During the COVID-19 pandemic,the treatment of aortic dissection has faced additional *** necessary medical resources are in serious shortage,and the preoperative waiting time has been significantly prolonged due to the requirement to test for COVID-19 *** this work,we focus on the risk prediction of aortic dissection surgery under the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic.A general scheme of medical data processing is proposed,which includes five modules,namely problem definition,data preprocessing,data mining,result analysis,and knowledge *** on effective data preprocessing,feature analysis and boosting trees,our proposed fusion decision model can obtain 100%accuracy for early postoperative mortality prediction,which outperforms machine learning methods based on a single model such as LightGBM,XGBoost,and *** results reveal the critical factors related to the postoperative mortality of aortic dissection,which can provide a theoretical basis for the formulation of clinical operation plans and help to effectively avoid risks in advance.

Abstract Banksia is a significant element in vegetation of southwestern Australia, a biodiversity hotspot with global significance. In particular, Banksia hookeriana represents a species with significant economic and ecological importance in the region. For better conservation and management, we reported an overview of transcriptome of B. hookeriana using RNA-seq and de novo assembly. We have generated a total of 202.7 million reads （18.91 billion of nucleotides） from four leaf sam- ples in four plants of B. hookeriana, and assembled 59,063 unigenes （average size = 1098 bp） through de novo transcriptomc assembly. Among them, 39,686 unigenes were annotated against the Swiss-Prot, Clusters of Orthologous Groups （COG）, and NCBI non-redundant （NR） protein databases. We showed that there was approximately one single nucleotide polymorphism （SNP） per 5.6-7.1 kb in the transcriptome, and the ratio of transitional to transversional polymorphisms was approximately 1.82. We compared unigenes of B. hookeriana to those of Arabidopsis thaliana and Nelumbo nucifera through sequence homology, Gene Ontology （GO） annotation, and KEGG pathway analyses. The comparative analysis revealed that unigenes of B. hookeriana were closely related to those of N. nucifera. B. hookeriana, N. nucifera, and A. thaliana shared similar GO anno- tations but different distributions in KEGG pathways, indicating that B. hookeriana has adapted to dry-Mediterranean type shrublands via regulating expression of specific genes. In total 1927 potential simple sequence repeat （SSR） markers were discovered, which could be used in the genotype and genetic diversity studies of the Banksia genus. Our results provide valuable sequence resource for further study in Banksia.

Payments for Environmental Services(PES)are relatively novel mechanisms whereby the adoption of sustainable management practices by a stakeholder is rewarded by incentives linked to external *** of PES for conservation agricultural practices(CAPS)by smallholder farmers may provide opportunities to increase household income or cover the technology costs of adoption if the carbon sequestration benefits of CAPS are quantifiable,adoption rates are accelerated and maintained,a mechanism exists whereby carbon sequestration services can be compensated,and carbon offset exchange markets are *** research suggests a methodology to examine a PES market for carbon offsets generated by the adoption of CAPS by farmers in *** a cumulative adoption of 60%over a 20-year period,revenue from PES market participation to CA adopters was two times higher than revenue earned when disadoption occurred midway through the *** adoption targets are associated with higher per household returns when fertilizer rates typical to the region are *** and maintaining a sustainable PES system in the study region would require significant investment in time and *** lack of on-the-ground institutions or local support for such a program would also challenge successful ***,the programs where participant success depends on external markets,such as the hypothetical one suggested here,are subject to the ebb and flow of foreign demand for carbon *** these three broad constraints to a PES/CAPS program in the region would require grass-roots driven policy initiatives with buy-in at multiple social,economic,and political levels.

A novel reactive polyorganosiloxane containing nitro groups was first prepared by acid-catalyzed equilibration polymerization. The monomer, 3-(4-nitrophenoxy)propylmethyldichlorosilane (NPPMS), was synthesized by hydrosilylation reaction with dicyciopentadienylplatinum(II) chloride (Cp2PtCl2) catalyst in high yield. The synthesized polynitroorganosiloxane, which has potential application as a precursor for synthesizing advanced functional polymers, was characterized by FTIR, H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, Si-29-NMR, vapor pressure osmometry (VPO) and gel permeation chromatography(GPC).

