Systematic mutational analysis of epitope-grafted ED3 immunogenicity reveals a DENV3-DENV4 bi-serospecific ED3 mutant

Objective:To identify the residue determinants of the serospecificity and sero-cross-reactivity of dengue virus(DENV)envelope protein domain 3(ED3),which contains two major putative epitopes of ***:We constructed ED3 from DENV3(3ED3)and DENV4(4ED3),and six epitope-grafted variants,where we transferred epitope 1(L304I,K305D,V309M,and S310A)and/or epitope 2(D383N,K384S,K387T,and N389H)of 4ED3 onto 3ED3 and *** albino mice aged 3-4 weeks were immunized against wildtype and epitope-grafted ED3 variants and anti-ED3 IgG antibody responses were determined using ***:Mouse immunization using 3ED3 and 4ED3 generated serotype-specific antisera,as ***,most epitope-grafted ED3s produced antisera serospecific to the template ED3 with little or no cross-recognition of ED3 of the serotype from which the epitopes were *** indicated that a mere grafting of the epitope was not sufficient to transfer serospecificity,contrary to our ***,one epitope-grafted ED3 mutant,where epitope 1 of 3ED3 was grafted onto 4ED3(4ED3^(epi1)),generated antisera that was serospecific to both 4ED3 and ***:The 4ED3^(epi1)is a chimeric ED3 that produces antisera possessing serospecificity to both 3ED3 and 4ED3 onto a common 4ED3 *** 4ED3^(epi1),therefore,provides a unique tool for analyzing serospecificity and sero-cross-reactivity in *** believe that chimeric ED3 may provide a template for future recombinant ED3 possessing serospecificity of multiple DENVs onto a single scaffold and may pave a way developing tri-and/or tetravalent anti-DENV antisera.

Comparative investigation of the free radical scavenging potential and anticancer property of Diospyros blancoi(Ebenaceae)

Objective: To investigate the comparative effects of Diospyros blancoi(Ebenaceae)leaves(DBL), root bark(DBRB) and stem bark(DBSB) on free radicals and ***: The polyphenol contents, antioxidant and free radical scavenging properties were determined using standard spectrophotometric methods. Cytotoxicity and anticancer activities were performed on brine shrimp nauplii and Ehrlich ascite carcinoma cells, ***: Among the extracts, DBSB showed the highest total antioxidant capacity and reducing capacity on ferrous ion. Based on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and hydroxyl radical scavenging activities, DBSB showed(95.760 ± 0.343)% and(67.460 ± 2.641)%scavenging with IC50of(3.10 ± 0.17) and(50.00 ± 3.11) mg/m L, respectively. The IC50 values of standard butylated hydroxytoluene and catechin(CA) for 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and hydroxyl radicals were(8.50 ± 0.25) and(75.00 ± 0.14) mg/m L,respectively suggesting that DBSB had a significant(p pid peroxidation inhibition assay, the inhibitory activity of the extracts and the standard was in the following order: DBSB > DBRB > CA > ***, the phenolic [(139.91 ± 3.924) mg gallic acid equivalent/g] and flavonoid contents[(412.00 ± 16.70) mg catechin equivalent/g)] of DBSB were higher than that of other extracts. In addition, the DBSB showed the moderate cytotoxic and anticancer ***: Our results indicate that Diospyros blancoi stem bark had the significant highest antioxidant and free radical scavenging properties as well as moderate anticancer ***, we assume that the anticancer activity of this plant can be, at least in part, attributed to its content in phenolic compounds as well as its significant free radical scavenging properties.

Anorectal malformation(ARM)is a frequently occurring surgical condition in neonates,with a prevalence of 1 in 4000 live births.'In boys with this anomaly,the rectum and urinary tract share a common wall for some distance,often ending up in fistulous *** goals of definite reconstruction are to separate the rectum from the urinary tract without injuring the urethra and mobilizing the rectum to the perineum within the muscle *** the rectum and the urinary tract is the most critical part of this operation and is associated with a significant risk of urinary tract injury.2-5 The original procedure described by pena and Devries involves multiple stay sutures on the rectal mucosa just above the fistula,lifting the mucosa and continuing a submucosal dissection up to the prostate,where the entire thickness of the intestine can be separated from the urinary tract.

The Electronegativity and the Global Hardness Are periodic properties of Atoms

The electronegativity and the hardness are two popular and useful theoretical descriptors of chemistry and physics successfully used by both physicists and chemists in correlating chemico-physical properties of atoms, molecules and condensed matter physics. We have tried to explore the fundamental nature of the hardness and electronegativity of atoms and have observed that their fundamental nature is basically lying in electrostatics and manifest as the electron attracting power emanating from the nucleus of the atom. We have tried to correlate the periodic nature of variation of the electronegativity and the hardness to the electron attracting power of the nucleus from which they are originated and developed. We have developed the formulae for evaluating both electronegativity and hardness and found that they have the direct correlation with the effective nuclear charge of the atoms and hence their periodicity.

