Dear Editor,Afferent synapses of cochlear inner hair cells(IHCs)employ a unique molecular machinery(see extended background in supplementary Materials).Otoferlin is a key player in this machinery and its defects cause human auditory synaptopathy(Moser and starr,2016).Otoferlin,a tail-anchored(Vogl et al.,2016)multi-C_(2)-domain protein(Fig.1Ai)specific to hair cells(Roux et al.,2006),is a member of the ferlin protein family involved in membrane trafficking and repair that are of major disease relevance(Pangršičet al.,2012),also see supplementary *** is distributed broadly within IHCs(Fig.2Ai-Aiii;Pangrsic et al.,2010;Roux et al.,2006).

A New Guiding Framework for Engaging Diverse Populations in Disaster Risk Reduction: Reach, Relevance, Receptiveness,and Relationships

In urban environments characterized by rich diversity across language, migration status, demographic profiles, and usage of different forms of media, there can be significant challenges to ensuring that particular disaster risk reduction(DRR) communications reach those potentially affected. This article presents a study with 20 Pacific Island community leaders and connectors about their communities' perspectives and anticipated responses to natural hazards in Auckland, New Zealand. Home to the largest population of Pacific people in the world, Auckland provides the basis for understanding the complexities of delivering disaster information across numerous community groups. The rich cultural and linguistic backgrounds of multiple Pacific communities living in this city highlight the need to consider the complexities of disaster messaging related to natural hazards. In particular, the article forwards the importance of incorporating the guiding concepts of reach, relevance, receptiveness, and relationships into a DRR approach with culturally and linguistically diverse groups. These concepts are presented as an embedded guiding framework that can helpfully inform disaster communication.

Mountainous regions cover about 27 per cent of the world's land surface and are home to some 22 per cent of the global population (UNEP 2002). A much greater number of people depend on mountain environments for a wide range of services, including clean water, energy, timber,biodiversity, recreation, and protection from environmental hazards, such as landslides and floods.

Dear Editor, Heat shock factors （HsFs） constitute a transcription factor family playing regulatory roles in maintaining cellular protein homeostasis or mediating cell differentiation and develop- ment （Akerfelt et al., 2010, Bjork and sistonen 2010, Westerheide et al., 2012）. some human diseases such as cancer and neurodegeneration are often linked with mal- function of HsFs （Dai et al., 2007, neef et al., 2011, scherz- shouval et al., 2014）. The human HsF family consists four members： HsF1-4, which exhibit tissue-specific expression profiles and possess unique but overlapping functions. HsF1 is the major regulator of the heat shock response.

将东方大黄蜂(胡蜂)蛹或幼蜂的棕色表皮层连同含有黑色素的皮细胞层、黄色表皮层及相连的产生黄嘌呤的皮细胞层割下,换位后植入原来的黄蜂体上(原来是黄色的部分用棕色替代,棕色的用黄色替代)。然后将蛹放回原来的子脾中,幼蜂放入一特殊的培养皿中,让其复原和发育。共对200个不同时期的蛹和50只幼蜂进行了试验。结果显示,存活的最主要是将羽化的蛹(差1-2天就羽化的蛹),早期的蛹和幼蜂均死亡。总共有约5%的蛹存活,幼蛹无一存活。在存活的蛹中,棕色表皮植入黄色区域中的不但成活了,而且还保留了棕色色彩。相反,黄色表皮在植入到棕色区域的几天后,就丢失了黄色及膜片。经过表皮异源移植的大黄蜂寿命极短,一般仅几星期。羽化后较敏感,攻击性强,但行走、飞行都很正常。

大地生态学生态学这个专门名词是由生物学家 *** 创造出来的,他给它这样的含义:它是研究生物体及其周围环境之间的关系的。因此许多生物学家确信,在生态学与非生物界有关的资料里,仅仅采集那些代表它与生物体有关联的部分。但是在“研究生物体与它的环境之间的相互关系”这一概念里,同样意味着那“相互”联系也是必须研究的。生态学思想不仅仅是单方面的思想,调查研究的目的还在于特种植物影响下对土壤和地形形成的作用。neef(1979)正确地指出这样的事实,原先那专门名词,经过 Haeckel 的采用和推广,较之唯一以植物为中心的研究确实有了更加广阔的领域。除了从 Haeckel 开始提出的生态学类型以外(这个可称为生物生态学),还有景观的其他部分(如地貌、水等等,还有人类)也可放入研究中心里去,这一类研究工