The emergence of novel systemic therapies has spurred a dramatic paradigm shift in lung cancer *** has revealed greater intracranial efficacy in targeted agents and immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICI)compared to conventional ***,advances in stereotactic radiosurgery(SRS)have contributed to the increased use of this highly localized,minimally-invasive treatment modality for local tumor *** this era of precision medicine,the combination of these novel agents and SRS demands further prospective exploration-particularly as questions regarding their sequence of administration and the risk of neurotoxicity remain ***,although data are limited and largely retrospective,literature supports the concurrent administration of ICI and radiation,with no observed increases in immune-related adverse events or acute neurologic *** the case of patients with driver mutations,newer generations of tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKI)display improved intracranial efficacy and are currently preferred alone upfront in patients with asymptomatic brain metastases(BM)due to lack of *** of combining TKI and SRS is limited with mixed *** this review,we explore the evidence regarding the use of novel systemic agents and SRS for treatment of lung cancer *** practice will continue to be refined as larger,prospective studies yield results.

Environmental drivers and genomic architecture of trait differentiation in fire-adapted Banksia attenuata ecotypes

Trait divergence between populations is considered an adaptive response to different environments,but to what extent this response is accompanied by genetic differentiation is less clear since it may be phenotypic plasticity. In this study, we analyzed phenotypic variation between two Banksia attenuata growth forms, lignotuberous(shrub) and epicormic resprouting(tree), in fire-prone environments to identify the environmental factors that have driven this phenotypic divergence. We linked genotype with phenotype and traced candidate genes using differential gene expression analysis. Fire intervals determined the phenotypic divergence between growth forms in B. attenuata. A genome-wide association study identified 69 single nucleotide polymorphisms, putatively associated with growth form, whereas no growth form-or phenotype-specific genotypes were eidentified. Genomic differentiation between the two growth forms was low(F_(st)=0.024). Differential gene expression analysis identified 37 genes/transcripts that were differentially expressed in the two growth forms. A small heat-shock protein gene, associated with lignotuber presence, was differentially expressed in the two *** conclude that different fire regimes induce phenotypic polymorphism in B. attenuata, whereas phenotypic trait divergence involves the differential expression of a small fraction of genes that interact strongly with the disturbance regime. Thus, phenotypic plasticity among resprouters is the general strategy for surviving varying fire regimes.

Background In West Virginia (WV),47% of fifth-grade children are either overweight or *** is no clear consensus regarding the definition of insulin resistance in children,and directly measuring insulin on the population level is *** proposed measures examined further in this study include triglyceride (TRIG)/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) ratio and TRIG/low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C) *** purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between TRIG/HDL-C ratio,TRIG/LDL-C ratio and insulin resistance in fifth-graders with acanthosis nigricans (AN).Methods Between 2007 and 2016,52,545 fifth-grade students in WV were assessed for *** glucose and insulin levels were collected only for a sub-group of students who were AN-positive and was used to determine insulin resistance using the Homeostatic Model for Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR) *** analysis included t tests and logistic regression with receiver operating characteristic *** Of the students assessed for AN,4.5% (n =2360) tested *** prevalence of insulin resistance was 79% (n =814) among 1030 with AN and complete ***/HDL-C ratio and TRIG/LDL-C ratio were significantly associated with insulin resistance (TRIG/HDL-C:Est.=0.36,P < 0.0001,AUC =0.68;TRIG/LDL-C:Est.=0.87,P < 0.0001,AUC =0.69).Multivariate analysis showed that increased body mass index (Est.=0.05,P < 0.0001),gender (Est.=0.49,p < 0.0001) and TRIG/HDL-C ratio (Est.=0.21,P < 0.0001) were significantly associated with insulin *** TRIG/HDL-C is a better surrogate marker of insulin resistance in AN-positive children compared to TRIG/ LDL-C ratio;so,on a population-level,cholesterol rather than insulin may be obtained for preliminary testing of early insulin resistance in children.
