made using a simple hydrothermal method by changing the solvents(H_(2)O,DMF,aqueous HCl solution).The as-prepared nanocatalysts have excellent thermal stability,large porosity,and high *** results show all materials have good photocatalytic activity in aqueous media,with WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods(NRs)having the best activity in the photodegradation of bisphenol A(BPA)under visible-light *** may originate from increased migration of charge carriers and effective prevention of electron–hole recombination in WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs,whereby this photocatalyst is able to generate more reactive·OH and·O_(2)^(–)species,leading to greater photocatalytic *** 99.6% of BPA is photodegraded within 60 min when using 1.5 g/L WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs and 5.0 mg/L BPA at pH ***,the optimal conditions(pH,catalyst dosage,initial BPA concentration)for WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs are also elaborately *** rod-like heterostructures are expressed as potential catalysts with excellent photostability,efficient reusability,and highly active effectivity in different types of *** particular,the removal efficiency of BPA by WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs reduces by only 1.5% after five recycling runs and even reaches 89.1%in contaminated lake *** study provides promising insights for the nearly complete removal of BPA from wastewater or different water resources,which is advantageous to various applications in environmental remediation.

Application of Bidirectional Power Converters to Overcome Some Disadvantages of SVC Substation

When the authors research on the fact that some SVC (static var compensator) substations connected at some buses in power system, they realized that some main functions ensured to operate well. Those are: compensate reactive power following value U* according to the requirements of the Vietnamese power system dispath center, filt harmonic by passive filter... However, it still has some disadvantages of this substation that need to be overcome: use large number of main devices, generate harmonics by itself, cause a lot of active power losses. Thus, the authors have an idea to solve these problems by applying a bidirectional power converter with having difference circuit structure and PWM (pulse width modulation) controller with SVM (space vector modulation) pulse generated section, so compensative current which is created by inductance element can be reserved, adjust continuos and always has full sinusoidal form, not generating harmonic. The benefit of this new solution is to eliminate the three above fundamental disadvantages. This new model is built based on authors" research about BESS (battery energy storage system). The research results have been verified by simulations in Matlab/Simulink software.

Crack identification in functionally graded material framed structures using stationary wavelet transform and neural network

In this paper,an integrated procedure is proposed to identify cracks in a portal framed structure made of functionally graded material(FGM)using stationary wavelet transform(SWT)and neural network(NN).Material properties of the structure vary along the thickness of beam elements by the power law of volumn *** are assumed to be open and are modeled by double massless springs with stiffness calculated from their *** dynamic stiffness method(DSM)is developed to calculate the mode shapes of a cracked frame structure based on shape functions obtained as a general solution of vibration in multiple cracked FGM Timoshenko *** SWT of mode shapes is examined for localization of potential cracks in the frame structure and utilized as the input data of NN for crack depth *** integrated procedure proposed is shown to be very effective for accurately assessing crack locations and depths in FGM structures,even with noisy measured mode shapes and a limited amount of measured data.

Water level predictions in the river,lake and delta play an important role in flood *** year Mekong River delta of Vietnam is experiencing flood due to heavy monsoon rains and high *** subsidence may also aggravate flooding problems in this ***,accurate predictions of water levels in this region are very important to forewarn the people and authorities for taking timely adequate remedial measures to prevent losses of life and *** are so many methods available to predict the water levels based on historical data but nowadays Machine learning(ML)methods are considered the best tool for accurate *** this study,we have used surface water level data of 18 water level measurement stations of the Mekong River delta from 2000 to 2018 to build novel time-series Bagging based hybrid ML models namely:Bagging(RF),Bagging(SOM)and Bagging(M5P)to predict historical water levels in the study *** of the Bagging-based hybrid models were compared with Reduced Error Pruning Trees(REPT),which is a benchmark ML *** data of 19 years period was divided into 70:30 ratio for the *** data of the period 1/2000 to 5/2013(which is about 70%of total data)was used for the training and for the period 5/2013 to 12/2018(which is about 30%of total data)was used for testing(validating)the *** of the models was evaluated using standard statistical measures:Coefficient of Determination(R2),Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and Mean Absolute Error(MAE).Results show that the performance of all the developed models is good(R2>0.9)for the prediction of water levels in the study ***,the Bagging-based hybrid models are slightly better than another model such as ***,these Bagging-based hybrid time series models can be used for predicting water levels at Mekong data.

Structural and luminescent properties of (Eu,Tb) PO_4·H_2O nanorods/nanowires prepared by microwave technique

Nanowires/nanorods of europium/terbium orthophosphate monohydrate with Eu^3＋ concentration of 6, 11, and 20 at.% were prepared by microwave synthesis method. The effects of Eu^3＋ doping concentration on structure, morphology and optical properties of nanomaterials were also investigated. The results showed that, for all studied Eu^3＋ doping concentrations, a single-crystalline phase of rhabdophane-type （Eu,Tb）PO4·H2O nanowires/nanorods was obtained by using microwave heating of an aqueous solution of terbium（Ⅲ） nitrate, europium（Ⅲ） nitrate and NH4H2PO4 with pH=2. The length and width of these nanowires/nanorods ranged from 150 to 300 nm and from 10 to 50 nm, respectively. The evidence of energy transfer from Tb^3＋ to Eu^3＋ due to the energy overlap between the donor Tb^3＋ and the acceptor Eu^3＋was observed obviously via a significant enhancement in the luminescent intensity of Eu^3＋.
