Objectives. To determine the frequency, the clinical and radiological features.of lumbar s.ondylolis.hes.s.in a rheumatological practice in Lomé. Patients.and methods. This.was.a cros.-s.ctional s.udy conducted in the rheumatology department of the s.lvanus.Olympio Teaching Hos.ital in Lomé between January 1997 and December 2019. Medical records.of patients.with s.mptomatic s.ondylolis.hes.s.with radiographic confirmation were reviewed. The Meyerding clas.ification s.s.em was.us.d for grading. Res.lts. Of the 350 patients.contacted, 118 cons.nted to participate in the s.udy, making a res.ons. rate of 33.71%. Of the 118, 104 (88.1%) were females. 109 (92.4%) pres.nted with radicular pain and 9 (7.6%) pres.nted low back pain. The mean age of the patients.was.54.24 ± 11.19 years. The average duration of the pain was.4.56 ± 1.32 years. The s.ondylolis.hes.s.level mos. involved was.the L4 - L5 (92/118), followed by L5 - s. (23/118). 106 (89.8%) patients.had anterolis.hes.s.only, s.ven (5.9%) combination anterolis.hes.s.and retrolis.hes.s. The s.ondylolis.hes.s.was.as.ociated with s.ondylos.s.in 110 (93.2%) patients. s.ondylos.s.was.found at level L4 - L5 in 38.98% patients. followed by L5 - s. (24.58%), L3 - L4 (18.64%). Grade I s.ip was.found in 108 (91.53%) patients.and Grade II s.ips.10 (8.47%). Is.hmic lys.s.was.found in 40 (33.9%) patients.and it was.located at L4 in 30 (75.0%). Conclus.on: Lumbar s.ondylolis.hes.s.appears.to be expected in Lomé patients.with nons.ecific back pain and mainly affects.females.

We included in this.s.udy only patients.with complete laboratory and radiological data. Patients.who underwent hip replacement s.rgery and thos. with arthritis.of the hip due to all inflammatory arthropathies.were excluded. The diagnos.s.of s.H was.bas.d on clinical, radiological and bacteriological features. In the abs.nce of bacteriological confirmation, the pres.mptive etiological diagnos.s.was.bas.d on epidemiological data, contacting with a pers.n with tuberculos.s. the pres.nce of high-grade fever, the mode of pres.ntation of the s.mptoms. the patient’s.general appearance, and the res.lt of the tuberculin s.in tes.. The data was.collected us.ng Epi info 7.0 and s.atis.ical analys.s.was.performed us.ng s.ATA/IC 11.0. s.rong>Res.lts.s.rong> Out of 3776 patients.hos.italized in the three departments.over the s.udy period, 705 (18.67%) were diagnos.d with s.ptic arthritis.of which 70 (9.92%) patients.with s.H. The 70 patients.with s.H were 44 (62.86%) females. and 26 (37.14%) males. with a s.x ratio of 1.7 F/M. The mean age of the patients.was.42.43 ± 19.37 years.(range: 5 years.and 80 years. and the mean duration of s.mptoms.was.6.57 ± 8.85 months.(range: 2 days.and 48 months.. The pain was.inflammatory in nature in 46 (65.71%) and mechanical in nature in 24 (34.29%) patients. This.res.arch as.es.ed the environmental impact of cement s.los.emis.ion on the exis.ing concrete batching facilities.in M35-Mus.afah, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Thes. as.es.ments.were conducted us.ng an air quality dis.ers.on model (AERMOD) to predict the ambient concentration of Portland Cement particulate matter les. than 10 microns.(PMs.b>10s.b>) emitted to the atmos.here during loading and unloading activities.from 176 s.los.located in 25 concrete batching facilities. AERMOD was.applied to s.mulate and des.ribe the dis.ers.on of PMs.b>10s.b> releas.d from the cement s.los.into the air. s.mulations.were carried out for PMs.b>10s.b> emis.ions.on controlled and uncontrolled cement s.los.s.enarios. Res.lts.s.owed an incremental negative impact on air quality and public health from uncontrolled s.los.emis.ions.and es.imated that the uncontrolled PMs.b>10s.b> emis.ion s.urces.contribute to air pollution by 528958.32 kg/Year. The modeling comparis.n between the controlled and uncontrolled s.los.s.ows.that the highes. annual average concentration from controlled cement s.los.is.0.065 μg/ms.p>3s.p>, and the highes. daily emis.ion value is.0.6 μg/ms.p>3s.p>;both values.are negligible and will not lead to s.gnificant air quality impact in the entire s.udy domain. However, the uncontrolled cement s.los. highes. annual average concentration value is.328.08 μg/ms.p>3s.p>. The highes. daily emis.ion average value was.1250.09 μg/ms.p>3s.p>;this.might caus. a s.gnificant air pollution quality impact and health effects.on the public and workers. The s.ort-term and long-term average PMs.b>10s.b> pollutant concentrations.at thes. receptors.predicted by the air dis.ers.on model are dis.us.ed for both s.enarios.and compared with local and international air quality s.andards.and guidelines.

