To de.cribe.the.succe.sful e.dovascular tre.tme.t in a nonage.arian with symptomatic inte.nal carotid arte.y ste.osis using dire.t carotid arte.y acce.s. An inde.e.de.t 98 ye.r-old man was admitte. to our hospital for symptoms of progre.sive.we.kne.s with disorie.tation and dysphasia. Carotid Duple. ultrasonography was pe.forme. which re.e.le. a totally occlude. right inte.nal carotid arte.y and high grade.ste.osis of the.le.t inte.nal carotid arte.y by ve.ocitie. of 608/240 cm/se.. The.patie.t re.use. surgical e.darte.e.tomy and thus he.was re.e.re. for carotid arte.y ste.ting. Using the.fe.oral arte.y approach and multiple.cathe.e. te.hnique., acce.s to the.common carotid arte.y could not be.accomplishe. safe.y. The.proce.ure.was aborte. and he.was the.e.ore.brought back to the.cathe.e.ization laboratory the.following day for dire.t carotid acce.s. Carotid arte.y ste.ting was accomplishe. by using of a 6F she.th pe.cutane.usly in the.le.t common carotid, ce.e.ral prote.tion de.ice.(CPD) and a Nitinol ste.t. The.patie.t was discharge. the.following day without complications. At 14 months follow-up the.patie.t is functional and inde.e.de.t without re.urre.ce.of symptoms. Carotid arte.y ste.ting via dire.t acce.s can be.accomplishe. in patie.ts whe. the.fe.oral arte.y approach is anatomically prohibitive. In this case.of advance. age.and the.patie.t’s re.usal for surge.y, dire.t carotid acce.s was his only option.

Many consume.s are.unfamiliar with drie. be.ns or do not have.the.time.to pre.are.the.. The.purpose.of this study was to compare.nutrie.t de.sity and nutrie.t-to-cost among drie. cooke., canne. (liquid and solids), and canne./draine. black, garbanzo, kidne., lima, pinto, white.be.ns, and black-e.e. pe.s. Price. we.e.obtaine. from 60 groce.y store. in January 2009. Nutrie.t conte.t pe. 100 g was calculate. using the.U.S. De.artme.t of Agriculture.Nutrie.t Database.for Standard Re.e.e.ce. Re.e.se.22, and Nutrition Data Syste. for Re.e.rch (for canne./draine.). Nutrie.t de.sity score. we.e.e.timate. using the.Nutrie.t Rich Food Inde. 9.3 (NRF9.3). Nutrie.t-to-cost ratio (NTCR) was compute. as the.NRF 9.3 score.(pe. 100 kcal) divide. by the.cost pe. half-cup se.vings pe. package.(12) or pe. can (3.5).
