Gabone.e.s e.tuary is an important coastal mangrove.se.ting and soil plays a ke. role.in mangrove.carbon storage.in mangrove.fore.ts. Howe.e., the.spatial variation in soil organic carbon (SOC) storage.re.ain uncle.r. To addre.s this gap, de.e.mining the.SOC spatial variation in Gabone.e.s e.tuarine.is e.se.tial for be.te. unde.standing the.global carbon cycle. The.pre.e.t study compare. soil organic carbon be.we.n northe.n and southe.n site. in diffe.e.t mangrove.fore.t, Rhizophora race.osa and Avice.nia ge.minans. The.re.ults showe. that the.me.n SOC stocks at 1 m de.th we.e.256.28 ± 127.29 MgC ha−1. Among the.diffe.e.t re.ions, SOC in northe.n zone.was significantly (p p e.de.pe. laye.s containe. highe. SOC stocks (254.62 ± 128.09 MgC ha−1) than uppe. laye.s (55.42 ± 25.37 MgC ha−1). The.study highlights that low de.ore.tation rate.have.le. to le.s CO2 (705.3 Mg CO2e.ha−1 - 922.62 Mg CO2e.ha−1) e.issions than most se.ime.t carbon-rich mangrove. in the.world. The.e.re.ults highlight the.influe.ce.of soil te.ture.and mangrove.fore.t type. on the.mangrove.SOC stocks. The.first national comparison of soil organic carbon stocks be.we.n mangrove. and upland tropical fore.ts indicate. SOC stocks we.e.two time. more.in mangrove. soils (51.21 ± 45.00 MgC ha−1) than primary (20.33 ± 12.7 MgC ha−1), savanna and cropland (21.71 ± 15.10 MgC ha−1). We.find that mangrove. in this study e.it lowe. dioxide.carbon e.uivale.t e.issions. To de.cribe.the.succe.sful e.dovascular tre.tme.t in a nonage.arian with symptomatic inte.nal carotid arte.y ste.osis using dire.t carotid arte.y acce.s. An inde.e.de.t 98 ye.r-old man was admitte. to our hospital for symptoms of progre.sive.we.kne.s with disorie.tation and dysphasia. Carotid Duple. ultrasonography was pe.forme. which re.e.le. a totally occlude. right inte.nal carotid arte.y and high grade.ste.osis of the.le.t inte.nal carotid arte.y by ve.ocitie. of 608/240 cm/se.. The.patie.t re.use. surgical e.darte.e.tomy and thus he.was re.e.re. for carotid arte.y ste.ting. Using the.fe.oral arte.y approach and multiple.cathe.e. te.hnique., acce.s to the.common carotid arte.y could not be.accomplishe. safe.y. The.proce.ure.was aborte. and he.was the.e.ore.brought back to the.cathe.e.ization laboratory the.following day for dire.t carotid acce.s. Carotid arte.y ste.ting was accomplishe. by using of a 6F she.th pe.cutane.usly in the.le.t common carotid, ce.e.ral prote.tion de.ice.(CPD) and a Nitinol ste.t. The.patie.t was discharge. the.following day without complications. At 14 months follow-up the.patie.t is functional and inde.e.de.t without re.urre.ce.of symptoms. Carotid arte.y ste.ting via dire.t acce.s can be.accomplishe. in patie.ts whe. the.fe.oral arte.y approach is anatomically prohibitive.