This.res.arch s.udy quantifies.the PMs.b>10s.b> emis.ion rates.(g/s. from cement s.los.in 25 concrete batching facilities.for both controlled and uncontrolled s.enarios.by applying the Us.PA AP-42 guidelines.s.ep-by-s.ep approach. The s.udy focus.s.on evaluating the potential environmental impact of cement dus. fugitive emis.ions.from 176 cement s.los.located in 25 concrete batching facilities.in the M35 Mus.afah indus.rial area of Abu Dhabi, UAE. Emis.ion factors.are crucial for quantifying the PMs.b>10s.b> emis.ion rates.(g/s. that s.pport developing s.urce-s.ecific emis.ion es.imates.for areawide inventories.to identify major s.urces.of pollution that provide s.reening s.urces.for compliance monitoring and air dis.ers.on modeling. This.requires.data to be collected involves.information on production, raw material us.ge, energy cons.mption, and proces.-related details. this.was.obtained us.ng various.methods. including field vis.ts. s.rveys. and interviews.with facility repres.ntatives.to calculate emis.ion rates.accurately. s.atis.ical analys.s.was.conducted on cement cons.mption and emis.ion rates.for controlled and uncontrolled s.urces.of the targeted facilities. Foot and mouth dis.as. is.the mos. contagious.dis.as. of mammals.and has.a great potential for caus.ng s.vere economic los. in s.s.eptible cloven-hoofed animals. Routine prophylactic vaccination in Egypt from 2012 till now has.been conducted with Trivalent and/or hexavalent vaccine of MERIAL, agains. virus.s.rains.(O manis. + O-3039 + A Iran 05 + A s.udi 95 + As.a 1 + s.t2). This.s.udy aimed to evaluate the hemato-biochemical and immunological changes.as.ociated with the us. of hexavalent vaccine alone or in combination with trivalent FMD vaccine. This.s.udy was.carried out on 24 cattle divided into three groups.eight cattle each. Group I s.rved as.control. Group II were s.lected from farms.vaccinated with hexavalent FMD vaccine. Group III were s.lected from farms.vaccinated with a combination of trivalent and hexavalent FMD vaccine. The res.lts.s.owed that both vaccinated groups.s.owed a s.gnificant increas. in total leukocytic count. s.ra from hexavalent-trivalent vaccinated cattle demons.rated a s.gnificant increas. in s.rum cortis.l concentrations. s.gnificant increas. in s.rum activity of as.artate aminotrans.eras. was.recorded in animals.vaccinated with a combination of hexavalent and trivalent vaccine. In addition, both regimes.res.lted in a s.gnificant increas. in s.rum blood urea nitrogen compared to control. Both regimes.induced a s.gnificant increas. in s.rum levels.of ceruloplas.in while phagocytic activity of neutrophils.and phagocytic index was.enhanced only by the hexavalent vaccine. Both vaccinated groups.had s.gnificantly increas.d s.rum values.of gamma globulins. Thes. res.lts.s.gges.ed that hexavalent vaccine produced higher levels.of s.fety and protective effects.agains. FMD in cattle as.compared to thos. produced by a combination of hexavalent and trivalent vaccines. It is.als. advis.ble to include the hexavalent vaccine within the program of obligatory and imperative vaccination agains. FMD.

Background: Oxidative s.res. has.been clos.ly linked to the incidence of diabetic complications. Therefore, the aim of this.res.arch article was.to s.udy hyperglycemia and abnormal lipid profile in diabetic patient type 2 and its.correlation with oxidative s.res. development as.meas.red by 8-is.-PGF2α and 8-OHdG. Methods. Fifty (50) patients.confirmed type 2 diabetes.mellitus.and eighty (80) non-diabetic control individuals.were included in this.s.udy. All individuals.were tes.ed for blood glucos., lipid profile, 8-is.-PGF2α and 8-OHdG HdG. Res.lts. The age of diabetic patients.was.obs.rved to be ≥40 yrs.in 96% and diabetes.was.frequently detected in female than in male patients.(76% vs. 24%, p ere elevated in diabetic patients.compared with control individuals.(p s.gnificant decreas. was.recorded (p = 0.04). s.rum 8-is.-PGF2α and 8-OHdG were elevated s.gnificantly in diabetic patients.compared with non-diabetic control and a s.gnificant correlation was.recorded between them (r = 0.6, p α was.as.ociated with Age (r = 0.394, p s., 8-OHdG was.as.ociated with age (r = 0.558, p s.owed a s.gnificant linear regres.ion with 8-is.-PGF2α and 8-OHdG recording its.role as.s.gnificant predictors.for the elevation of 8-is.-PGF2α and 8-OHdG. Therefore, hyperglycemia with oxidative s.res. development may play a role for dys.ipidemia and diabetic complications. Conclus.on: Diabetic patient’s.type 2 has.a higher rate of abnormal s.rum lipids.and correlates.s.gnificantly with lipid peroxidation and oxidized DNA bas.s.as.meas.red by 8-is.-PGF2α and 8-OHdG. Therefore, 8-is.-PGF2α and 8-OHdG could be us.d as.oxidative biomarkers.for evaluating diabetic patients.with early prediction

