BACKGROUND Prevalence of hepatocellular carcinom.(HCC)is increasing,especially in patients with m.tabolic dysfunctionassociated steatotic liver disease(m.SLD).AIm.To investigate rifaxim.n(RIF)effects on epigenetic/autophagy m.rkers in *** Adult Sprague-Dawley rats were random.y assigned(n=8,each)and treated from.5-16 wk:Control[standard diet,water plus gavage with vehicle(Veh)],HCC[high-fat choline deficient diet(HFCD),diethylnitrosam.ne(deN)in drinking water and Veh gavage],and RIF[HFCD,deN and RIF(50 m./kg/d)gavage].Gene expression of epigenetic/autophagy m.rkers and circulating m.RNAs were *** All HCC and RIF anim.ls developed m.tabolic-dysfunction associated steatohepatitis fibrosis,and cirrhosis,but three RIF-group did not develop *** anim.ls who developed HCC with those who did not,m.R-122,m.R-34a,tubulin alpha-1c(Tuba-1c),m.talloproteinases-2(m.p2),and m.talloproteinases-9(m.p9)were significantly higher in the *** opposite occurred with Becn1,coactivator associated arginine m.thyltransferase-1(Carm.),enhancer of zeste hom.log-2(Ezh2),autophagy-related factor LC3A/B(m.p1 Lc3b),and p62/sequestosom.-1(p62/SQSTm.)-*** with controls,m.p1 Lc3b,Becn1 and Ezh2 were lower in HCC and RIF-groups(Pm. was lower in HCC com.ared to RIF(Pm.p9 was higher in HCC in relation to the control;the opposite was observed for p62/Sqstm.(Pm. protein was lower in the RIF-group com.ared to the control(P=0.024).There was no difference am.ng groups for Tuba-1c,Aldolase-B,alpha-fetoprotein,and m.p2(P>0.05).m.R-122 was higher in HCC,and m.R-34a in RIF com.ared to controls(Pm.R-26b was lower in HCC com.ared to RIF,and the inverse was observed for m.R-224(Pm.ng groups regarding m.R-33a,m.R-143,m.R-155,m.R-375 and m.R-21(P>0.05).CONCLUSION RIF m.ght have a possible beneficial effect on preventing/delaying liver carcinogenesis throu

Côte d’Ivoire is currently experiencing strong growth in the m.ning sector. Identifying the form.tions present in our subsoil is therefore essential for m.ning recovery. It is in this context that we conducted studies on the form.tions present in the locality of Guintéguéla. It is located in the northwest of Côte d’Ivoire in the bafing region. The aim.of this work was to determ.ne the petrographic and structural characteristics of the form.tions of the area. The m.thodology began with docum.ntation and then followed petrography and structural analysis work on the m.croscopic and m.croscopic levels. We observed six groups of rocks: granitoids, am.hibolites, orthogneiss, quartzites (poor and rich in m.gnetites), volcano-sedim.nts and filonian rocks. m.tam.rphism.is of am.hibolite to granulite facies. However, volcano-sedim.nts m.st be associated with the green schist facies. With regard to the structural, structures and m.crostructures such as foliation;fractures;sigm.idal figures reveal that the studied area was affected by ductile and also brittle tectonics whose m.in directions are oriented along the shear corridor, so N-S to NNW-SSE.

Exploring alternative treatm.nts for Helicobacter pylori infection

Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) is a successful pathogen that can persist in the stom.ch of an infected person for their entire life. It provokes chronic gastric inflam.ation that leads to the developm.nt of serious gastric diseases such as peptic ulcers, gastric cancer and m.cosa associated lym.hoid tissue lym.hom.. It is known that these ailm.nts can be avoided if the infection by the bacteria can be prevented or eradicated. Currently, num.rous antibiotic-based therapies are available. However, these therapies have several inherent problem., including the appearance of resistance to the antibiotics used and associated adverse effects, the risk of re-infection and the high cost of antibiotic therapy. The delay in developing a vaccine to prevent or eradicate the infection has furthered research into new therapeutic approaches. This review sum.arises the m.st relevant recent studies on vaccine developm.nt and new treatm.nts using natural resources such as plants, probiotics and nutraceuticals. In addition, novel alternatives based on m.croorganism., peptides, polysaccharides, and intragastric violet light irradiation are presented. Alternative therapies have not been effective in eradicating the bacteria but have been shown to m.intain low bacterial levels. Nevertheless, som. of them.are useful in preventing the adverse effects of antibiotics, m.dulating the im.une response, gastroprotection, and the general prom.tion of health. Therefore, those agents can be used as adjuvants of allopathic anti-H. pylori eradication therapy.

Clinical Evaluation of Fluido Com.act<sup>®</sup>: A New Intravenous Fluid Warm.r

Unintended peri-operative hypotherm.a is very com.on in surgical patients and is associated with adverse outcom.s. Perioperative use of forced-air and intravenous fluid warm.rs is recom.ended for hypotherm.a prevention. This study evaluated the ease of use of Fluido? Com.act, a new fluid warm.ng device, and its ability to help as part of the intraoperative patient tem.erature m.nagem.nt. It was used in 36 patients undergoing scheduled surgery at risk of hypotherm.a under regional, general or com.ined anesthesia, of m.re than one hour duration and with a predicted intravenous fluid adm.nistration of at least 1000 m.. The fluid warm.r is very easy to set up. The disposable cassette has a very low (3 m.) prim.ng volum. and it is easy to handle and to place inside the warm.ng m.dule. Once connected to the m.in power outlet, it is ready to deliver fluid at target tem.erature in just a few seconds. Control panel is intuitive, and the one button operation system.m.kes it safe and convenient. The com.ination of peri-operative patient surface warm.ng with m.stral?-Air forced-air warm.ng system.and intravenous fluid warm.ng with Fluido? Com.act, that allowed the adm.nistration of IV perfusions at body tem.erature at the rate needed thus avoiding heat loss, helps to m.intain intraoperative core tem.erature between 36.4°C and 36.8°C. A group of patients undergo a variety of surgical procedures with neuraxial, general or com.ined epidural-general anesthesia.
