Scientic Workow Applications(SWFAs)can deliver collaborative tools useful to researchers in executing large and complex scientic ***,Scientic Workow Scheduling(SWFS)accelerates the computational procedures between the available computational resources and the dependent workow jobs based on the researchers’***,cost optimization is one of the SWFS challenges in handling massive and complicated tasks and requires determining an approximate(near-optimal)solution within polynomial computational *** by this,current work proposes a novel SWFS cost optimization model effective in solving this *** proposed model contains three main stages:(i)scientic workow application,(ii)targeted computational environment,and(iii)cost optimization *** model has been used to optimize completion time(makespan)and overall computational cost of SWFS in cloud computing for all considered scenarios in this research *** will ultimately reduce the cost for service *** the same time,reducing the cost has a positive impact on the protability of service providers towards utilizing all computational resources to achieve a competitive advantage over other cloud service *** evaluate the effectiveness of this proposed model,an empirical comparison was conducted by employing three core types of heuristic approaches,including Single-based(i.e.,Genetic Algorithm(GA),Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO),and Invasive Weed Optimization(IWO)),Hybrid-based(i.e.,Hybrid-based Heuristics Algorithms(HIWO)),and Hyper-based(i.e.,Dynamic Hyper-Heuristic Algorithm(DHHA)).Additionally,a simulation-based implementation was used for SIPHT SWFA by considering three different sizes of *** proposed model provides an efcient platform to optimally schedule workow tasks by handing data-intensiveness and computational-intensiveness of *** results reveal that the proposed cost optimization model attained an optimal Job completio

Pennisetum purpureum is one of the most invasive perennial grasses of the Poaceae family,which are abundant in south-east Asia including Brunei *** pyrolysis process at a slow heating rate proved to be highly promising for biochar *** production and characterization of different Pennisetum purpureum biochars have been investigated at the pyrolysis temperatures of 400℃,500℃and 600℃with a heating and nitrogen flow rate of 5℃/min and 0.5 L/min,*** observed higher heating values were 22.18 MJ/kg,23.02 MJ/kg,23.75 MJ/kg,and the alkaline pH were 9.10,9.86,10.17 for the biochar at 400℃,500℃,600℃temperatures,*** water holding capacity was one hundred percent for all biochars and continued to increase for higher pyrolysis *** images show that the porosity of the biochars has been enhanced with increased temperatures due to the rearrangement of crystallinity and *** the other hand,the yields of biochar have been decreased from 35.13%to 23.02%for the increase of pyrolysis temperature from 400℃to 600℃.Energy dispersive X-ray analysis shows that the O/C atomic ratios were 0.15,0.08 and 0.06 for the biochar of 400,500 and 600℃which validates the improvement in heating ***-IR analysis revealed that the available functional groups in the biochars were C-O,C=C,and *** analysis(TGA)under pyrolysis condi-tion showed residue of 46.56%,51.13%and 55.67%from the biochar at 400,500,and 600℃,*** derivative thermogravimetry(DTG)graph indicates that the degradation rate is higher for 400℃biochar than the 600℃biochar.

This study investigates the simultaneous production of hydrochar and bioactive compounds from Ulva lactuca via a hydrothermal *** experiment was carried out using a batch reaction vessel at different reaction temperatures of 180-220◦C and various holding times of 30-90 *** expected,both temperature and time vigorously influenced hydrochar and bioactive compound *** maximum hydrochar yield was at 32.4 wt%.The higher heating value(HHV)of hydrochar was observed in the range of 17.68-21.07 MJ kg^(-1),near the energy content of low-rank *** hydrochars exhibited contact angles higher than 90°(i.e.,94-108°)for a longer time,confirming their hydrophobic *** scanning electron microscope analysis(SEM)showed that the hydrothermal process enables cracks in the spherical shape of raw *** into small and porous *** producing hydrochar,the hydrothermal process of *** also gives promising antioxidants and phenolics as bioactive *** highest total phenolic content and antioxidant activity could be achieved in hydrolysate at 200℃and 30 min with the value of 1.20±0.12 mg/g and 71.6±1.3%,respectively.