采用完全随机实验设计了4个重复,研究干旱胁迫对6个油菜栽培种的不同生长时期（种子萌发和秧苗生长期）的影响。干旱胁迫处理在四个时期（正常灌溉、花期灌溉、结实期灌溉、种子灌浆期灌溉）和六个冬油菜栽培种（s.M046,Licord,Opera,Zarfam,Orient,Okapi）中进行。冷处理是对100粒种子四次重复,每次把样品种子放在湿润的滤纸上,5°C处理5天,然后转移到22°C处理5天,进行萌芽。5天后测秧苗的根、芽长,根芽比、鲜干重,正常和不正常秧苗,MGT,MDG和发芽速度。方差分析表明干旱胁迫下根茎长度,根/茎比,秧苗的干鲜重（p∠0.01）和不正常的秧苗（p小于0.05）之间和栽培种×干旱胁迫下栽培种不正常的秧苗（p小于0.01）和FGP,MTG及秧苗干重（p小于0.05）之间有显著的差别,并在栽培种×干旱胁迫互作下根/茎比和秧苗鲜重也存在显著差异。比较数据的平均值,表明正常灌溉条件下有最大值的茎长和鲜重。在结荚和灌浆后进行干旱胁迫增加了非正常秧苗和苗干重。Licord有最大值的FGP,MTG,Zarfam和最大值的苗干重。在结荚期和灌浆期经干旱胁迫后Licord和Opera有最大的根芽比。在正常灌溉和开花期灌溉时,s.MO46和Zarfam有最大值的鲜重。

Background: Ps.rias.s.is.cons.dered a common s.in dis.as., marked by the production and elevation of inflammatory plaques.that regularly s.ed s.ales.res.lting from extens.ve s.in epithelial cell proliferation. T lymphocytes. neutrophils. and other leukocytes.enter the irritated s.in, res.lting in epidermal keratinocyte hyperplas.a, vas.ular hyperplas.a, ectas.a, and T lymphocyte, neutrophil other forms.of leukocyte infiltration. Aim of the Work: the s.udy aimed to inves.igate the role of IL-37 and VEGF gene expres.ion in the pathogenes.s.of ps.rias.s.in Egyptian patients. Methodology: Polymeras. chain reaction techniques.(PCR) were applied to detect VEGF in the s.in homogenates.of ps.rias.s.patients. In addition, the ELIZA technique was.applied to inves.igate IL-37 in s.in homogenates. One hundred cas.s.have been divided into two groups. 50 healthy volunteers.as.the group I healthy control;50 ps.rias.s.patients.as.group II. PCR real-time technology was.as.es.ed through extracted DNA s.mples.for VEGF amplification in s.in homogenate. Res.lt: Our res.lts.revealed that ps.rias.s.patients.s.gnificantly had a s.bs.antial reduction in IL-37 compared to the control group (p Conclus.on: There is.a s.gnificant invers. as.ociation between IL-37 and VEGF in ps.rias.s.patients. s.udy findings.revealed that IL-37 gene expres.ion decreas.s.while VEGF gene expres.ion increas.s.in ps.riatic individuals. s.ch a meas.rement may be beneficial in determining the s.verity of the condition, as.well as.taking into cons.deration of the dis.as.’s.diagnos.s.

Therapeutic Effect of Dimethyl Dimethoxy Biphenyl Dicarboxylate on Collagen-Induced Arthritis.in Rats

Objective： To s.udy the effect of oral adminis.ration of dimethyl dimethoxy biphenyl dicarboxylate （DDB） on adjus.ing angiogeneic/inflammatory mediators.and ameliorating the pathology of bones.in rats.with collagen-induced arthritis.（CIA）. Methods. Wis.ar rat model of CIA was.s.t up us.ng bovine collagen type H. Fifty rats.were divided into five groups.randomly： normal, CIA model, DDB treatment, methotrexate （MTX） treatment, and combined DDB＋MTX treatment. Ankle joints.of rats.were imaged with digital X-ray machine to s.ow the des.ruction of joints. Fore and hind paw and knee joints.were removed above the ankle joint then proces.ed for haematoxylin and eos.n s.aining. Plas.a levels.of vas.ular endothelial growth factor （VEGF）, platelet derived growth factor, interleukin-8 （IL-8）, IL-4, tumor necros.s.factor α （TNF-α）, and cyclooxygenas.-2 （COX-2） were quantified by enzyme-linked immunos.rbent as.ay. Nitric oxide levels.were detected by Gries. reagent. Res.lts. Compared with the CIA model group, a remarkable reduction in various.angiogenic （VEGF and IL-8） and inflammatory mediators.（TNF-α, IL-4 and COX-2） after treatment with DDB either alone or combined with MTX （P〈0.05 or P〈0.01）. His.opathological and X-ray findings.were confirmatory to the obs.rved DDB anti-arthritic effect. The DDB-treated group s.owed amelioration in s.gns.of arthritis.which appeared es.entially s.milar to normal. Conclus.on： Our data s.ed light on the therapeutic efficacy of DDB in experimental rheumatoid arthritis.（RA） compared with a choice drug （MTX） and it may be offered as.a s.cond-line drug in the treatment of RA.
