BACKGROUND Undernutrition is a crucial cause of morbidity and mortality among children in low-or middle-income countries(LMICs).A better understanding of maternal general healthy nutrition knowledge,as well as misbeliefs,is highly essential,especially in such *** the current era of infodemics,it is very strenuous for mothers to select not only the right source for maternal nutrition information but the correct information as *** To assess maternal healthy nutritional knowledge and nutrition-related misbeliefs and misinformation in an LMIC,and to determine the sources of such information and their assessment *** This cross-sectional analytical observational study enrolled 5148 randomly selected Egyptian mothers who had one or more children less than 15 years *** data were collected through online questionnaire forms:One was for the general nutrition knowledge assessment,and the other was for the nutritional myth *** of information and ways of evaluating internet sources using the Currency,Relevance,Authority,Accuracy,and Purpose test were additionally *** The mean general nutrition knowledge score was 29±9,with a percent score of 70.8%±12.1%(total score:41).The median myth score was 9(interquartile range:6,12;total score:18).The primary sources of nutrition knowledge for the enrolled mothers were social media platforms(55%).Half of the mothers managed information for currency and authority,except for considering the author's contact *** than 60%regularly checked information for accuracy and *** mothers with significant nutrition knowledge checked periodically for the author's contact information(P=0.012).The nutrition myth score was significantly lower among mothers who periodically checked the evidence of the information(P=0.016).Mothers dependent on their healthcare providers as the primary source of their general nutritional knowledge were less likely to hold myths by 13%(P=0.044).However,usi

Vegetation is an important feature of many rivers. Vegetation along rivers produces high resistance to flow and, as a result, has a large impact on water levels in rivers and lakes. The effects of instream-unsubmerged vegetation （such as the reed-similar Kalmus） on flow resistance and velocity distributions is studied in the paper. Artificial vegetation is used in the experimental study to simulate the Acorus Calmus L. As shown in experimental tests the resistance depends strongly on vegetation density and the Manning resistance coefficient varies with the depth of flow. A simplified model based on concepts of drag is developed to evaluate the roughness coefficient （Manning＇s n） for non submerged vegetation. In vegetated channels the overall flow resistance is influenced significantly by the distribution pattern of the vegetated beds. Within vegetation, vertical variation in velocity is different from that in the non vegetated bed, which reflects the variation in vegetation density. Vertical turbulent transport of momentum is negligible as demonstrated by experiments.

AIM:To undertake a baseline study comparing quality of life(QoL) in patients with chronic pancreatitis(CP) on Antox to those with CP,matched for disease duration,who were not on this ***:CP was defined according to the Zurich *** eight consecutive patients with CP who were taking Antox(antioxidants) were compared with 69 consecutive control CP patients not on *** Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core questions 30 and Pancreatic Modification(28 questions) were used to assess *** of a total of 137 patients 28 in each group were matched for disease duration(within 12 mo).Median disease duration was 8(1-22) years in the Antox group and 7(1-23) years in the Non-Antox cohort(P = NS,Mann-Whitney U-test).Other parameters(age,gender,etiology,endocrine and exocrine insufficiency) were similar between ***:Median visual analogue pain score in the Antox group was 3(0-8) compared with 6(0-8) in the Non-Antox group(P < 0.01).Perceptions of cognitive,emotional,social,physical and role function were impaired in the Non-Antox group compared to Antox patients(P < 0.0001,P = 0.0007,P = 0.0032 and P < 0.005 and P < 0.001,respectively).Analgesics and opiate usage was significantly lower in the Antox group(P < 0.01).Overall physical health and global QoL was better in the Antox group(P < 0.0001,95% CI:1.5-3).CONCLUSION:Contemporary quality of life assessments show that after correction for disease duration and cigarette smoking,patients with CP taking antox had better scores than non-antox controls.

The tellurium-based glasses TeO2, 85TeOz-15WO3, 85TeO2-10WO3-5Sm203, 77TeO2-20WO3-3Y203, 77TeO2-20WO3-3La203, 65TeO2-33WO3-2Er203 and 49TeO2-29.4WO3-19.6PbO-2Er203 have been prepared by melt quenching technique. Density and molar volume have been measured for the present glasses. Optical absorption studies are carried out on the glass system in the wavelength range of 200-900 nm. The compositions depend on different physical parameters such as density, molar volume and oxygen packing density will be discussed. Also, molar refraction （RM）, calculated refractive index （n）, metallization criterion （M）, electronic polarizability of the oxide ion （to2＂（Eopt） and optical basicity A^opt have been determined.

Current investigation has shown that human exposure to aflatoxins is not limited to the administration of contaminated cereals,but water is another possible *** study was aimed to design easily applicable method to eliminate aflatoxin B2(AFB2)from contaminated drinking *** has been used for preparation of probiotic-coated polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and cellulose acetate(CA)*** of these hybrid nanofibers were studied by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR).SEM showed the proper coating of probiotic strains(Kluyveromyces lactis CBS 2359 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae ATCC 9763)on both nanofiber *** areas(1-5 cm^(2))of the probiotic-nanofiber hybrid were used to enhance the removal of 20 ng/ml of aflatoxin B2(AFB2)from prepared AFB2-contaminated water over *** revealed that a 5 cm^(2) area of probiotic-coated PVA nanofibers can eliminate 97.5% of AFB2 as compared to 87.5%,90.5%,93.5%,and 95.5%,for 1 cm2,2 cm^(2),3 cm^(2),and 4 cm^(2),respectively,while probiotic-coated CA nanofibers were slightly less ***,the cytotoxicity of probiotics-CA treated water on cultured human fibroblasts was almost 10 times lower than the cytotoxicity recorded in probiotics-PVA treated ***,results of the current research suggest that probiotics-polymer nanofiber membranes can be used as an extra stage in the water purification system for the treatment of AFB2-contaminated water.
