Mallory-Denk Bodies(MDB) are important as investigators,suggesting MDB as an indicator of the histologic severity of chronic hepatitis,causes of which include hepatitis C,primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC),and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Matteoni et al scored MDB in patients with NAFLD as none,rare and many,and reported that MDB plays a prominent role in this classification scheme in an earlier classification *** this study,we evaluated 258 patients with chronic hepatitis due to metabolic,autoimmune and viral *** biopsy samples were evaluated with hematoxylin and eosin,periodic acid-Schiff-diastase,gordon and Sweet's reticulin,Masson's trichrome,and iron *** staging and grading were ***,MDB were evaluated and discussed for each *** examined patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH;50 patients),alcoholic hepatitis(10 patients),PBC(50 patients),Wilson disease(WD;20 patients),hepatitis B(50 patients),hepatitis C(50 pati-ents) and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC;30 patients).Frequency of MDB was as follows;NASH:10 patients with mild in 60% and moderate in 40% and observed in every stage of the disease and frequently seen in zone ***:11 patients with mild in 10%,moderate in 70%,and cirrhosis in 20%,and frequently seen in zone ***:16 patients with moderate and severe in 60% and cirrhosis in 40% and frequently seen in zone *** B:3 patients with mild in 66% and severe in 34%.Hep C:7 patients with mild in 40% and moderate in 60% and observed in every ***:3 patients with hep B in 2 *** found that there is no relationship between MDB and any form of chronic hepatitis regarding histologic severity such as alcoholic steatohepatitis and NAFLD and variable zone distribution by etiology.

AIM： To investigate the relationship between myeloperoxidase polymorphisms as a host-related factor and atrophy caused by H pylori. METHODS： Our study enrolled 77 patients. Biopsy materials obtained during gastrointestinal endoscopies were evaluated for the presence of H pylori. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism assay was used to characterize myeloperoxidase genothpes. RESULTS： Forty four patients （57.1%） were lip （＋） and 33 （42.9%） were Hp （-）. Sixty six （85.7%） had gg genotype, 10 （12.9%） had gA genotype and 1 （1.29%） had AA genotype. The change in atrophy in relation to neutrophil infiltration was significant in Hp （＋） patients （P = 0.0001）. The change in atrophy in relation to neutrophil infiltration in patients with gg genotype was significant （P = 0.002）. However, the change in atrophy in relation to neutrophil infiltration was not significiant in patients with Hp （＋） gg genotype （r = 0.066, P = 0.63）. CONCLUSION： Myeloperoxidase genotype is critical for development of atrophy in relation to the severity of inflammation. However, it is interesting to note that, H pylori does not show any additive effect on development of atrophy.

An innovative and efficient design of solar receivers/reactors can enhance the production of clean fuels via concentrated solar energy. This study presents a new jet-type burner nozzle for gaseous feedstock injection into a cavity solar receiver inspired from the combustion technology. The nozzle design was adapted from a combustion burner and successfully implemented into a solar receiver and studied the influence of the nozzle design on the fluid mixing and temperature distribution inside the solar receiver using a 7 kW solar simulator and nitrogen as working fluid. Finally, a thorough computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis was performed and validated against the experimental results. The CFD results showed a variation of the gas flow pattern and gas mixing after the burner nozzle adaptation, which resulted an intense effect on the heat transfer inside the solar receiver.

Nowadays, one of the most important effects on water resources under climate change is increasing of free water surface evaporation which depends on the increasing of temperature. In basins, where there are no observed data, free water surface evaporation is taken into account depending on historical temperature and similar data and their long-term statistics. Predicting of real value of evaporation contains some uncertainties. The modeling of evaporation with a small number of predictors has crucial importance on the regions and basins where measurements are not sufficient and/or not exist. In this presented study, daily evaporation prediction models were prepared by using empirical Penman equation, Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm based on 'Feed Forward Back Propagation Artificial Neural Networks (LMANN)', radial basis neural networks (RBNN), generalized regression neural networks (gRNN). When the models were compared, it was noticed that the results of neural network models are statistically more meaningful than the Penman equation.

The objective of this survey was to determine the sexual and reproductive health needs of conservative and/or economically challenged adolescent girls. A total of 310 subjects (16.5 ± 2.2 years old), attending three private institutes teaching Islamic matter and the holy Quran and two private institutes teaching carpet-weaving in Erzurum, Turkey, were interviewed between November 2004 and February 2005. The ques-tionnaire covered knowledge on reproductive health and sexual matters to attain their feelings prior to their first menarche, their practices during menstruation, and their awareness of gynecological and sexually transmitted dis-eases as well as their attitudes toward and re-sponsiveness to domestic violence. Their re-sponses showed that these issues were con-sidered taboo and/or embarrassing to share. Also, a considerable percentage of the girls had no or limited knowledge on reproductive health and sexual matters and mismanaged gyneco-logical problems and domestic violence. More-over, those had knowledge revealed that their sources were non-scientific information from unprofessional individuals. In conclusion, the conservative and/or economically challenged adolescent girls who are not attending regular high schools need professional lectures on re-productive health and sexual matters.