Application of CuO-water nanofluid with size of the nanoparticles of 20 nm and volume concentrations up 2% is numerically investigated in a radiator of Chevrolet Suburban diesel engine under turbulent flow conditions. The heat transfer relations between airflow and nanofluid coolant have been obtained to evaluate local convective and overall heat transfer coefficients and also pumping power for nanofluid flowing in the radiator with a given heat exchange capacity. In the present study, the effects of the automotive speed and Reynolds number of the nanofluid in the different volume concentrations on the radiator performance are also investigated. The results show that for CuO-water nanofluid at 2% volume concentration circulating through the flat tubes with Renf = 6000 while the automotive speed is 70 km/hr, the overall heat transfer coefficient and pumping power are approximately 10% and 23.8% more than that of base fluid for given conditions, respectively.

In the Activity Based Modeling (ABM) approach, an activity pattern is specifically assigned to each individual in ahousehold. In this way, one of the fundamental steps in the ABM approach is to project the socio-economic characteristics of allhousehold members while considering some marginal constraints available for the whole of population which is known as populationsynthesizing. In the current paper, the household characteristics distribution is defined as the probability of having a household with aparticular size, number of students and workers. The main goal of current research is to statistically fit the household characteristicsdistribution of the population to a previously obtained distribution for sample households in a way which satisfies the marginalconstraints in traffic zones. It is also followed to solve two main issues in most previous research on population synthesis, one ofthem is related to the so called “zero cell” and the other is known as the “Integrality” problem. Similarity between characteristicsdistributions of the sample and all households can be achieved by using Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) with the marginalconstraints. Satisfying all marginal constraints in a single optimization for a real case study involving a huge number of householdsincreases the mathematical complexity of the problem, and likely leads to an infeasible state. In the current paper, a new idea forsolving this problem in real cases is proposed. The proposed algorithm using GAMS software is implemented in Mashhad city(population of more than 2.5 million) in Iran.

A two-phase dynamic model, describing gas phase propylene polymerization in a fluidized bed reactor, was used to explore the dynamic behavior and process control of the polypropylene production rate and reactor temperature. The open loop analysis revealed the nonlinear behavior of the polypropylene fluidized bed reactor, jus- tifying the use of an advanced control algorithm for efficient control of the process variables. In this case, a central- ized model predictive control （MPC） technique was implemented to control the polypropylene production rate and reactor temperature by manipulating the catalyst feed rate and cooling water flow rate respectively. The corre- sponding MPC controller was able to track changes in the setpoint smoothly for the reactor temperature and pro- duction rate while the setpoint tracking of the conventional proportional-integral （PI） controller was oscillatory with overshoots and obvious interaction between the reactor temperature and production rate loops. The MPC was able to produce controller moves which not only were well within the specified input constraints for both control vari- ables, but also non-aggressive and sufficiently smooth for practical implementations. Furthermore, the closed loop dynamic simulations indicated that the speed of rejecting the process disturbances for the MPC controller were also acceotable for both controlled variables.

There are many design parameters in precision planters to be considered such as cell diameter, peripheral speed of roller, number of cells, manner of feeding seeds into cell and travel speed. In precision planters each cell must contain only one seed. Therefore, sliding the seed to the cell is important and depends on several parameters such as seed repose angle, seed dimensions and physics of cell. To help the seed to repose in the cell, making a groove on the roller would be very useful. Dimensions of this groove are very important and are considered as basic design parameters. This research was performed to determine some design parameters such as roller speed, travel speed, length and depth of groove for tomato seeds precision planting. In this regard, seeds with a diameter of 4 mm were used. The range of variation was based on calculations obtained. A roller with 42 mm width, 118 mm diameter and 15 cells on the surface was used in the experiment. For each cell, a triangular groove was created on the roller. The groove depth varied from zero at the beginning to the maximum value where the groove connected to the cell. The test unit had a continued and wide belt with 1 l m length. In each replication, planter worked for 20 s to reach a stable state. Thereafter, seeds were allowed to drop on the grease belt. Number of seeds and their spacing were measured on the 4.5 m of the belt. Results showed that the roller speed of 41.5 rpm, the planter travel speed of approximately 1 km/h, groove length of 6-8 mm and groove depth of 1.5 mm can improve planter performance for tomato pelleted seed.