Characterization, prevalence and antibiogram study of Staphylococcus aureus in poultry

Objective: To reveal the presence of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus(S. aureus)(MRSA) in poultry samples and to determine the antibiogram pattern against five ***: Samples from different poultry farm of Chittagong city, Bangladesh were examined for S. aureus by different biochemical tests and confirmed as MRSA by identifying the presence of mec A gene using pCR. Antibiotic resistance pattern in S. aureus was determined by antibiotic disk diffusion ***: In this study, a total of 60 samples(30 from nasal swabs and 30 from cloacal swabs) were used, of which 54 were confirmed as S. aureus by different biochemical tests. Among these, 12 were confirmed as MRSA by detecting mec A gene using *** antibiogram study, both nasal and cloacal samples showed the highest resistance against penicillin-G and the lowest resistance was observed against ***: Based on the present study, it can be said that different antibiotics are used extensively in poultry that leads to MRSA and is alarming for human health.

Assessment of public health research output by Bangladeshi authors:A scientometric study

The main objective of the study is to assess the growth and expansion of public health(pH)research works by Bangladeshi authors from various perspectives such as quantum of growth,patterns of collaboration, and productivity of authorship, among others. The present research uses a scientometric technique to examine secondary literature. Between 2000 and 2015, 871literature by Bangladeshi writers and 3,71,389 literature by worldwide authors on pH were retrieved from the Scopus database and evaluated using quantitative indicators to study growth and development from various perspectives. The highest growth in terms of the number of publications has been observed in the year 2015(133) and the lowest in 2001(10). The pR(percent of Growth Rate) shows that 2001 was the deepest decreasing year(-38%) whereas 2002was the most increasing year(90%). During the study, RGR(Relative Growth Rate) values of Bangladeshi contributions to pH literature varied from 0.16 to 0.55, with an average of 0.27. The CC(Collaborative Coefficient) value indicates that during the research period, there was a substantial amount of collaboration among the authors. At the same time, the ppA(productivity per Author) value(0.31) denotes that throughout the era, each Bangladeshi author produced less than half of a publication per year. The mean Activity Index(AI) during 2000-2015 was 89.14,which reflects lower activity than the world’s average in pH literature. It was also observed that research productivity in public health of Bangladesh follows Lotka’s inverse rule of author production. According to the findings, there is a strong link between public health research output in emerging and developed nations.

Denim is the most popular dress material to any age of people. Day by day its demand increasing swiftly because of western life style and fashion has been accelerated with the trends of casualization across the globe. Nowadays, the present structure of denim (regular, stretch) cannot cover the versatile field of human needs owing to its comfort and stiffness problem. So it is very important to diversification of denim fabrics according to the customers demand and also acquisition the consumer. The main goal of the study is to develop double cloth structure in denim using 30s/1 and 20s/1 cotton (CW) yarn by some selected structures. Moreover, it will create new era by promoting versatility keeping with comfort factors. Here, some denim fabric has been manufactured by using double cloth structure that will give versatility and it affects thermo-physiological comfort. The warmth of a fabric has been found due to the trapping air into the structure and such applications like top garments, baby and kids wear, jacket, coat, cloth for winter season etc. Eventually, the samples have been tested and compared with regular denim on the basis of visual appearance, GSM, tensile strength, shrinkage and stiffness. The developed samples provided satisfactory level compared to regular. Most importantly, findings come due to dissipation the yarn into two layers along with finer count rather than regular denim.

Introduction: This study evaluated the difference in operative and clinicapan>pan>l outcomes for patients with advanced ovarian cancer after primary debulking surgery (PDS) versus neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) followed by interval debulking surgery (IDS) in Bangladesh. Methods: Sixty patients with apan>dvanced epithelial ovarian cancer presenting to the department of Gynaecological Oncology at the National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital were prospectively enrolled. Thirty patients underwent primary debulking surgery and thirty patients received NACT followed by IDS. Modeling of the Chemico-physical process of protonation of Molecules Entailing Some Quantum Chemical Descriptors

Relying upon the basic tenets of scientific modeling, an ansatz for the evaluation of proton affinity of mole-cules are evolved in terms of a four component model. The components of the model chosen are global de-scriptors like ionization energies, global softness, electronegativity and electrophilicity index. These akin quantum mechanical descriptors of atoms and molecules are linked with the charge rearrangement and polarization that occur during the physico-chemical process of protonation of molecules. The suggested ansatz is invoked to compute the protonation energy of as many as 43 compounds of diverse physico-chemical nature viz, hydrocarbons, alcohols, carbonyls, carboxylic acids, esters, aliphatic amines and aromatic amines. A detailed comparative study of theoretically evaluated protonation energies of the above mentioned molecules vis-à-vis their corresponding experimental counterparts reveals that there is a close agreement between the theory and experiment. Thus the results strongly suggest that the proposed modeling and the ansatz for computing pA, the proton affinity, of molecules for studying the physico-chemical process of protonation may be valid proposition.
